MsFitz
I weigh more and have a bigger waist than the end of the last challenge I completed (In February). That's fine with me. I was focused on getting strong, but now I'd like to lose some more fat. My main challenge will be to steadily lose body fat. I tried some different online body fat calculators and decided on this one to track throughout the challenge. I realize the numbers may not be accurate, but I should be able to see a trend. In addition, I will take pictures to help see any loss. I don't have a specific number goal, but I want to see a downward trend. As long as I measure consistently, I'll be able to track results! To achieve this, I will consistently track body fat and calories. I will also add "cardio" which I plan to start with just walking. Bonus points for anything more taxing! I did download the Run Zombies app to give it a try. Looks fun!Goals 1. Measure body fat/take pictures weekly and graph my progress. 2. Track calories daily to stay on target with calories and macro goals. Aiming for 1500 calories a day, 40% protein, 40% fat, 20% carbs. I'll be using My Fitness Pal to track. This is subject to change as I go. I will adjust for activity/exercise and if I am losing weight too fast or too slow. I think this will be hardest for me. I don't really like tracking, but I want to give it a go for this challenge. 3. Continue Madcow* three days a week and add at least two 20 minute walks per week. I may try other cardio as well. I just don't like it lol. I'll have to make it fun! *(For the last two weeks of this challenge, we will be on vacation and travelling. I reserve the right to replace Madcow with a body weight workout during this time.) GradesSince I am both a nerd and a teacher, I have created a rubric for me to grade myself with each week. Week 1 92%G1: 4G2: 3G3: 4 Week 2 83%G1: 4G2: 2G3: 4 Life QuestHave more fun! I want to get out there and do "stuff." I just don't know what that stuff is yet. I've spent my life sitting inside, reading and I don't know where I want to go, what I want to do. I'm going to start small this summer and try to find adventure where I can. Side Quest Finally do a pull-up! I plan to practice inverted rows after every lifting session until I can finally complete one whole pull-up. Motivation My motivation, as always, is my children. I want them to be healthy and happy as well as have a mom who can play with them. Another motivation is to improve my back/not have to deal with sciatica anymore. Lifting has greatly reduced the pain and I want to keep it gone! Mommy is no fun in pain! Starting Stats Height: 5'0"Weight: 137lbsWaist: 35"BF: 38% Starting PicsNo sucking anything in, no hiding any fat. 2 “Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right.†― Henry Ford Epic Quest First Challenge Second Challenge Third Challenge Link to comment

Raev
That elusive pullup... That is a respectable goal, as accomplishing the first pullup is a huge milestone in fitness. MsFitz
Today is meal planning and grocery day! Also, maybe clean out the pantry day. I just noticed an open bag of candy melts the kids must have tore into. I'm not sure what to do with the kids' food. They are all about sugary cereal, sandwiches, and Mac and cheese. They will eat whatever I made for dinner, but I don't know if I can take away their lucky charms lol. I'll just have to keep myself away from it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. MsFitz
MFP is giving me 1200 calories per day! That is losing 1lbs per week and being sedentary (since I'm not working in the summer). SevenofSeven
My kids were the same, boxes of this and packets of that........when I started the Paleo I did explain to them that even though these things would still be available they would not be restocked until shopping day, which in their speak, was if we eat them all today there is no more until next week. They have taken it quite well and have upped their fruit and dairy intake, so not a bad thing. 1 Wait! What............? Link to comment

MsFitz
I have been eating really crappy lately. Mostly because I quit smoking. Again. I only picked it back up for about a month this time, but it's still hard to shake. Feeling better today, so I'm starting the day off right with eggs and Brussels sprouts fried in bacon fat. I'm not much of a breakfast person so this is a "big" breakfast for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. MsFitz
I found a trail I want to hike when I go to PA next month. It looks easy enough for a beginner and it looks like it has some great views! This is part of my life quest. I don't know if I like hiking or not, because I've never tried, but I need to get out there and try things so I can start figuring out what I DO like. “Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right.†― Henry Ford Epic Quest First Challenge Second Challenge Third Challenge Link to comment

MsFitz
I practiced tracking everything yesterday. It was a success only int the fact that I tracked lol. I went over in calories and carbs because alcohol. I don't want to give it up for the entire 6 weeks, but I know I get better results that way. Maybe for the first 4 weeks. That way I'll look my hottest when I go back home for vacation Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. Excuse any short replies, please. Hello, and good luck with your challenge! I can commiserate--the summers where I currently live are also humid and miserable. I basically said the same thing--why run in the heat when you can lift? If you have access to a pool and want to incorporate cardio, swimming might be a good alternative, though. -:- THE LIONESS -:- Challenge 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, 2.10 Link to comment

Tateman
Nice challenge. Sometimes I do like working out with my youngest around, because he likes to copy me. Burpees, or pushups etc. Maybe I can steer him into a more active lifestyle then what I had. Eventually get his older brother involved too 1 Tateland.com, Instagram, Fitbit Link to comment
Robpocalypse
I like the adventure concept! I find that my adventures usually wind up being indoor activities.. like, going to see a movie. I'd like to replace that with something that requires more physical activity, hit the park, go hiking etc. Perhaps bowling, which while indoors, I could almost trick myself into thinking it's like doing multiple kettlebell swings! It gives them each one free game per day. Still have to pay for adults and shoes, but it helps! Last year we used it once. Hopefully we will get more out of it this year. They have it in many locations, if you google the program.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk.
