Level 25 Final Fantasy Rebel

My Epic Quest | My Journey | Currently on the Trial of Orthos

Goals for 2021:

  • Build my brother a Destiny 2 Lamp
  • Learn how to do a Handstand
  • Play 1 song on the acoustic guitar
  • Clean up the Christmas Decorations and finish setting up my apartment (hang things up, plus some other few things that need to be organized)
  • Re-introduce Pull-ups into my routine

Back Levers -

 

I spent time in a park monkeying on the bar, testing out gymnastics grips and resistance bands to see if I wanted to use them for the challenge.  Neither worked very well. 

     Grips work for wood bars, but on a metal bar they caused more problems than they solved.

     The bands were just a mess.  Far too short to use only one by itself.  Two tied together sort of worked, but most of the time trying to get the bands held at just the right spot to provide just the right amount of resistance aid was an exercise in futility.  Moreover, slipping my legs between the bar and band to get into position was a huge pain, and took up extra time which would have been better invested in more tuck lever work.  I think using a band for assistance could work with rings, since the bar wouldn't be in the way then.  But with a bar forget it.  Back to the store they go.
