apfelstrudi battles mistyfication

Recommended Posts

(TL;DR in second post)

Previously on Apfelstrudi’s journey:

I set out to become the very best. Like no one ever was. I got 4 pokémon from Professor Oak, kicked Gary in the nuts, and set out to defeat Brock. On my way, I encountered lots of trainers and wild pokemon that challenged me every 5 steps. And they helped me level up so I could win the boss battle.

But what’s even better: They showed me what I’m passionate about, and made my path forwards much, much clearer.

Once Brock had been defeated, I continued wandering, once again being challenged, but now I had a deathly weapon with me, even deathlier than my pokemon: My hoop. It worked better than repel, better than strength and cut together. It made my way easier and much more entertaining, and showed me what to focus on.

But now I face a new battle, and I must use what I’ve learned, and become a better trainer and hooper, in order to defeat Misty and not become Misty-fied.

aM16Zd1_460s.jpg

Let’s start this off by looking at the dictionary:

7d00cfab8854324df24692bd6eba13fd.png

In other words: Misty is a minx.

Now that I know what to focus on, Misty the little punk will certainly try to lead me astray. And she’ll have an easy job, too! Not only does she have boobs, she also has junior trainers in speedos surrounding her! How is that fair?

tumblr_lz7yp8MQMM1qa9vqgo2_2502.gif

I must focus on happiness, but not the kind of happiness that speedos bring. Instead, I’ll concentrate on something that brings me even more happiness: My hula hoops.

As I said in the recap - I want to be the very best. And now I’ve finally found something that I feel like I can progress steadily, with lots of effort, but not effort that leaves me frustrated and demotivated.

To be the very best hooper, there are many things I must work on.

Main Goal: Become the very best! - Defeat Misty

Battle 1: Horsea

HP Horsea: 50

HP Pikachu: 50

Defeating Horsea will be relatively simple. Hoop it up!

5 times a week. Can be anything from 5 minute waist-hooping to skill-work to hoop-workouts to stretches. But the hoop must be used.

Every time I hoop, I’ll take 1 HP off Horsea. Working on a new skill every week gives me an added bonus of 5 HP off.

If I don’t work on a skill, those 5 HP will be taken away from my Pikachu.

If I don’t defeat Horsea within 5 weeks (to allow for fail), I can either use the 6th week normally, or go into boss battle mode.

(stop being cute, you're gonna die D: )

Battle 2: Shellder

HP Shellder: 50

HP Charmander: 50

In order to defeat Shellder, my weakest Pokémon must come forth. Fire against water usually doesn’t end well for fire, but I can’t let that happen to my poor Charmander. On my way to become the very best, I must do things that aren’t directly related to hooping, but that offer assistance. This can be anything.

I must do 5 of those things a week. Each workout (using the term loosely) will take 1 HP off Shellder. An additional HP can be taken off for reflecting and naming how I’m helping my hooping by doing said workout.

Example: Chest/shoulder openers - help prepare chest/shoulder hooping.

If I don’t manage to defeat in the first 5 weeks, I can use the sixth or go into boss battle mode.

tumblr_my3r063y8h1shek33o1_500.gif

Battle 3: Goldeen

HP Goldeen: 50

HP Squirtle: 50

Pikachu needs to adhere to a schedule in order to defeat Goldeen! Because the only way to get past her is to dance. But not just any dance! A different dance must be tried every week. This includes listening to fitting music, watching videos of pros dancing, and doing a tutorial. All this tied together will take 10 HP off Goldeen. If I do more than one tutorial, or do some freestyle dance in the “style of the weekâ€, it counts towards Charmander’s battle against Shellder.

If I don’t manage to defeat in the first 5 weeks, I can use the sixth or go into boss battle mode.

Dance styles:

tumblr_m90e6nNXZ11qcm0wfo1_500.gif

(don't want that happening!)

Battle 4: Staryu (diet quest)

HP Staryu: 50

HP Bulbasaur: 50

Bulbasaur likes his food - and he’s gotten quite chubby lately. So he must plan his meals better, in order to stay away from evil foods.

One meal plan a week = 10 HP off Staryu.

If I stray from the meal plan, that’s 1 HP off Bulbasaur per day that had wrong food.

If I don’t manage to defeat in the first 5 weeks, I can use the sixth or go into boss battle mode.

tumblr_m4b29bM11D1r3ifxzo1_500.gif

Battle 5: Starmie (life quest)

HP Starmie: 50

HP Magikarp: 50

That’s right. I’ve caught myself the lamest pokemon ever. But in this case, it’ll be worth it. Because I’ll fight those boobs and speedos with my own boobs and speedos - kinda!

In order to feel better about dancing, hooping in front of the camera, and general movement, I must feel better about the way I look.

They’re trying to divert me with their beauty? I’ll find a way to use mine.

I recently (at the end of last challenge) started a new skin care regime. My skin has never been exactly great, but it's starting to annoy me like crazy. So when I read this article about Asian actresses and their masterful skin care, I decided to just give it a try, even though I haaaate spending lots of time in the bathroom. Ah well - if done properly it's like 5 more minutes a day. What I'm doing shall be in the third post to counter information-overload.

I want to stick with it a minimum of 5 days a week. Each day gives me 1 HP off Starmie.

Additionally, every week, I have to do something that makes me feel pretty. It doesn’t matter what it is, but can’t be something as simple as ‘take a shower’, obviously. For every project, I take 5 HP off Starmie.

If I don’t manage to defeat in the first 5 weeks, I can use the sixth or go into boss battle mode.

tumblr_laahwi8HMG1qaz2p3o1_500.gif

Week 6 / Boss Battle / Evolving

I’ve specifically assigned points so that I can have a successful challenge even if I don’t do every single workout, every single day and week. If all goes perfectly, I can defeat pokémon in 5 weeks. If not, I can continue normally in week 6. OR I can do a boss battle.

A boss battle will be done in case I’ve failed miserably and need more points than I can possibly gain through normal battle. I will only determine what a boss battle is if necessary though.

If by the end of week 6, I’ve not defeated a pokémon, I can use up the remaining HP of my pokémon.

Example: End of challenge stats Battle 1:

HP Horsea: 10

HP Squirtle: 40

-> Horsea: 0Squirtle: 30

If I manage to keep my pokémon’s HP at 25 or above, they will evolve. Which would be particularly important for Magikarp, obviously.

Stuff and things!

Skin care.

Apart from experimenting, my current skin care schedule looks like this:

Mornings:

Foam cleanser

Natural facial toner

Moisturizer for day

Evenings:

Foam cleanser

Natural facial toner

Moisturizer for nights

Every tuesday, thursday and sunday, I'll additionally do a facial mask thing and exfoliate while cleansing with a face brush (I even got one of those fancy electric thingies)  :D

Face mist shall be in my purse where ever I go.

When I'm feeling like it, I may also do double cleansing (first oil, then foam, then rinse), face massages and washing face with salted water (the burn!)

And I'm currently looking into tea tree oil for that reason. There will also likely be some DIY craziness.  :)

Dance styles!

Currently, what I want to do are the following:

Belly dancing

Swing

Burlesque

Salsa

Ballet

(Hip Hop)

I'm not sure on the schedule yet, but I'll start with swing because thanks to Sea Level, I've been having so much fun with that.

Your challenge looks great! I was kind of wondering whether you could top the last two, but apparently you can! A very nerdy awesome pokemon battle challenge and I love your goals too! I can probably learn so much from you I'm really going to focus on hooping too! :)

I just started a new skincare routine, when I got frustrated with being 27 with crazy acne. I never had any significant issues with acne in the past - even as a teen, I was more of a random pimple girl than an acne girl. I splurged and got the sensitive moisture cream from Estee Lauder ($58!), but I got it when there was a swanky free gift from Macy's, too. So I really got that plus 2 lipsticks, a mascara, and a Lilly Pulitzer tote. Much better.

I switched all of my products to stuff that is sensitive friendly, and ONE WEEK IN I have no zits. I have some healing spots from the past, but that's it.

1. Yes to Carrots Nourishing Face Wash

2. Burt's Bees Herbal Blemish Stick (applied to any blemishes)

3. Simply Natural Gentle Toner (swiped gently. It removes the excess Burt's Bees, but it's potent stuff)

4. Estee Lauder Verite

I don't even know if we have those things in Germany D: Definitely not at the drug store or supermarket. I may have to check amazon or something! Or bug a friend to send it over. And I'll have to write down the products I'm using - I know that it's all for sensitive skin, but I'm bad with names and too lazy to run to the bathroom right now!

I LOVE the yes to carrots and the st ives scrub, Those are my two favorites! Second recommendation.

Yes to Carrots is the best name ever. :D

Sounds like a lot of fun!  Do you get bonus points if you can merge the dance styles with the hooping?

Oooh I should! I definitely want to use some of it in hooping - like the arm movements from belly dancing and the bodyrolls from hip hop!

Quick pre-update update.

I did a beauty project on tuesday. I'd planned it for the first challenge week, but I thought it would be this week! And couldn't cancel the appointment.

I went to see a beautician. Who did wonderful and awful things to my face and left it all red and blotchy and tingling but also super smooth. Yep, a cleansing thingy. I got it washed, peeled, steamed, zits popped, a facial and a face massage. It was nice. I may go back in a month so she can continue, but since it's not exactly cheap, I have to reconsider that.

Anyways! I'm gonna let it count for the first week anyways because I did it for the assassins! Will help me ... I don't know, blend in in the desert? :D

I'm still stressed over work. The carnet thing nearly went wrong - the lady at the carnet-office told me it was all filled out wrong (not my fault, coworker did that) and my heart nearly stopped. But she was super, super nice and let me fill it all in at her computer and helped me, so I'm gonna try and do a good deed today and find a flower shop and send her a bouquet as thanks because she totally saved my day.

Ever since the truck left, I've been sitting on hot coals though. First few hours at work I spent looking out the window, waiting for it to come back because something's wrong. So I drove to visit my parents to be distracted, then spent the rest of the day obsessively checking my phone in case someone called to tell me something went wrong.

Obviously I can't handle this kind of stress as well as other kind of stress :D

My boyfriend, in the meantime, is on a job as well, but another one (it's unbelievably busy at work right now). It's in a small town, and usually the crew gets cheap and sucky hotels. NOT THIS TIME.

He's in a castle. The castle is a wellness & spa hotel. It has a huuuuuuge sauna & pool area and you can get all sorts of wellness-treatments and even minor plastic surgery (face re-modeling and whatnot). He threatened to let them dye his eye brows bright red. His room is bigger than our whole apartment. It's crazy, and while I' mjust a liiiitltle bit jealous (especially cause he's got a bath tub - I've not had a bath tub in 1 1/2 years!), I'm also super psyched about it because he totally deserves a hotel like this.

And now I'll use the bit of time I've got left before going back into work to follow ALL the threads :D

(Un)fortunately, he only stayed for one night, and by the time he got to his hotel room I was on my way to bed, so that didn't happen! And I had work to do in the morning. Ah well, maybe next time!

That video is AWESOME. That's just the kind of thing I want to do when experimenting with dance styles :) Perhaps I should try and make a video with each dance style that involves the hoop, even if it doesn't involve "traditional" hooping.

Stalking. I love all the hoop goals. Whenever I decide to write up my challenge thread, it'll have a few hooping aspects. :) Excited to see your progress with hooping.

Yessssssssss for more hooping! I'm loving all the hooping-challenges that are happening right now!

I know right! Sometime during our first winter in this apartment I sneaked a bath at my parents' because I missed it so much. You learn to deal with it though, even if it hurts! I do very much miss just soaking in the tub for an hour or two and reading or listening to music. Maybe I'll sneak into my parents' tub again when they're on vacation. :)

Random thought of the day:

Isn't it freakin' weird that so many people love the smell of freshly cut grass? Don't get me wrong, I love it, too. I wish I could smell it all the time. But if you think about it, we cut off some of the grass' body. Perhaps a limb or two, maybe the head. Then we walk all over the mutilated almost-corpses because it feels so nice on the feet and rejoice in the smell of its metaphorical blood.

(Things that pop into my head when driving along a freshly mowed meadow before work)

I got some of my meal plan done, I'm awarding myself 2 points for that. it's a long weekend here, and we both had the day off, so most of it was spent cleaning the apartment (deep-cleaning, like 3 hours or even more) and when I was done cleaning my part of it and boyfriend still wasn't done with his (even though I had bathroom and kitchen! And wiped the floors! No clue what he did in all that time), I decided to start the meal-planning just a little early. I had to do it a day early at least anyways, because monday is just too late to get meal-planning, but with monday being a holiday, I figured this weekend could use it as well.

Here's what it looks like:

Today

Lunch was whatever we had in the fridge (hamburger buns with sausage for boyfriend, salad for me)

Supper will be cheese sausage (hot sausage filled with cheese, zomg so tasty) and oven-baked fries

Saturday

Lunch will be I don't know what, we're helping a friend move, I expect sandwiches

Supper will be gyros and rice

Sunday

Braised oxtails with mashed potatoes! Because yummm. At least I hope so. (will be enough to last at least for lunch AND supper)

Monday

Lunch/brunch: Baguette that I'll toast in some olive oil in the pan with cream cheese (will probably cut some chives into it) and salmon tartar

Supper: I forgot. Crap.

Oh.

Meatloaf. With feta cheese, onions, bacon, and fresh tomatoes. I'll prepare that today and then freeze it because I bought those awesome aluminium oven dishes that are one-time-use and that I can just use to prepare food, freeze it, then put it in the oven. I'll be trying to get lots of dishes like that into the mealplan for easy sticking-to-plan.

The rest of my challenge, even when I'm already doing stuff, will wait for monday :)

It's a beautiful day here today, I got some mini-hooping in (total confusion while trying to do the crossover-weave, then lots of laughter when the boyfriend tried it and whacked himself in the head)
