Hey everyone! So this is my first challenge and I'm so excited.


 


Stats:


Age: 19


Weight: 136bls


Height: 5''4'


 


 


Main Quest:


Drop bodyfat fo %15


 


*Consume max 1600 cals everyday.


*Eat min 130 grams of protein everyday.


*Lift weights 6 days a week and do HIIT 3 days a week.


 


 


Side Quest:


 


*Work on handstands everyday.


 


Motivation:


*I'll be going to college in about 4 months. I will be in my best shape so far when I get there. And when I reach my goal bodyfat and weight, I will start slow bulking and be hella strong

Hey :) I can't wait either! I want to get my handstand so bad. Then I will start working for handstand walks :)

I have tried not counting but didn't work for me :/ I tend to eithe undereat or overeat that way. Good luck to you too :)

I'm still at wall handstands too and I have trouble walking myself closer to the wall. I do have some sort of system for how I eat though, it's just not calorie counting :P

Hi Cat,

 

Great looking goals, out of interest what are you using to calculate your body fat %? I'm always interested in trying to find a way to roughly estimate at least but none of the non medical ways seem very good :-(

Welcome!  Good to see another rebel on Strong Lifts.  My only concern would be lifting on the off days.  Trust me, you will come to appreciate those days eventually.   :)  Best of luck in your challenge!

Thanks! :) I know, I actually think that not taking rest days are already holding my improvement on SL a bit. But I feel a kinda bad when I take that much rest day. So I'll have to figure it out eventually :)

I felt the same way at first.  I was going from 5-6 days in the gym, to 3 days.  I felt ashamed that it was so easy and quick.  (At first)  Do what you are doing for now, but be prepared to need those days.  :)  Before I decided to bulk for a while, I was losing weight just doing those three days a week..

I'm considering doing stronglifts but I'm having a hard time with just working out 3x a week. Plus I've always isolated body parts. So it will be an adjustment. I'll be following your progress. Good luck.

I say definitely go for it. But I have the same problem with working out 3x a week. Right now, I add some isolation on rest days but it seems like I'm going to need to take those rest days in the future :)

09.06 - Day 1 :


Calorie goal: +

Protein goal:+

Lifting and Hiit goal: +

So I woke up at 5am and went to the gym. It is rest day of Stronglifts so I tried something else. I had forgotten to prepare an exercise plan for today so I did the first thing that came to my mind.





The routine:


1)

Deadlift

Clean

Front squat

Push jerk

Back squat


*1 set is doing this 5 exercises without stopping. I had 1-2 minutes of rest between sets and did total of 4 circuits as 6 reps-6 reps-4 reps-3 reps. I increased the weight on each set.*


2)

Tricep extension 4x8

Tricep pushdown 4x8

Skull crusher 4x8


Cardio:


*15 minutes of HIIT on treadmill.

Well done on your first day! I was supposed to wake up early too, but my alarm clock decided not to work, so that didn't go very well. XD

 

Thanks! That happens to me too lol But when my alarm doesn't work, my body naturally wakes up max half an hour later so that usually doesn't cause a problem for me :)

09.06 - Day 1 :


Calorie goal:

(Consumed 1800 cals which is over 200 cals)

Protein goal: A

Lifting and HIIT goal: A

(HIIT is 3 times a week monday-wednesday-friday)

 

So today was my Stronglifts day and it was awesome. I was stuck at my bench press and barbell row weight for a while BUT today I finally increased them.





1)

Stronglifts:

*Squat: 5x5 77,5kg

*Bench Press: 5x5 40kg

*Barbell Row: 5x5 40kg

 

 

2)

Clean and push press x8

Thrusters x8

Dumbbell rear lunge x8 (each leg)

 

*This circuit x 3

I like what you're doing there, Cat.  Way to go on the bench and row!   :)

 

Thanks! :) Do you think I should switch to 3x5 or is it too early? I have been doing 5x5 for  2.5 months but especially my overhead press and row are so hard to increase. I can't increase the weight every workout, lately I only manage to increase them in every 3 or 4 workouts. When I try to increase them each workout, I get stuck at 4th rep so I decrease the weight. Only my squat seems to increase regularly and I'm kinda confused.
