Pff, I'm not sure I'll ever be ready, TBH, and I may have bitten off more than I can chew. The race profile looks like this but I just need to finish without walking. That is the goal, and if I can stay under four and a half that'll be a bonus. Bonus round: Translate at least one of my own posts and one of somebody else's into portuguese per week3. The first ascent is about 4 times as high as my killer hill, but judging by the time it takes the person who made the graph I guess it's shallower. So basically a long, wearing start equivalent to 4 hill reps and then a few not-quite-as-bad repeats later. Yeah, I'm definitely going to die. O.O That is one heck of a course. 18ck Posted June 5, 2014 Author Report Share Posted June 5, 2014 Time was a bit limited today with stuff going on but I managed some fast running to and from the rowing club and my daughter's friend's house. The club workout was just some ergo (five minutes only) and some weights (curls, rows, and whatever that leg thing is called. Under the circs, I feel like I did well but I still reckon I owe myself a half hour or so of harder work at the weekend. There was a bloke in there who I've seen around but didn't think of as particularly badasss but... the things he was doing on that pull-up bar were amazing! I was really impressed but refrained from saying so because - well, you know.A-hanyway, speaking of not saying things, I had a slightly odd encounter on the train today. There was this youngish chap sitting next to me who kept laughing at nothing in short, staccato bursts and doing slightly odd things like leaning over muuuuch too close to the woman on the other side and reading her magazine, or leaning over very ostentatiously to fart. At one point he asked how many stops to Willesden Junction (not a noticeably strange question, to be fair - it's not like he wanted to go to Mordor or anything) and I noticed he had an american accent. Well, you know what americans are like* so I had a theory he was just amused at the way everyone was ignoring everyone else and just decided to amuse himself by seeing what he could get away with without any of the Londoners acknowledging it. Either that or he was on drugs. I dunno. Anyway, I escaped unstabbed and sometimes that's all you can ask for in a train journey, isn't it?
