RedPandaOne
Main Quest:Lose 15-20 pounds and/or 2-3 inches from waist/hips/thighs/arms. Goals:1) Go to the gym 3x a week for 30 minutes2) Do the Beginners Body Weight Workout 1x a week (in addition to goal #1)3) Log my food for at least 5 days a week Life GoalContinue saving money to buy my own place and keep an eye on the market Side QuestWalk around the neighborhood at least once on non-workout days.I know technically I can’t start a side quest until I finish this challenge; however I’m going to do it anyway. My office is having a pedometer challenge that starts on Monday as well and I signed up for it. I want to win the challenge this year, so anything to help get me walking. MotivationI have several reasons for motivation:I am sick and tired of half my closet not fitting.I want to feel good when I look in the mirror.I want to lower my risk of breast cancer and all the other health problems that run in my family.I hope to do this by Columbus Day. My friends are getting married that weekend and I have a dress I want to wear but don't fit into anymore (it's a 10, I'm currently around a 14/16). And then two weeks later I leave for a two week trip to China I want to be in shape for. There’s also a pair of Frye boots (Melissa Tall Lace) that I really want to fit into. I fell in love with them, but my legs are currently too big to fit. For grading I'll be using a scale of A-F, and each goal will be graded separately. So I could get an A+ for exercise, but an F for tracking food in the same week. At the end I'll average everything. For an extra bit of motivation, if I can drop my weight back into the 170s (at last weigh in 2 weeks ago I was 182) by the end of the challenge I'm going to reward myself by getting my cartilage re-pierced. I'll post an unofficial starting weight this Saturday, and my official stats on June 14th. I weigh and take measurements once a month, and that is my official day for June. Let's get this party started! 3 "You won't find your answers by looking to the stars. It's a journey you'll have to take by looking inside yourself. You must write your destiny..." Teros
Looks good! Just keep in mind that you can weigh the same but have your bf% and body composition be totally different. The scale is a lying troll so take the # on there with a grain of salt. I like the measurements idea; a lot of people so that. If you need anything, feel free to pop over to the adventurer's tavern or send me a pm. Good luck and have fun I know technically I can’t start a side quest until I finish this challenge; however I’m going to do it anyway. RedPandaOne
Yea, I need to remember that the scale lies. That's a demon I fight with constantly. Losing 2-3 inches from varies parts of my body would be awesome too, and in the end is really what I'm looking for. To become smaller, not necessarily lighter. But I do know I need to lose some weight. I'm going to edit my goal and add in the losing the inches. And thanks for keeping my secret 1 "You won't find your answers by looking to the stars. RedPandaOne
Yea, it's in October. I didn't want to give myself too much time, but also didn't want to short change myself on time either. RedPandaOne
Unofficial Starting weight: 182.1I had a mini win last night. Went to the movies and dinner with friends. Said friends LOVE to eat, and overeat. They once ate $80 of Chinese food and didn't have leftovers. So, yea, going out with them is full of temptation and usually not healthy food. We ended up at UNOs. I ordered an individual pizza and what I thought was a side Caesar salad. The salad was two servings. So I took my fork and literally divided it in two with a visible line in the center of the plate. Of course my friend asked what I was doing and had a shocked look when I told her I only wanted half. I also only ate half of the pizza. 2 "You won't find your answers by looking to the stars. It's a journey you'll have to take by looking inside yourself. You must write your destiny..." RedPandaOne
Here is a picture of me from this morning. I found I can't do the half naked pictures, but I can do this. I bought this shirt in hopes in wear it to comic con in August. As you can see it doesn't fit at the moment. It's a juniors xl - the largest it comes in. Hopefully maybe I can lose enough weight/inches to wear it come August. Doubt it, but here's hoping and having another goal!Sent from my SGH-T699 using Tapatalk 3 "You won't find your answers by looking to the stars. RedPandaOne
Thanks! I felt very proud of myself last night and I love the shirt too, enough that I refuse to return it. I've been eyeing it since last summer. Now all I need is a red skirt or red pair of pants and I'm good to do my form of cosplay, lol. 1 "You won't find your answers by looking to the stars. RedPandaOne
I have a new life goal I need to work on. Is it okay to have two? My parents just got back from being on vacation for a month, so my brother and his wife invited us up to their house today for fika (it's Swedish afternoon coffee and sweets). They said it was because they wanted to see pictures of my parents trip. In reality it was because they had their own pictures to share. In 6 months I am going to be an auntie!! So new life goal: learn Swedish before the kid does. When he/she gets old enough to start bad mouthing to me, I need to know what is being said in Swedish so I can give it right back, lol! I've got what? A year and a half - two years before the kid even starts to talk? This is going to be an experience, lol. 2 "You won't find your answers by looking to the stars. deftona
Congratulations! And it's nice to have a language buddy - I am trying to make progress into learning a new language this challenge too. How are you going to learn Swedish? It's a shame there's no Duolingo programme or I'd skip the German and join you in Swedish instead, I'd love to live in Sweden! Is this going to be the first time at being an Aunty? If it's not siesta or fiesta, I'm not interested. Profile picture credit : NF's resident super artist - NinjaKitten Link to comment
RedPandaOne
I'm going to use Rosetta Stone. And if I can get a handle on the basics and if they agree to help I'm going to start writing tweets to my friends who live in Sweden. I'm sure my sister-in-law will also help. I'm probably going to litter the house with post-it notes labeling everything, too, lol! I had a hard time learning French in high school, so I'm hoping this will be a little easier. Yea, it's my first time being an Aunt. I'm super excited, but wicked nervous. I don't know anything about children and I'm not a big fan of kids to begin with. So this is going to be an experience for me! But I'm wicked happy for them, I know my brother has been wanting children for awhile. So happy he's going to be dad. RedPandaOne
I'll keep you posted on how it goes! Right now I'm debating on when to buy. They are having a Father's Day sale and I can get it for about $100 off, but I have a huge chunk of my China trip being billed to my credit card this month, so I'm trying to avoid using my card as much as possible until my next cycle begins. Though, if it's true and the program can be loaded onto two computers and multiple people can set up an account I could give it to my dad as a gift on Sunday... eh, I have a few more days until I need to make up my mind. RedPandaOne
Hit the gym today, after much internal debate. Wasn't going to, but then I remembered I had plans for after work tomorrow and have my Skype chat with my friend tomorrow night, so I went today. Glad I went. Did 30 minutes on the elliptical. Crossramp and resistance set at 6%. Tracked all my food today. Ate 1,391 calories. Trying to figure out a game plan for tomorrow. I'm suppose to walk around the neighborhood at least once since it's a non-gym day. However, I've got a house showing at 5:30, won't be home until 6:30ish. Dinner. Skype call is sometime between 8 and 9 and can go until 10:30-11pm, so I need to be in the shower before 8 if I want my hair to be dry when I wake up the next morning (it takes HOURS for it to air dry, and blow drying takes a good half hour to hour so I avoid it when I can). If it's not raining at lunch I will walk around the office building. I'll figure something out. 1 "You won't find your answers by looking to the stars. RedPandaOne
I realized last night, on one of my many trips to use the bathroom (drank too much water yesterday) that I haven't used the snooze button on my alarm for a month. This coming from a person who has her alarm clock set 15 minutes fast on purpose so I can get the snooze (or two) in and still be on time every morning. Hmm, next challenge I may need to utilize this and start working out in the morning. Though could have used it this morning. I was tired pretty much the entire day. It sucks waking up every two hours. Today was my non-gym day. The weather was eh. Been raining off and on all day, humid and a huge shower is/was coming our way, so I decided to walk on the treadmill in the basement instead of around the neighborhood. Was able to get 20 minutes in. Only walked .36 miles. BUT that's more than what I would have done. Typically I would have sat on the couch the rest of the evening, showered, skyped and then gone to bed. So I call that a win. 5 "You won't find your answers by looking to the stars.
