Priscillia - Rogues do it from behind

Recommended Posts

I love to one shot mages

I love to two shot priests

Umm no, I don't particularly like being 2-shotted in either pvp or pve...

MAIN QUEST

To create and enforce good habits that will help me reach success in my life and in my profession.

  • Base Rotation
  • Poison Resistance/Energetic Recovery
  • Premeditation/Shadow Focus
  • Shadow Dance
  • Gold Quest

BASE ROTATION +2 STA +2 DEX +1 STR

  • 3-5 workouts/week
  • Yoga, Stretching, BBWW, Biking, Pole Class/Jams, Yardwork/Heavy cleaning etc
  • Intake Log (not really calculating this in grading.  Using HabitRPG as dailies)

First reason;  I want to enforce the base rotation from last challenge as my default.  These last two weeks have seen me forget to add my intake log but still manage 3-5 workouts.  It's getting there. let's add another six weeks to cement it.

Second reason; I feel good, sooo good, I fe~el GOOD! Ba, ba, ba, ba!  Seriously though, this may be key to keeping my crohn's medication where it's at (or at least prevent me from taking humira or remicade... -shudders-).

POISON RESISTANCE +3 CON / ENERGETIC RECOVERY +2 WIS

  • Poison Resistance; Eat less take out.
  • Energetic Recovery; 1 new recipe/week or 6 total for challenge

55%
55%

Poison Recovery - Reason; Last challenge showed me just how quickly I end up buying take out.  It also showed me how many calories... Eww.  By take out, I'm talking fast food. Sit down restaurants where I talk with friends/family and have a good time aren't what I'm aiming at.  I'm talking the days I forget my lunch, need to grab something between work and pole class.  Still debating on a way to grade this.

Energetic Recovery - reason;  To speed along Poison Resistance, let's try some new stuff!  I want to test new things that I can bring for lunch/supper.  I'm getting tired of some of my recipes (ie bacon wrapped chicken with cheese, homemade nuggets) so here we go :)

PREMEDITATION +2 WIS / SHADOW FOCUS + 3 CHA

  • Premeditation; One educational thing per week (podcast, tutorial, blogs, research)
  • Shadow Focus; Draw/paint twice a week.  Can double with tutorials (not podcasts or blogs)

Reasoning; Collecting underpants and then using them   I want to further both my professional career and also my personal projects.  I failed this last challenge.  It felt like a chore.  I don't want it to feel like that.  Instead of finished pieces, let's just focus on messing around and having fun and learning :)  Hopefully that will help it become a habit and then I can build on it!

These can carry on to another week as well.  I want in total 6 educational things (or more) and 12 sessions of actually doing something.  Reason I'm giving the option for this; I have a tendency to go on a bender when I really get going (like entire afternoon + evening benders).  It's not fair if I do 12 hours one week and 0 the next because I've got other priorities that need to be addressed that week.  We're building this one up very~ slowly.

SHADOW DANCE

  • Have Fun with Habit RPG.

Use it for dailies (like logging breakfast/lunch/supper).  Won't be counting on stats.  Just gonna try to have fun with it and see if I like it.  Save a tree while I'm at it (I use post-its out the wazoo for to-do lists  ).

GOLD QUEST

Ongoing gold quest - Have all debts paid at the end of 2014.  That means my car (progress in % bar in my signature) and my student loans (expected date OCT 2014).

My Shadow Dance and Gold quests do not count for stat points.  HabitRPG has its own lvl-ing system with its own rewards and is more of a curiosity at this point in time.  My gold quest has its own rewards and is satisfying by itself so I don't need stat points as motivation for it.  My focus this challenge is on the graded quests.

MOTIVATION

To feel better, more energetic and stronger.  To lose weight to make learning new moves easier and fit in my old clothes.  To help control my crohn's.  To stop collecting underpants and ACT on my dreams.

Challenge Recap!

MAIN QUEST

To create and enforce good habits that will help me reach success in my life and in my profession.

  • Base Rotation - Enforced!
  • Poison Resistance - Need Re-evaluation (passed, barely)
  • Energetic Recovery - Created/Enforced
  • Premeditation - Created
  • Shadow Focus - slowly coming along
  • Shadow Dance - Going Well
  • Gold Quest - Going Well

BASE ROTATION +2 STA +2 DEX +1 STR

  • 3-5 workouts/week
  • Yoga, Stretching, BBWW, Biking, Pole Class/Jams, Yardwork/Heavy cleaning etc
  • Intake Log (not really calculating this in grading.  Using HabitRPG as dailies)

I felt like crap the week I only did 2 workouts (mind you I wasn't eating well either).  But I believe 3-5 workouts a week has been cemented as my basic default.  I've found things I love to do and will continue for the sheer enjoyment, as well as the "I want to do THAT -insertcrazymovehere- in the future!" factor. And HabitRPG has helped with the intake log (though I still miss super quite a bit and the weekends are weird)

I'm awarding myself +1 STA +2 DEX +1 STR

POISON RESISTANCE +3 CON / ENERGETIC RECOVERY +2 WIS

  • Poison Resistance; Eat less take out.
  • Energetic Recovery; 1 new recipe/week or 6 total for challenge

Poison Recovery - Needs a different approach.  I think instead of worrying about the whole take out thing, I should focus more on eating clean.  I'll be looking more into how to fix this.  As I did end up lower than 75%, I will award myself points, just not the full shebang.

That said, I'm awarding +1 CON

Energetic Recovery - reason;  To speed along Poison Resistance,  And guess what? It worked magnificently!  I've got some recipes I can modify to my hearts content that work well. Here's the list of new recipes;

  • Steak Quesadillas (also tried it with chicken and pork )
  • Avocado Egg salad
  • Mango Mousse
  • Brown Sugar/Dijon Mustard Glazed Chicken Wings
  • Cheese and Bacon Burgers (Or Burger Bombs) on BBQ
  • Apple Bacon Pork Tenderloin

I'm awarding myself full points here! +2 WIS

PREMEDITATION +2 WIS / SHADOW FOCUS + 3 CHA

  • Premeditation; One educational thing per week (podcast, tutorial, blogs, research)
  • Shadow Focus; Draw/paint twice a week.  Can double with tutorials (not podcasts or blogs)

Premeditation went well but shadow focus wasn't as great.  Again, I need to re-evaluate my approach towards it.

I'm awarding +2 WIS +1 CHA for this section.

SHADOW DANCE

  • Have Fun with Habit RPG.

Done and done.  Will be continuing to use this for daily goals and the big to-dos.  SUCCESS!

GOLD QUEST

Ongoing gold quest - Have all debts paid at the end of 2014.  That means my car (progress in % bar in my signature) and my student loans (expected date OCT 2014). Still going strong!  I'm estimating I should be done with the car during the next challenge!

Ehehehe,  So I went awol since Thursday.  But here's the measurements I forgot to post from the end of last challenge :3

Starting on a rough foot for the challenge (well, half rough I guess).   I've got Pole Class tonight and most likely some Yoga too (NEED IT BAAAAAD).  I didn't cook this weekend so I don't have a lunch prepped... so there goes the Poison Resistance for today lol.  I think I'm going to grade that by attributing points.  More points for bad crap and less if it's a bit more healthy (like Subway or salads).

Hopefully I'll be able to get pics next weekend (lighting at my mom's sucks where the 3 sided mirror is and the bathroom mirror isn't in the best place either...).  Personally, I think I look slimmer on my tummy, but that could also be attributed to all the Pole dancing (core work ftw).  I'm also thinking of getting a table chart sorted soon once I finish up the installs on my ssd (yes I'm procrastinating on that).

I pretty much took last week off after the colonoscopy.  I'm still feeling off kilter, but better than say... Thursday last week.  I learned that fruity energy drinks and me don't mix; I get a mini addiction, the sugar gets to me to drink other sugary crap that my family has instead of water or fruit juice.  Oh, and did I mention I have zits popping up like crazy on my face?  Yep. On the bright side, I know how much I need for a colonoscopy in the future and will try not to go overboard like I did this time, which leaves me with a bunch of leftovers.  It's a good thing I hate buying this stuff anyways.

Kinky.  Following.

Heh :P  First thing I thought when I first heard this song.

Thanks El Hazard! :D

Suuuuubbbing! Hope the drawing goal works out better for you this challenge.

Best of luck! :D

Woooo! I hope so too Hatter.  I'm pretty apprehensive about it, I keep getting images of me holding on to something while my pens try to drag me to the drafting table!

Thanks :)

I'm looking forward to see how you go with this! :D

Also, you should join this!!

http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/topic/49067-ongoing-pole-positions/

:D

:D  >D Bwahahaha time to conquer the bad habits!

Hmmm I dunno of any place I could do spins except the playground.  Guess that means I need to look around.

A WoW-themed challenge AND HabitRPG? Nice :) I was thinking of making a WoW-themed challenge, but ended up going D&D-esque instead.

Thankies :)  I've actually never played D&D, something tells me I would like it but end up going crazy over it.

Good to see you back in the challenges!

Good luck again, I'm sure you'll do as brilliantly as last time.

Good to see you as well :D  I hope I do as well as last time, but I think this might be a bit harder since I've got to change my mentality about a few things and break a habit.

Breaking is harder methinks.

You had me at the Level 70 Elite Tauren Chieftains video.....

Cementing your habits seems very important to me! Really nice challenge!

ETC FTW!  Too bad I'm probably cancelling my sub and not going back for WoD.  Not enough time (and it's not a priority over my art and fitness stuff).

And I completely agree.  I mean, what's the point of successfully completing a 6-week challenge only to let those habits die an agonizing death after fighting for it?

Just went from 32% on the Gold challenge to 57% :D

Made a combined extra payment for May/June.  So proud!  I'll be ahead of my Dec 31st deadline by quite a few months even with the pole dancing classes (which were not calculated when I started this).

Week 1, Day 1 Recap

Base Rotation - 2/5 - Pole Class + Yoga

Poison Resistance/Energetic Recovery - 0/1 (Also had lunch out :/)

Premeditation/Shadow Focus - 0/1 + 0/2

Shadow Dance - Messing around with it

Gold Quest - Organised extra payment today, 32% to 57%

So first things first; Crow Pose for 5 seconds!  It's getting easier, I feel like I could have held on longer if it wasn't for my wrists giving up (almost crashed).  I asked my yoga instructor about ideas on what to do.  Since I'm already stretching them out a minimum of twice a week for Pole warmups, she suggested more of those + some excercises with a can of soup.  Easy peasy stuff that could help while watching the news/reading.

My day started quietly, cottage cheese and some cappuccino (made from my powder at work. it's cheaper that way :P ).  Typical Monday were you need lots of stuff to wake you up.  I forgot to pack a lunch or cook anything yesterday so I went to get some fast food for a co-worker and myself :/  Not a particularly good start on Poison Resistance.

I had my Pole class at the regular time (after missing last week due to my colonoscopy).  Man did we have FUN (we were only 4).  Our instructor also got us to try some lvl 3 things (we're lvl 1) like chair to backhook, front hook to back hook... so we got to play with that a bit today :)  I'm certain I wasn't too graceful on those BUT! But I got to do a better regular chair and reverse sunwheel was going much better.

Still ripped a callous that was forming on my middle finger but meh.  BANDAID THAT AND SOLDIER ON.

Went back home, ate a small plate of nachos since my fridge is empty and then off to yoga.

Plan for tomorrow is to get some art time in and some cooking.  I'm thinking for my new recipe to try hamburgers a bit differently.  A patty with cheese in the middle and bacon wrapped around with some spices.  No bun, just salad on the side I think.  I don't think I've ever really used the bbq so I might as well learn how not to blow it up :P  So there's that option or something with mangoes since those are on sale.

For Poison Resistance's grading, I think I'll add a % bar.  If I hit 100% I fail.  75% I fail.  Each meal will be between 5-10 points.  For example, I had McD's today. 10 points.  A salad would be 5 points.  Sushi and sit down restaurants are not calculated in this (i.e sushi, trip to lone star with the bff).

Yay Crow!

Wrists are one of my banes, too.

Wrists are one of my banes, too.  Crows, handstands, weightlifting . . . they take a lot of stress; and all those little tendons and ligaments need time to strengthen.

I love your Poison Resistance grading! That is a great idea! :D It's probably easier than allocating high points for good food. I like it! :D

Oh I can imagine they are.  They've always been mine due to gaming and drawing, so add drawing plus all this excercise (since I'm not really gaming much atm)...  I'll try to incorporate those into this challenge or maybe dedicate something next challenge for hard mode.

Haha that is the point! It shall be time for you to go exploring :D wooohooo!! :D

heh, I'll try to find stuff.  Can't promise much since I don't have a partner in crime to take pictures.

Ikr?  But really, that's due to getting a raise in Feb.  It gives me much more breathing room to do stuff.

Practice, practice practice.  I'm finding I'm getting much better with practice and the more stretching I do.  Weight lifting would probably help too but meh.  Not yet.

hehehe me too!  I think I'll look at different grading systems for next challenge so I don't get complacent.

Congrats on the crow! I plan to start working on that in a few weeks :)

Wooo!  They're fun to do :)  Glad to see more people working on it.  I only do when it comes up in class.

I can't wait to start working on them myself, but the program I'm doing requires me to master pike push-ups first. That said, I'm only a few weeks away from that, so when those are done, I'm jumping straight into a tip-toe crow progression.

Hey, what kind of defeatist attitude is this? Of course you will, it will just take time. :)

That's a bit of a strange progression. Crow pose is a static balance and very different from push-ups. I'd say go ahead and start playing! :)

Goals for tonight: Grocery shop! (and cook!) lol  I know how hard it is when you have nothing healthy to eat in the house!  I'm planning on making this soon....it's sooo good!

http://paleomg.com/almost-5-ingredient-pizza-spaghetti-pie/

Mmm that looks soooo good.  Maybe I should try that later in the challenge (and replace the onions)...

Haha!  It's more like I forgot to do good groceries in the last few weeks (esp. with the colonoscopy last week, I barely ate until Saturday).  But yea, when you don't have good fresh HEALTHY food in the fridge to prep stuff it's horribly hard.

It's not really a progression, it's more of a pre-requisite. I still work on my handstand push-up progression after starting crow work, but apparently I need a certain baseline of strength to hold myself up there, and being able to do pike push-ups ensures I have said baseline. I'm happy to take it slow.
