Ninja Posted June 4, 2014 Report Share Posted June 4, 2014 I've always been a yo yo dieter. Do good for a couple days, horrible on the weekends. Do good for a few weeks, stop for a few weeks. Lose a few pounds, gain it all back. I've hovered around 240 pounds for about 2 years now. For more of a background, I'm 31, and was skinny fat up until about 25 or 26 when I stopped working retail and started soul crushing desk jobs. I had a push to lose weight and to 205 at one point, but I've ballooned back up to 250 as of Friday. I haven't seen the scale start with a 199 in at least five year so... MAIN QUEST: The main quest for now is simply to weigh less 200 pounds. Will switch to something else once this is accomplished but this is first and foremost. I do have another main goal which is to one day complete a tough mudder run, but that will be another main quest for another time. Before I get to that I want to complete a 5k. But before any of that, this is the main quest. Goal #1: Lose 10 pounds. My basic #1 goal for every challenge until I reach the main quest goal will be lose 10 pounds during the 6 week challenge. A challenging but not impossible amount to reach every 6 weeks. Goal #2: Post in battlelog and challenge every day. I've started plenty of journals various places around the web and the one thing you can count on is if I'm not posting in it that day, my diet has gone horribly wrong. Consistent logging will help me well stay consistent. Goal #3: The plan of attack will this: Keep calories under 2500 6 days a week. Saturday is the standard cheat day. Sometimes co-workers want to go out to lunch so every now and then this will pose slight problems. Get it closer to 2000 though. I put this first because diet is most important. #2, work out 5 days a week, M-F after work. #3 I walk on my lunch breaks if nothing else is going on. So get your lunch walk done 4 out of 5 days a week. Will strive for 5/5 but every now and then there are meetings at work or the whole office goes out to lunch or something. Side Quest: I need to do more with my life than just lose weight. Need to find something better than a dead end 30k a year job. So apply to 5 new jobs during the challenge. By apply I mean custom cover letter and resume, not just resume spam 5 places to say I did it. Improving my financial life is really a secondary main quest to losing weight so every challenge I should shoot for doing something that improves that as well. Thank fully, I at least have no debt. Grading, eh we'll take a look back and see how I did. I'll assign attributes later. Well when I complete the first 3 weeks and get my first set of points I'll set my baseline. For now I think I will start as an Orc Adventurer. Haven't figured out what class I want to be yet, leaning toward Ranger but we'll see. Pick a colour for the top fill-in box and put the percentage in the bottom box. You have good goals, however I noticed in Goal #3, you literally have 3 more goals. You could always split them out and make those your goals (they'd definitely help you lose those 10lbs you're wanting to). We have supplies always dropping off donuts and stuff or when I'm workin off shift like aft most Guys want to order out for lunch. It's tough but you can turn those down. I work at a Subway and god damn it's hard to stick to healthy food when you're surrounded by the smell of melted cheese, bacon, bacon and more bacon and fresh bread. >_< That's the spirit, bro! I have the same problem as you with the dieting/eating, either perfect or horrible. But You can be it, you just have to put your mind to it. Your side quest goal seems like a great idea, to many people rot away at jobs they don't´ enjoy, but few takes action. Good for you! Weigh in on Saturday was about 242 (I have a cheap dial scale). Bad news I can't say the diet was on point any of these days. Friday co-workers wanted to go out to lunch so I did. Going to have to put my foot down this week and decline any offers. Saturday I had intended just a cheat dinner with the gf but that somehow turned into pizza and wings and oh hey lets go donuts too (I wasn't driving). Sunday was a fathers day bbq kind of thing. Did get my workout in Friday night. This is the exact type of shit I need to avoid doing every weekend. Hoping for nice quiet boring weekends until 4th of July at least. But anway down 3 pounds on the challenge. Ninja Posted June 17, 2014 Author Report Share Posted June 17, 2014 For the lazy readers a recap of last week Diet was good M-Thursday, weekend not so good. Lost 3 pounds. Hit my lunch walk 4/5 days. Hit my workouts 5/5 days. Still, the diet is most important, so that needs to be king. I'm the poster child of being able to work out regularly and still be fat. Definitely will have to look into healthier ways to eat out. I'm trying to convince everyone when we go out to go to a sushi place so I can just get some chicken and beef teriyaki. Unfortunately the gf and well her entire family is overweight too, so they don't really think about things the way I do. challenge day 8Day 16The gf came over, I told her just make chicken and rice, she made chicken and mac and cheese. Ugh. And I can't not eat it, everything offends her. We've been fighting enough lately I don't need WW3 because I didn't want to eat her dinner. I know she doesn't want me to lose weight. She's afraid I'm going to leave if I lose weight. I'll estimate the diet around 2500 calories because I only had one serving of the mac and cheese. A pork chop, some corn, some rice, and some mac n cheese. A small serving. Diet was on point rest of the day.
