I would love to learn aikido; it is something I wanted to do with my daughter. But martial arts are generally pretty expensive it seems, and the closest aikido is a long bus ride away. Wish I could just download the information into my brain matrix-style. OneEyedWolfie
Hi Xanrja,I tried a few martial arts since I was a kid but Aikido was great. It was actually Welsh Ki Akido. There are lots of different branches, for example Yoshikan is a very true/ pure form. I tried it but it was very aggressive for me. Ki aikido suited me better. It focused a lot on form. It also being Welsh Aikido, they streamlined it for our way of thinking. Instead of a technique being called - Shomen - uchi ikkajo Osae and me thinking 'crap which hand is that' It was called ikkajo - first form and I was like 'ok got it'. The structure made it easier to learn.Give it a go, normally the first lesson is free. Women are normally better at it too. Thanks for the support. How do I make a link to my challenge by the way? OneEyedWolfie
Hey Devlin,That's a good question. It was weight loss, but after looking around the net, asking some questions and reading a book/ blog of a guy with a PhD (and he is shredded).... My head is spinning a bit.To get my body fat percentage down, I am going to have to have more lean muscle going on. So I might have to rethink my plan.http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/topic/49106-oneeyedwolfies-challenge/I think this link might work Xanjra. The guy, Jim, his workout is herehttp://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/jim-stoppani-six-week-shortcut-to-shred.htmlI can't do exactly what is set here, but I like some of the ideas. Even looking at it now, I am thinking on how I can adapt it around what my back will let me.Wolfie 1 Quote Race: Elf Class: Assasin Level: 3 STR: 4 DEX: 2 STA: 4 CON: 3 WIS: 6 CHA: 4'I might not always win, but I never give up' - BatmanChallenge 1 : http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/topic/49106-oneeyedwolfies-challenge/Challenge 2 : http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/topic/51652-challenge-2-oneeyedwolfies-comeback/Challenge 3: http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/topic/54263-challenge-3-oneeyedwolfies-30-rock-challenge/ Link to comment
