trendywendy's Primal Blueprint for winning the World Cup

The World Cup starts this week and so does this challenge.  Good timing!

 

Group A:  It begins at home - Brasil 22px-Flag_of_Brazil.svg.png

The best exercises pit you against yourself.  I'm going to follow the Primal Blueprint for fitness.  This means dialing it down a notch from the last challenge in frequency but not intensity.  Focusing on the basics:  pushups, pullups, squats, and planking.

 

Group B: Championship material - Spain 23px-Flag_of_Spain.svg.png

Champions can out-run their opponents.  The Primal Blueprint says we need to sprint so sprinting will be done.  There will also be a low intensity run and lots of walking.

 

Group F: Naprijed Bosno Ljubavi moja - Bosnia 23px-Flag_of_Bosnia_and_Herzegovina.svg.

How do you say, "Beat Argentina/Iran/Nigeria!!" in Bosnian?  I don't know and that's shameful.  I should speak more of my partner's language given how long we've been an "us".  Learn at least 5 new Bosnian words a week.  Preferably non-swear words, but let's see how the first match goes. :)

 

Group G: The Group of Death - USA 23px-Flag_of_the_United_States.svg.png

We got a tough draw with Germany, Portugal, and Ghana.  I'm going to need an outlet for the stress.  Enter yoga.  Probably a LOT of yoga.

3x10 Single leg RDL

4x10 Inverted rows (lying down pull-ups)

4x10 BW Squats

4x10 Incline pushups

Walking 4.16

 

This week, I have been eating salata sa jagode i oraÅ¡Äić.  That is, salad (salata) with (sa) strawberries (jagode) and macademia nuts (oraÅ¡Äić).  Just a regular nut is called an orah.  The H is not silent.  I think most of my new words will probably be about food. :)

 

ONE MORE DAY UNTIL THE WORLD CUP I AM SO EXCITES I CANNOT CONCENTRATE ON ANYTHING NOR CAN I USE PROPER PUNCTUATION OR CAPITALIZATION GO USA!!!!!

I love your challenge, both the goals (lots of things which I am also trying to do) and also the theme. I am going to try not to send all of my evenings in front of the tv watching the world cup, but it could happen. Good luck to Bosnia and the USA.

 

Do you have a plan for which words you are going to learn? I got a book of the 2000 most used words in German and found it very motivating to know that I am definitely learning common and useful words. I'm sure something similar exists online for Bosnian too.

Running - 45 minutes; 4.20 miles  (I laughed because it's so NAG42 to run 4.2 miles)

 

Week 2 - Monday:

Yogamazing for Posture

 

Also been doing lots of walking from coffeeshop to cafe to pop-up beer garden (that also has great coffee for me) to the next place to watch the World Cup. 

 

Speaking of the World Cup....  Score one for the Rocket Pops.  Off to fight Bambi and Company on Sunday.

Thanks!  I don't really have a plan for what words I'll learn so that's a very good idea.  So far it's been foods.  I should branch out :)

I think I over-committed myself a bit this challenge.  I've been keeping up with the goals just fine but I am utter crap at logging!  I have World Cup Brain and also started in a new role leading a team at work. So....there isn't much of a window to get in non-work screen time as I ramp up with the new assignment.  Massive game of Paleo Approved Ketchup here... :)

 

Week 2 - Friday:

Primal Blueprint w/o

2x 60s planking

4x10 RDL

3x12 Alternating shoulder press

4x10 BW Squats

3x12 Wide grip pulldowns

 

Week 2 - Saturday:

Running - 4.06 miles/45 minutes

 

Week 2 - Sunday:

Raised blood pressure for 95 minutes, plus some walking around the city (6.69 miles)

 

Week 3 - Monday:

Yoga

 

Week 3 - Tuesday:

Primal Blueprint w/o

3x 60s planking - woot!  Added another set here!

3x10 Single leg RDL

4x10 Inverted rows (lying down pull-ups)

4x10 BW Squats

5x10 Incline pushups Added another set here because I lost count due to horsing around in the gym.
