Jonesy
I don't really want to do a challenge and I don't want to work out but I'm taking it as a sign that I happened to stop by on the day a new challenge started.I've been feeling horrible, tired, cranky and unmotivated for a while. I attempted to do a challenge last April (not successful), I went dark. It's been a stressful few months for me and I'm tired all the time. I don't have much motivation to do anything except work, social obligations and watch a lot of Netflix. I've been eating like crap and run up my credit card bills. I need to get back in shape physically, mentally and financially. This challenge is going to be pretty simple and something to hopefully spark my motivation.Goal 1 2 min Plank Challenge10 second increases over 6 weeks to hit 2 mins or more. I have not done a plank since the beginning of April so I'm going with a 2 min plank challenge. Week 1 - 10s, 20s, & 30sWeek 2 - 30s, 40s, & 50sWeek 3 - 50s, 60s, & 70sWeek 4 - 80s, 90s, & 100sWeek 5 - 100s & 110sWeek 6 - 120s Goal 2 Get to the Gym!Time to help combat my laziness. Part of this challenge is actually getting off my lazy butt and getting to the gym, WK 1-3 : 1x & WK 4-6: 2x.Goal 3 In bed by 11pm (weekdays) & 12am (weekends) with lunch madeI need more sleep and I need to stop buying lunch. Hiraedd
Hey Jonsey! Good to see you!!! I have to say, that 3 min plank challenge looks a little daunting. I'd maybe scale back to a 1 min plank challenge, and give yourself some bonus points for everything you can do beyond that. If you haven't planked in a year, chances are it's going to be more painful than you remember. Can't wait to see you rock this! Hiraedd the Twice Risen: Hamadryad; Pilgrim battle log Link to comment

While 3 mins does look daunting, I know I can get to 1 min pretty easily. I've never hit or tried over 1.5 mins, so maybe 2 mins would be a better idea. Thank you for pointing that out and maybe after doing my first one tonight I'll get a better idea of where I'm at, haha. Jonesy
Decided to go to bed early Wednesday so I could get up at 4:50am to go to the gym. I woke up on time, didn't hit snooze and went to the gym. My plan was to just do 30 mins on the elliptical but I have not done the elliptical in a long time and it was a lot tougher than I remember. Instead I did 15 mins on the elliptical and weights. Jonesy
Stayed home from work Monday and Tuesday, I don't think I've ever had 2 sick days in a row before...On Monday I had worst migraine. Every time I would open my eyes my head would hurt and felt like spikes in my brain. Tuesday every time I moved I wanted to throw up and today I feel like my brain is mush and its hard to focus. Planks have not been happening since Sunday but I'll catch up on those ASAP. Bed times have varied but before 11pm. I remember us talking about headaches being lessened during the whole 30. How are you doing? Ohh ok I think I know which one. I have been doing really good in the headache department until Monday. I'm not sure if it was allergies or if I caught my friends head cold but it was a doozy. I've been thinking about trying another whole 30 again but I think I'm going to do a few weeks, a whole 20, take a week off then try for another. I'm going to be super stressed and pushed to the max for the next few months and I'm not sure if I can do a Whole 30 at this time but I want to try something to get back on track, eating wise. Jonesy
This challenge was super tough for me. I've been planning my sisters Bridal Shower since before this challenge and it tanked my motivation to follow my challenge. I still kept track though! I rocked the first week but as time got closer to the end, also the day of my sisters Bridal shower, I went down hill. I need a better outlet for dealing with stress. This challenge I was emotionally and physically stressed out and it made me want to lay around and watch TV, when I was not making decorations and invitations. While I feel horrible that I didn't pass my challenge, I am super proud of the shower I planned for my sister. It cost too damn much, I made way too much food, I feel like it needed more decorations but overall we had a blast. Made Nom Nom Paleo's Asian Meatballs for the shower and they LOVED them. Here are my results for this challenge. Goal 12 min Plank Challenge - DI started out great but I got behind and felt like I needed to catch up. At that point I was slightly going insane from planning a big party that I just stopped doing the planks. 12 out of 42 - Not an F but not that great - D Goal 2Get to the Gym - FailTime to help combat my laziness. Part of this challenge is actually getting off my lazy butt and getting to the gym, WK 1-3 : 1x & WK 4-6: 2x. I went once. That was a great workout and I'd like to say that I did get a form of working out down, walking around for 4 hours and lifting heavy craft material isn't the same. Although I swear, after the Bridal shower, my body felt like it had ran a 5K without training before hand. Goal 3 - BIn bed by 11pm (weekdays) & 12am (weekends) with lunch madeI need more sleep and I need to stop buying lunch. This goal was not as hard to do. I was either exhausted from the day so I wanted to go to bed on time or I was so stressed that I HAD to get that one extra tissue flower done and went to bed too late. Lunches were easy to keep on track of since I didn't have any extra money to spend on eating out. 32 out of 42 - B Overall - D+ Tracking GoodReads MyFitnessPal Spoiler Previous Challenges: 2020: 1.20 - 2019: 1.19 l 2.19 2018: 1.18 l 2.18 l 3.18 l 4.18 l 5.18 l 6.18 l 7.18 2017: 1.17 I 2.17 I 3.17 I 4.17 I 5.17 l 6.17 l 7.17 l 8.17 I 9.17 l 10.17 2016: 1.16 l 2.16 l DA v.1 l DA v.2 I DA v.2 Reloaded I DA v.3 I DA v.4 I 8.16 I 9.16 I DA v.5 I 11.16 2012: 1 2013: 2 l 3 l 4 l 5 l 6 l 7 l 8 2014: 9 l 10 l Not Done Yet l Time to Conquer l Conquering HFC for Life! Teros
I need a better outlet for dealing with stress.Glad to hear you survived. What have you tried to do to deal with stress? If there's no replacement for food, sooner or later the junk is going to catch up. Besides that generic 'go for a walk' that people suggest; what about swinging a sledgehammer around? Or maybe boxing? Dancing? 1 glass of wine at night? Meditation? Yoga? There's a few options. I've had a hard time replacing food as my crutch but I think with planning my food ahead of time; I don't have enough motivation to cheat. Then it's a matter of following one of those. Tried meditating; didn't quite work for me and I'm NOT a dancer. I've gone with this and it seems to have helped keep me in better spirits: Link to comment

Now her wedding needs to be over with! All of those sound like fantastic ideas and I love that board! Consciously I don't think I've tried anything for stress. Looking back, I think I've just done something that I wanted to do that I knew would make me feel better. I tried meditation before but I didn't use it to help with stress, It just made me want to sleep. I didn't really try to deal with the stress this time. Unless you call watching netflix for hours after work, as dealing with it? I kind of just embraced it since I knew it would be over soon. I didn't really think of the larger picture. I just knew that I had a deadline, I didn't have enough money, help or time to get it the way I wanted. I think I tend to just let stress, extreme happiness, extreme rage etc out because I so rarely have to deal with those emotions. 90% of the time, I'm a super calm, chill, happy person and I only react to extreme emotions. I don't know how to handle them because I rarely experience them. I kind of sound creepy lol. If I feel like that again I could always use music. There are just some songs that make me emotionally happy. I should probably make a stress relief mix. I can dance around the house to it or something. I've been thinking of doing a new vision / motivation board. I have one but I hardly see it anymore. I mean it's right there in my bedroom but I just don't notice it like I used to.
