Jess Fit comes back home

For food tracking I'm back on my finess pal, for the blog it is going to be hosted on blogger, and then I'm old school as far as journaling and I actually hand write journals a lot of evenings.

Yeah, yoga+kitteh=hard! I'm trying to flow from down dog to crocodile and she's under me, I'm trying for cobra and she's on top of me, I'm in warrior and she's sitting on my foot or scratching at my leg. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled that she loves her mum-mum as much as she does, it just adds an element of challenge to yoga

A friend of mine is posting prompts for each day.  I've been following those just because I'd talk about the World Cup every day otherwise and while that excites ME beyond belief, I'm sure it would bore everyone else to tears.  I have all of my posts locked so that only friends can see them so if you do join the site, let me know and I'll add you as a friend!

HONEY I'M HOME!

Hi guys, I have missed you, but I think of you so often! I'm happy to be back. Since February when I last really did a challenge I have become much less responsible :/ so I am back to fix that! So, goals:

...

Welcome back, Jill!

IIRC, you are a trainer right? So you are adding yoga teaching to it? Cool.

We just finished watching the thrid match of the day, Hooray World Cup!

I also need to devote consistent time to writing prompts, or writing practice at least. I have ideas for writing projects but when I sit down to write, writing doesn't happen. More practice is needed.

Wendy, I will, that sounds super cool!

Tennis geek, not a certified trainer but looking into it. I am getting some experience by helping my friends with training.

Ok so my diet went to shit this weekend and my brother may have broken my finger today playing air hockey... We rock like that, so tonight's gym visit is getting pushed off until tomorrow and I may go for a run instead. I'm glad I got in an hour of yoga this week already because I doubt I could put pressure on my hand. However I'm also working on some crafts for a friend of a friend. She's having a tough time the last few months and our mutual friend has her doing starting strength to try to toughen her up in a couple different ways. I'm so happy she is lifting so I've made her a gym tote, some head bands, and I've been trying to decorate shoelaces. I've got a couple other crafts that I am working on and I will throw them in the bag with a shaker cup and some deadlift socks and some cliff bars. I am hoping to put all these crafts on the blog so while I haven't yet written the two posts I have done a fair bit of work for the blog. Yay!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Hey! The swelling has finally gone down, did a playground workout and sprints on Monday and some yoga yesterday and it held up to yoga ok so I'm going to try to lift tomorrow :) it's not broken but it is all dark red from what I assume are lots and lots of broken blood vessels. Also checking out some options for yoga classes for friends before I go and try to do my volunteer teaching.

Question: is anyone an ace certified personal Trainer? I'm currently looking into the program. Seems straightforwArd.

That is a fantastic shirt, almost as good as this shirt that I just got. It says "I workout so I can carry more books" ytuzebam.jpg

I'm afraid ace is a waste of money Wendy, i don't know so i am researching it. Here is to hoping

Lifted last night, 155 squat, 80 bench (it was bad, really bad), and 185 deadlift. Today I want to eat all the things!

Speaking of, this whole tracking thing is super stressful because I've had some eating issues in the past. I may swap it out for reading one health/fitness book a week. I shall think on it.

Happy weekend all!

Love the Shirt! The first thing I thought of was a Hermione Granger that works out, how bad ass!

Thanks guys! Jenn, that makes me so happy :)

Update for week 2:

Workouts 2/2

Yoga 40/60min

Tracking/reading- abandoning the tracking, it just stresses me out too much and makes me want to pick up old bad habits like not eating. We really don't want that. So instead I read "cave women don't get fat" and it's an ok book. Decent introduction to paleo and the recipes look good. The author contradicts herself occasionally and sometimes just doesn't make any sense at all but it's better than "paleoista" that I read a few weeks ago. This weeks book is "yoga anatomy"

Blog: I made a number of crafts and have done preliminary work on a bunch of posts but not actually written any posts yet. Got to get on that since I have a little under two weeks until I want to launch it.

Happy Monday all!

Ok so this is so random but I have to share with someone. My best friend told me that I got a present when I squatted 185, so I did it a couple weeks ago for one rep and he bought me the 1948 issue of strength and fitness magazine with abbye Stockton on the cover. I'm big into history, and I really love her so this is beyond thrilling to me. Only me, but me. I'm exited to read a fitness magazine from the 40s and see what it says!

Have you ever heard of abbye Stockton? She was a bamf. Probably the first woman on the cover of a fitness magazine. In the 40s when women didn't really exercise she not only exercised but lifted weights on muscle beach with the likes of joe gold (golds gym) and other iconic figures. She was strong enough to lift her husband over her head. She was the first real female lifter (other than a few previous circus women who were mostly considered freaks) and she lifted with her hair looking amazing and sometimes nail polish on. She's the original proof that strong and feminine go together. She even wrote an article called "barbelle" for other women who wanted to lift. Those articles are what my blog is being named after. I love her so much and I am so excited for this magazine to show up. He does know how to pick out great gifts

She didn't just lift her husband, they did a hand to hand balance as well.  Very impressive all the way around.

Don't be so hard on yourself. Some times other things take priority.

I will say that the key to success is just showing up. It's easy to talk ourselves out of doing things that are good for us because they are 'hard'. If it wasn't hard then everyone would do it. Sometimes if you just show up to the gym or get your work out clothes on etc. your momentum will pull you through.

As for eating out, well we should all have live-in cooks. Preparing food is so time consuming and we eat every day ... seriously it is exhausting. Hopefully while eating out you try to eat healthier options.

Although I am currently craving a burrito in the worst way.

... and cookies

... and pancakes

I've gone too far.

I'm a time traveler, but I can only go one way and only a second at a time.

Haha ok so I do have a freshii, chipotle, panera, and protein bar all within 2 blocks of work. Eating out isn't horrific as it could be.

Also, I put on workout clothes and they are so comfy that I lay around, hehehe

Thanks bats, I think in part I need to discover why I don't have motivation. Normally I'm busy and still workout, lately I've been sacrificing the workouts and I think I'm not Motivated. Must figure out why and address it
