I'm down almost 5kg from the last time I weighed in for a meet! I hardly ever weigh myself, but I've been feeling good so I did on Sunday. I weighed 109.7 and the last time I weighed in for a meet I was 114.4 (on May 4). I'm stoked that the scale is going the right direction and I'm feeling stronger. Can't wait to rock the platform at nationals, which is now LESS THAN 4 WEEKS AWAY! I'm going into nationals at 11/24, so I should be in the A session, but I won't know for sure until they release the official start list (which was supposed to be on 6/21... grrrr...). I can't wait to rock the platform and get some PRs!!! I'll keep my thread updated with the information about live feeds and such. AngelaTheGeek
Fell behind on posting in the last few weeks before Nationals, but I here's the update and results: -------------- GUYS! HEY GUYS! I LOVE YOU!!!First, results!Snatches:81x - Threw this one completely over my head. I was a little shocked at how light it was and just threw it a little past center and lost it behind me.81 - Solid.84x - This one started about an inch too far in front and I just couldn't finish my pull. Dammit. I shouldn't be making these mistakes and I should be snatching 90. I calmed down for clean and jerks, but also watched Holley Mangold manhandle 104kg. Oooooh. Myyyyy. GLOB!Clean and Jerks:100 - Easy.105 - Easy.108 (PR!) - Took a little walk with it, but I had it locked out overhead, so I knew it wasn't going anywhere. 110+ coming very soon.PR TOTAL: 189All weights in kilograms. For pounds, multiply by 2.2.I promise I will get you pictures and/or videos when I get them. The hookgrip guy is already on his way to China, so I don't know when he'll have his stuff ready. My Nerd Fitness family showed me so much love and support this weekend. I want you all to know that I thought about my fellow rebels all weekend! I knew you were watching, and I wanted to make you proud! I cried when I read all of the wonderful things you said while watching me! THANK YOU SO MUCH my rebel friends!Nerd Fitness is what got me into weightlifting in the first place. It all started with that awesome article about someone that is not only my hero, but now also someone I consider a dear friend, Staci! You all know the one:Meet Staci: Your New Powerlifting Super HeroI am working on a proper write up, but just know that this is where it all began. Thank you Staci, and Steve, for all that you do for us self-proclaimed nerds, geeks, and dorks. I wear the Nerd Fitness name proud and am a true rebel at heart. And thank you again, my fellow rebels! msuroo
Great job on Sunday! I tuned in just in time to catch your second snatch attempt (rock solid, btw). Unfortunately, the stream started to get choppy towards the end of the snatches (around when Holley started lifting - coincidence?), and stayed crappy throughout the C&Js. Of your 108 kg lift, I was able to see the clean live and the jerk on the replay, so it's almost like I watched it? . Either way, super proud of you - can't wait to see how much better you do next year! Side note - I was super impressed with the commentary. Those guys were on top of it, and really did their homework. 1 Quote Challenge thread Link to comment

AngelaTheGeek
Any particular reason for 105kg? He's been watching me for a few years now and notices significant speed increases when I'm below 110, but doesn't think I need to be less than 100 since I'm never going to drop down to the 75 class anyway, So, we agreed that 105 would be a good place for me. It will probably fluctuate, but be pretty close to that at competitions. AngelaTheGeek
Friday, 8/1 Training Power Jerk + OHS 3x3, 3x2, 3x155, 65, 76 These are always interesting... Those closer grip means I have to concentrate more on keeping my heels on the ground, but I actually have a wide jerk grip, so it's not too bad. 2 clean pulls, 2 cleans, power jerk from blocks 9x145, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75 - cut it here. My back was having no part of these. My coach is a huge proponent of listening to your body, so when my back starts hurting, I stop. I also don't have blocks at Gold's, so I had to make due with stacking plates, but that wasn't going very well because of how many times the bar comes back down in the set. I'll have to figure something out for next time.
