Hey Rebels, 

 

Making my first log of food and exercise in the Nerd Fitness forum. 

 

I'm kickstarting my new lifestyle with Beach Body's 21 Day Fix for a lot of reasons, the main one being that my mom is now a Beach Body coach and she needed a guinea pig, and also I really like Shakeology as a supplement. Today is the first day. I like the eating plan so far, though I don't generally like to eat as many grains as it encourages.

 

Exercise:

Full-Body Cardio Fix, 30 minutes of weighted cardio

 

Breakfast:

2 hard-boiled eggs, about 16 dark cherries, 1 cup Kashi whole-grain cereal

 

Snack 1:

Shake, containing:

1 scoop Shakeology Vanilla mix

1 teaspoon almond butter

1/2 cup almond milk

ice

 

Lunch:

Grilled chicken breast, about 5oz

1 Tbsp. bbq sauce (homemade)

1 slice whole grain bread

1/2 cup sliced carrots, raw

1 cup snap peas, raw

 

Snack 2:

4oz sliced ham

guacamole, about 3 tbsp.

 

I'll keep updating as the day goes on, but I've consumed 50oz of water so far today (it's about 2:30pm where I am)

To finish the day: 

 

Dinner:

Chicken breast, baked with spinach and mushrooms

3 small sweet red peppers

yellow squash and onions, sauteed with almond milk and almond meal.

 

An additional 25oz of water.

2 boiled eggs

1/2 cup whole grain cereal

1 cup blueberries + blackberries

 

Snack 1: 

Vanilla Shakeology + Almond butter + Almond milk + Cinnamon

1/2 chopped salad, 1/2 tablespoon of dressing, chopped almonds.

 

Water consumption: I'm on my third 25oz shaker bottle

Dinner Last night:

 

2 Carne Asada tacos, Ear of roasted corn

 

Exercise today: Lower Body Fix - HIIT Leg strength training 

 

I was running late today, so I didn't pack as much food as I should have.

 

 

Breakfast:

 

Shakeology, almond milk, ice

 

Lunch:

 

Chopped Salad with Tuna and almonds

Orange

 

25oz of water so far.

Breakfast - Shakeology, 1 tsp almond butter, almond milk, ice

 

Snack - Banana and 2 tsps peanut butter

 

Lunch - Chicken with spinach and mushrooms

 

Dinner - 2 Chicken Sausages, 1 ear of corn

 

75oz of water

Wow, I am a few days behind.

 

For the days I skipped, I'll talk about the exercise I did and leave it at that.

 

Friday: 30 minutes of calisthenics

 

Saturday: 30 minutes of HIIT strength training

 

Sunday: 90 minutes of outdoor yoga

 

Monday: 30 minutes of weighted calisthenics

 

Tuesday: 30 minutes upper body strength training

Okay, so this week is the last week of my 21 day fix (which I'll probably keep using off and on), so I am doing 2-a-days.

 

Monday: Full Body Weighted Cardio and Pilates (ouch)

Tuesday: Upper Body and Calisthenics (probably my least favorite workouts, but I felt like I overcame something) and then, because I did not feel great after cardio I did 35 minutes of my favorite restorative yoga practice - I noticed that my poses felt much more successful, and I got a lot out of it. Really exciting. 

Wednesday: Lower Body and 10 minute abs fix (ouch again)

 

I way overslept today so I have full body weighted cardio and pilates waiting for me when I get home, trying to stay psyched about it.

Hey look! This thread exists! My 21-Day Fix ended, and I have now started PiYo (another BeachBody program). PiYo is a mix of yoga and pilates, at a fast pace. I'm only two days into it, and so far it's not my bag of chips, because of the pace. You may notice that I am a druid, so mindful movement is important to me. I wish it went a little slower, a little more observatory. I think I'll get used to it. I've noticed my flexibility, endurance and strength is steadily improving, and that makes me really happy.
