Hence I STILL have sore muscles I tried to do some light yoga. It was raining really hard just moments ago so I decided to do some sun salutations.

I still have problems with the transition from plank to cobra and from cobra to downward dog, but after 10 min sun salutation the rain stopped.

Coincidence? I think not ;)

Did some nice leg extensions for my poor legs and called it a day.

Definitly will do some lighter exercise in the future!

Are you doing plank on knees or feet? Remember not to tray to "achieve". Make the pose your pose and make it work for you. The cobra can be really small. Take baby steps, play with it and have fun......

Light yoga because I did them in my own pace and didn't watch a video and tried to follow it.

I was really slow and focussed on breathing and transitions. And the streches were really the ones I liked most... like pigeon etc.

It seems to me, the transition from plank to cobra shall be that you lower your chest first and move it forward, but I always crash down trying this.

I usually lower my whole body and lay down the knees first, then bend the back to come into cobra-like position.

Transition to downward dog is similar, have to use knee support too.

Will work on that this challenge.

Distance of heels to ground looks like 5 cm. If I move the feet more forward I can place them on the ground so I have to be carefull not to cheat myself!

Ok, good, doing this at your own pace is excellent. Let the breath guide you. Controlling plank is a lot about core stability. You will get there with practice. Don't bend the back in cobra as much as you just slightly lift your heart. Use knee support whenever you want.

Moving feet while in downward dog is not cheating  :nevreness:

Just my thoughts, I come from the Hatha tradition working with flows and individual yoga.

I like crochet and I think I'd like sewing as well if I ever got a machine. I really need to get back into yoga.

I agree with some of the others, some of your goals are really broad which can make it hard to know how well you completed them.

Best of luck to you in your challenges!

I'll see how it works and tweak it as needed. I still work on setting good goals, but as you said, challenges should be challenging.

People always say, "When the time is right..." or "I'm waiting for the perfect..." Guess what the right time never comes along, the perfect moment, guy, gal or opportunity will never drop into your lap. Don't wait, start now. Do what is necessary, then what's possible... and suddenly you're doing the impossible.

I'm shaman too :)

I have set my goal high to keep me fired up.

I especially need kicks in the butt after the first 2 weeks. In the first 2 weeks I'm super fired up and want to do all the things. Then I tend to slop...

I rewarded myself for the last challenge with a cute new meassurements tape .

Reward challenge 1 finished

Meassurements:

Current: (meassured on sunday, 27th)

Chest -     99   cm/ 39"

Waist  -    81,3 cm/ 32"

Hips    - 109.8 cm/ 43"

Goal:

Chest – 88cm /34.5 inch  (-11 cm/ 4.5 inch)

Waist – 72 cm / 28.5 inch (-9.3 cm/3.5 inch)

Hips - 103 cm / 40.5 inch  (-6.8 cm/ 2.5 inch)

This time I meassured with a dressy bra... last challenge I meassured w/ sports bra but I think I should rather meassure w/ a every day bra since this is what I'm sewing for.

Got some pic for you.

This was 2010, pre college and pre boyfriend:

dress and jeans 2010

  dress and jeans

Skirt 2010

skirt ( sry for the dark pic)

And this is the dress now:

dress 2014

I didn't try on the jeans and skirt since they are both size 28 and I recently wear size 34 :/

(At least 34 is loose now :D )

It's very easy to gain weight gradually. You won't notice one or two kilograms a year, unless you measure yourself or step on a scale regularly. The most important is that you want to get back to your old figure again, not what your figure is like now ;).

Yes. To be honest, I know pretty well, how I gained that much.

I adopted some bad habits because I fell in love. Drinking soda and eating at Burger K*Ng and McD, more sedatary livestyle, eating bigger portions.... adds up fast :)

Did planks again... 19 secs! It surprised me that it's not difficult at all for the arms but totally core work.

Heard it before but didn't really believe it.
