This is Sparta........I mean Seven.

Recommended Posts

Have been watching far too many glorified Ancient Civilisation movies and TV programs with the Lads. 300, 300x2, Spartacus, Troy, and reading far too many David Gemmell books, but it got me to thinking about how survival of the fittest was so important to many civilisations in the beginning.

The last Challenge ended with a whimper, which was rather a personal disappointment to the nth degree, but hey, I didn't die with a sword in my chest or an arrow in my aortic artery. So I have come back to redo the pitiful excuse that was my last effort.

Main goals:

Stronglifts 3 times a week which is a given as it IS the program.

Swim 4x a week, because I have access to a pool. Goal here is 1 km a day, try and work up to 2 km a day. Various strokes and drills

Get that bloody gym membership, no excuse now I will be passing through town 4x a week, and I will need their equipment, until my SO has built the power rack for me and I have a proper bench, not a plank of wood, an esky and milk crates.

Finish the Lads work portfolio's for our moderator visit, ( this is particularly important because I need to manage my time as I need to use my Mum's computer and printer as both of mine have shit themselves ) going to be a challenge in itself, but time management is a must.

Start work with a bang, again time management, get my lesson plans out and really get on top of this for the 18th of August, be the best swimming teacher I can be and try to like the kids I am working with ( I really do not like other peoples children on the most part ).

Put my pay packet to good use, this little extra money can help us, but I need to do it right.

I think that is about it, achievable goals all. Keen for it!

This is Seven. :)

We teach all primary school age across the different levels. Over here we have Stages, Stage 1 typically your year 1 and 2's, Stage 7 typically years 4,5 or 6. We finish at stage 12/13 then they can move onto Bronze Medallion which is our Life Saving level, you should be 15 or 16 by this time as it requires a fair amount of stamina and nerve.

As with everything we have exceptional swimmers, year 5 kids who are 10 years old who can do a level 12, but get held up because of the maturity level needed and the life saving techniques need body strength which young kids just don't possess.

I really love seeing the kids actually having their Ah-ha moment when a stroke all comes together for them, just magic. That's when they really shine.

Tree planting today in the cold and wet, all went well though, finished a thousand trees and the lads got all muddy. Got home and de cluttered the school room and finished their program for the week. I also found some display files for their portfolio's, so I guess that could count as a start to this challenge.

Weight 93.4 kg, yeah not happy Jan, but hardly surprising considering what has been shovelled into the pie hole. BF% approx 21-25%

Pretty happy with the Deadlift of 45kg, my first note worthy PR.

Sleepless last night so had me a Riddick Fest. So was surprised how good I felt lifting this morning. Beginner Gainz! :)

Warriors don't count reps and sets. They count tons.

So I have not done the last workout of week two,

Friday Emergency roster, ( had a very sad/crappy pick up just before my shift finished ), birthday dinner for the twins 18th at the pub and their first legal beer.

Saturday to the city to pick up friends for the twins, back home, set up for the party bash, which means huge fire, lots of sausages and bread rolls and alcohol.

Sunday back to the city with the friends, back to the next town for soccer, back home and start the clean up......which means all the swags and bodies are now out of my shed! I can now get to my weights!

What a weekend and in the middle of this fellow officer asks if I could do the Monday day shift as his wife is going in for an operation, so I am in town again today, but that's all good.

Lifting some fucking weight tonight!

Son and I smashed it out! His squat was a bit better but he has a tendency to lean forward coming back up and his legs wobble, like a baby giraffe! :)

My wife has that happen, I refer to it as "new baby deer squats" :D

Son and I totally smashed it out today, his squats are improving fast, might have been the amount of time yesterday we spent on youtube watching squat vids, Scott Herman, Candito and Ripptoe.

I OHP, 37.2 kg for 5 reps, even though it was a stuff up with putting on the plates, but hey I did it!! :)

Have been working on some of my other goals, have formulated what I want to put into the Lads portfolio's and have dug out all my swimming stuff. Slowly getting there! :)

37.2kg is great work Seven. That's 82lb for the metrically challenged.
