OptimusPrimarch
Cooked last night, made fajitas but with lettuce as the wrap. OptimusPrimarch
I thought about cabbage too, not a huge fan of it raw though; it might be worth it for the trade off of more fajita in a single leaf.. lvl 4 Astartes Monk STR 8.5 | STA 9.5 | CON 6.5 | DEX 7.75 | WIS 10 | CHA 7.25"Burn the Calorie, Kill the Workout, Purge the Apathy"Push Up Challenge: Yellow Belt (36) Link to comment
SevenFootGeek
I have an easy breakfast for you. Scrambled egg, half an avocado, half a cup of salsa. Shred some cheese on top if you're fancy. Chipotle rubbed old cheddar if you're super fancy. Now for dinner. Take a pound of beef. Shred a zucchini. Crack an egg. Chop some green onions and a jalapeno. Mince a clove of garlic. Mix. Bam. Oat-free burgers. To accompany, bake a sweet potato like you would a regular baked potato. These are super easy because you can pop them in the oven (or barbecue if you have access to one) as soon as you get home and take your time with everything. It's just wrap in foil, put in cold oven, turn on and leave a timer for 45 min - 1 hour. Where's the greens, you ask? Baby spinach, chopped red onion, strawberries, feta cheese, balsamic vinaigrette. Increase volume for leftovers or bulk cooking. You're welcome. 2 Half-Giant Monk current challenge "Promote yourself, but do not demote another." Yisroel Salanter Link to comment
OptimusPrimarch
Those burgers sound great, I'll have a BBQ soon and will be able to try stuff like that! SevenFootGeek
The beauty of the shredded zucchini is that not only do they keep the burgers moist when you cook them, but they also contribute to keeping them moist and delicious after reheating. OptimusPrimarch
Wednesday in class got in my first bit of stick work for the week, 25 minutes Friday Workout: 6x3 Assisted Pistol Squats6x3 Decline Pike Pushups6x3 Straight Leg Leg Lifts6x3 Incline One arm pushups6x3 Elevated Leg Inverted Rows60 second wall plank Saturday in class I got my stick work done, 35 minutes. I was lucky because a green belt I was working with was getting ready to grade and stick work is first introduced at that rank, so I got to do lots of stick work with them. Saturday night I cooked again! This is really the area that I'm doing well in, I'm exceeding my own expectations in a huge way and it is making me very happy. Eggs with veggies scramble with bacon and sweet potato pancakes. grated sweet potato very fine, added onion and egg made them into patties and fried them in the bacon fat. Only thing that could have been better would be if I had drained the sweet potatos more after I grated them, there was a lot of water and that impacted the eggs' ability to hold the patties together while I fried them. 1 lvl 4 Astartes Monk STR 8.5 | STA 9.5 | CON 6.5 | DEX 7.75 | WIS 10 | CHA 7.25"Burn the Calorie, Kill the Workout, Purge the Apathy"Push Up Challenge: Yellow Belt (36) Link to comment

Now I see they are the same Now this thread is making me drool. mmmmhmmm... how much time did you spend watching the other videos on that channel? Food porn and awesome workout videos. You can do those? Awesome! I can, they burn but I can crank out a decent set in good form. I just wish I had a base that would let me do them at home. Yup. Dragon flies/flags are not for the weak. If you can hit that full range, then you're pretty powerful in the core place, and if I wasn't following a program, I'd be able to ply you for secrets. I've been thinking about that myself K, because I didn't expect to be able to do them as cleanly as I did. My theory is that I've lost about 20 lbs or so over the past year and a bit and that made all bodyweight exercises that much easier as a result. Also one of the yoga/stretch routines I do involves a shoulder stand into plough which probably helped. lvl 4 Astartes Monk STR 8.5 | STA 9.5 | CON 6.5 | DEX 7.75 | WIS 10 | CHA 7.25"Burn the Calorie, Kill the Workout, Purge the Apathy"Push Up Challenge: Yellow Belt (36) Link to comment
Kishi
Ooh, that makes perfect sense. Shoulder stand into plow is basically the eccentric portion of that contraction. So, when you do that routine, you train the more powerful muscles involved in that movement. A concentric contraction would be feasible, in theory, given that you got better at controlling that transition over time, which I'm sure you did. OptimusPrimarch
So Monday night I cooked, BBQed for the first time on the new BBQ. Made burgers and veggies but I made the patties myself! Helped one of the kids grade after class too. I'm often used for gradings because I'm in the "Goldilocks" zone of height and weight that allows me to work with practically anyone. Skipped the workout Wednesday, I was starting to feel a bit creaky in the joints so I figured that I wouldn't beat myself up too much about it. Also I actually participated in the general fitness portion of the class on Tuesday so that helped me not worry about it. 1 lvl 4 Astartes Monk STR 8.5 | STA 9.5 | CON 6.5 | DEX 7.75 | WIS 10 | CHA 7.25"Burn the Calorie, Kill the Workout, Purge the Apathy"Push Up Challenge: Yellow Belt (36) Link to comment
