starpuck
THE WAYS OF FUTURE PAST Part 1 – Finding My Way AgainLast summer when I first found and joined Nerd Fitness, I embarked on a journey that awarded me fantastic results that were both very noticeable, and also came pretty quickly. I have stumbled since then, and it has caused me great regret and disappointment. I MUST find my way again. More importantly, I must find my Hope that this is an achievable lifestyle that I will sustain. Goal: Check in on NF at least 4x/week for all 6 weeks. Part 2 – Beast ModeNo more worrying about my body shape. This is what it is. I’ll exercise it to keep it healthy, strong and full of life. …and whatever it ends up looking like? I will accept it. Starpuck and Proud! Exercise goals:Lift 3x a weekMobility 3x a weekOther (hockey/bike/run/walk) 2-3x a weekRest –MUST incorporate an actual rest day! Part 3 – Eat, don’t FreakLast summer when I did so well? I wasn’t tracking. I was simply eating what I playfully dubbed as PaleoALMOST. It was more Primaly maybe? I dunno. Basically. Limit the stuff that comes in boxes and plastic wrap, eat more things that have only itself as an ingredient, and most of all, don’t freak out about every last calorie and macro. I know when I am being on track and when I’ve said fuck it. I MIGHT copy Wufkar and get me an Instagram account JUST as a way to take pics of what I am eating and post it for accountability. We'll see how it goes. Goal: 6 weeks of eating without obsessing. Part 4 – Find all the MutantsThis is a side project I want to work on because I keep thinking about it and want to start actually DOING it. I love traveling and I have a goal of hitting all 59 National Parks in my adult lifetime. Sine 2006 I have visited 24 of them. I would like to pick a picture from each park to have nicely framed, with a placard showing the year visited, to hang in my office at work. I need to go through all my old albums, and pick out which picture should represent each park. I might even recruit some Nerd help and do it poll style! Goal: Pick out 22 pictures (2 parks will not be visited until after this challenge) for use in this project. starpuck
Ugh. I hope the body recovers from yesterdays project before tomorrow - because ow. Moved about 600 pounds of pond pebbles out from under the bird feeder. Sifted through all 600 pounds of pond pebbles to clean the years old seed/droppings/compost action from the rocks.Moved 400 pounds of pond pebbles to other side of garden.Weeded the ENTIRE garden.Bought 9 new path stones for under the bird feeder. (In hopes this will minimize that whole seedling soil production thing).Edged the lawn. Burnt out the edger motor, so went and picked up a new one. Finished edging the yard. All told, we started at 8:30 and finished at 4:30 - I wish I had my HRM on, because I'd have liked to finally learn how many calories physical labor yard work burns. And I put myself to bed at 10pm!! HAHAHAHA. Today I have to mow the lawn still and do the final weed-whacking. But, holy crap on a cracker, my hamstrings are so pissed at me lol.I think it will be an easy day today. Mow lawn, tweak final things, then veg out. 1 Level 80 ~*~ Ranger Deviant Art Gallery || YouTube Channel Current Challenge "It is difficult. All things worth keeping are." starpuck
So, do you guys think that journaling my food just to see it on paper after the fact, would be okay, or would that cross the line of food obsessing? I sort of want to at least write/down post what's going in my maw, so that others might be able to spot potential hiccups if I am not? Anyway. Day 1 has only been 2 hours in the waking and it's already trying me. Work is being stressful and causing anger clouds. Also, there is some major major family trauma going on right now, that I won't get into, but it's a constant gnawing in the back of my brain. Also causes stress. A game upset me last night lol (I know, stupid stupid, but when you have a character you've been playing for 11 years straight, and she gets one shot by a bad guy without a chance to react, it's kinda horseshit.) And so all in all, I am just starting out this challenge at a disadvantage. That said, I've not given in to any of the woes yet, so here's hoping. I have issues with food obsession but it only gets triggered if I count stuff (carbs, macros, calories, etc). I journal my food daily and as long as I don't do any counting, it doesn't trigger it. starpuck
Yes! Yes Cheechoe. Come beat someone up! But only because it will get you here and then we can haaaaaaang! Ok, ahem. Yesterday.I wish all days were as easy, and motivation filled as Day 1's are! Cranked out a very good day. Ate like a non-obsessed eater of food things. Got a strength workout in, mowed the lawn and then went to hockey clinic. Today, all the DOMS are belong to me. Bwuahaha. I think I've had them worse. (I also think the worst has not yet set in, woops.) Hopefully, skating last night was a 'good thing' to do to leg muscles that were already planning to go ape-caca with yelling at me. I might go for a walk/jog/run thing. I really really don't enjoy running because I get so out of breath, and so uncomfortable breathing, so damn fast. Seriously. If I didn't suck wind EVERY time I ran, I'd enjoy it. A lot I think! Wonder if I should redo the C25K training maybe, instead of just jumping back into 'okay try and run miles'. Also - this idea to try running again may be because Run for Galgos opened up more registrations for the FIREFLY medal virtual run. (And they actually require proof of miles lol.) Lastly, mobility days. I've told myself to do 3 of them per week. But I have no resources, other than the spread out sporadic love I get from you all. If I could pester you, the fine people of The Star Pack, to relink in my thread here, some of the best mobility stuffs you've come across, I am going to gather them all up into a fitness folder in my bookmarks section. <3 1 Level 80 ~*~ Ranger Deviant Art Gallery || YouTube Channel Current Challenge "It is difficult.
