I'm still poking around, following threads, commenting, etc. Nothing worthwhile is going on here. Physio, healing and no exercise at all. It's a little depressing honestly. Luckily, I can watch everyone else and think "One day ... one day, I'll do all this again." Saying hi and coming in to ask about your knee.Thanks. The knee is a combination of tight IT band and poorly developed inside thigh muscle. It's pulling my kneecap to the outside which is rubbing my knee in all the wrong ways. The knee is recovering now, but it regressed this weekend a bit as I caught a cold and couldn't keep up with my exercises. Still feel like crap, but life goes on and it doesn't seem to want to stop and wait for me. My ab issues have been diagnosed as a hip issue. One of the hip flexor muscles runs underneath your abs to your spine, (my ipso something or other) so the tightness I'm feeling is actually that muscle. It makes sense because lifting doesn't cause any issue. It's most active doing leg lifts, L-sits and tuck jumps. And because it's behind my abs, there's some lovely deep tissue work going on here. Which actually is something I sort of enjoy. I really like muscle pain for some reason, no matter how it's applied. But to do something interesting here ... photos! It might be good timing with everything that's going on. I can likely attribute a lot of muscle imbalances to the fact that karate was my sole sport for many years. Besides that, it wasn't exciting me the way running, OCR and the gym is right now. I think I have so much room to explore here. I used to do karate to make sure I got exercise at least once per week. No thank you, don't want that *looks sheepishly at foam roller*I didn't either. By the time I'm 60 and have wrecked all my major muscle groups one at a time, I will have this all figured out. Every time I've gone to physio, the issue is always a muscle that I don't suspect. Sore shoulders- that's because of back muscles. Sore knees? IT band and weak inside thigh muscle. Sore abs? Never before heard of hip flexor. If it wasn't for physio, I would never be able to figure these out on my own.
