Swampling Posted August 4, 2014 Report Share Posted August 4, 2014 HH, that's a very nice summary of your first week! Keep it up! I did okay in my first week:1. Although the Sugar Monster is slightly ahead with 4 : 3 points scored against me, I believe it will be easier this week since Mrs. Boss - who provides a lot of help for the Sugar Monster - will only be at the office sporadically for the next couple of weeks as it's summer holidays over here, and Boss Jr. is not in school. So. 2. Exercise-wise I scored 3 points attending classes (2x kettlebell, 1x yoga), and 1 point doing a "functional workout" weeding my front yard. Since Guild Leader Teros says that weeding is exercise, I'll take that point gladly. 3. I managed two groundwork sessions with Rosie, the rotund pony. While her overall mobility is not spectacular (yet), she responds easily if I ask her for a shoulder-in (which is her walking straight ahead while slightly bent towards one side). Happy Swampling, and happy Rosie (because she still earns treats frequently if she understands what I'm asking of her). 4. I read chapters 1 - 5 of Le Petit Prince. While I'm still struggling a bit with all the peculiarities of irregular verbs and funny tenses, my reading skills are getting less rusty the more I read. I'll need additional practice writing and speaking, though, and Ash (via Darwin, I think) pointed me towards duolingo.com which looks like a good addition to this part of my quest. Now let's hear how your first week went, and then kick some butt and kill some goals for week 2! Movement: Found some stretching an d yoga poses I can do so I got an earlier start than I expected. Nutrition was good and the scale was nice enough to back this. Looks like everyone's doing amazing so far! I'm glad Yeah, I've been a bit behind as of late, so sorry about that. But I'm here now! But anyways, week One is done, and Week Two has begun! You be glad to see this then: - The Legend of Will - Not sure if I'll use the battle log as one continuous thread, or keep making new challenge threads, and have that be where they're all connected. But either way, I've at least got something started Took me a while though We left for Massachusetts last Wednesday, and things where a little crazy for a few days (in a good way though), but have recently calmed down. Although, I'm having trouble adjusting to the time zone difference, so that's not helping matters. I've just been mainly bothered by not feeling like I have a clear goal to strive towards, so I've been feeling lost, and not sure of where to start. I guess this feeling started when I got back home from my trip. While exploring, all I was thinking about was exploring, but once I got back, I wasn't sure what to focus my energy on. And I feel like this is a trend. I tend to be able to call upon huge reserves of willpower when I feel like what I'm doing matters, but the moment I feel lost, it kind of vanishes, and things grind to a halt. I mean, I can still do stuff with just as much energy as before, but I become a bit paralyzed because I'm not sure of what to start with in the first place. I think Steve's article about training your body to become anti-fragile fits perfectly for me, but instead of just my body, I need to train my mind as well. Hey, now I've got an idea for a goal! I think I'll work that into my challenge.
