A slow cooker is my life in the winter.......LOTS of soups, stews, and chilis!  But yeah, I do have a group to feed and that is another benefit of using one.

Awesome on those tomatoes. You are a lucky girl!  :)

Hope your weekend goes great lullaby!

Day 6 update: For the first half of the day, I was alone in my house. Husband was working. Roommates were either working or just not home. The alone time was welcomed. I spent some time writing out my grievances about the house and some things related to my husband. I may or may not post them. If I get the need to write them down again, I just might write them here.

Got my hooping done. I really should spend more then 5-10 minutes at time. It just gets really hot or buggy out. And with me cooking, it feels hot inside as well. Hence why this update is happening now instead of tomorrow. ^_^ Need to cool off before bed.

Wrote in my journal. Updating here. And non-zero day relates to taking some time for myself.

Will finish this week strong, methinks. [emoji41]

Good going, lullaby! :star:

Yay for some alone time! I guess that is a rare occurrence at your place.

And thanks for all your thoughts on the slow cooker! Parking it on top of the microwave when not in use is a super idea! That would work in our kitchen as well! :)

When I first got it, I had it in my dining room. Then that room got more crap added to it. So now its out of the way on the microwave. ^_^

Soo..out of my case of tomatoes, I was able to can 6 quarts and 3 pints of sauce. :) Not bad in my opinion.

I don't use it that often for the sheer fact that most slow cooked recipes are for more than 2 people. But I am glad I own one. I can do sauce and chili and ropa vieja and stews. It is handy and I've somehow found room for it in my cuttered kitchen. When not in use, it sits on top of my microwave. ^_^ I should use it more often.

I don't know if you have much freezer space, but a lot of the slow cooker recipes freeze really well.  Thats how I use it most of the time.  I have to say I'm super jelous of your free tomatoes.

I have done that in the past but I don't have much freezer space. Not when you account for my frozen meat and broths plus frozen vegetable scraps for said broth. ^_^ I do need to do more freezer to slow cooker meals. So convenient. :)

Day 7 update: I'm kind of glad I don't have a food goal this time around, because I would have failed it. >.< I had the Florida version of Mexican food twice this weekend and it did not agree with my stomach. I took a nap after each time too. I'm also on my period which did not help the upset tummy. Yesterday, after the nap I drank a ginger ale and it helped. I went out and hooped too. I almost didn't but when I let my lovely puppy out, I decided to grab my hoop. :) I'm glad I did because I started practicing some small hoop flows. All off body though. I still have to make small circles while I waist hoop and the hoop doesn't stay up for long. So it makes trying to do on to off body transitions difficult.

And now it's time for the Week 1 Recap!

Goal 1: 6/7 | 0/7 | 0/7 | 0/7 | 0/7 | 0/7 | 0/7    6/42

Goal 2: 5/5 | 0/5 | 0/5 | 0/5 | 0/5 | 0/5 | 0/5    5/30

Goal 3: 7/7 | 0/7 | 0/7 | 0/7 | 0/7 | 0/7 | 0/7    7/42

I got in my five days of hooping. Excitement! I enjoy hooping but I still have to get over practicing in front of other people. Waist hooping still needs some work but I am working on it.

Since I started this a day late, I'm not counting a day 1 update. I'm okay with that because I'm consistently updating here and I know the rest of this challenge will be a breeze. ;)

I got no zero days this week. Though I'm thinking I might need to revamp this goal and define what makes my days a non-zero day. Like is it just me doing something to make myself happy? Is it working towards my goals? What should it be exactly? I'll be pondering this today and let you all know.

I posted two photos of food porn this week. :) I think that's a good start. Now I just have to keep it up!

Let's conquer week 2!!

Doing very well here I see :)

Slowcookers are essential in my house. I'm currently cooking a whole chicken this afternoon to be made into chicken salad later. It's great to toss protein in there and let it slowly cook for a nice, moist meat.

Week 2, Day 1 update: Almost a crapshoot. Well, not really just felt like the day was a drag. Forgot to fill out my gratitude/self love journal. Didn't hula hoop, which is fine. I did give myself 2 break days in case of weather or laziness. I think I'm going to take a video of two of the transitions that I did on Sunday. That is, if I can still do them and if they look as decent as they feel. :D

I got my food porn up last night. Chicken stir fry with white rice! I could have done cauliflower rice but I was lazy/tired so I only did regular rice instead of both. My husband is not a fan of the cauliflower version. He'll eat it but prefers actual rice. So either I'll make both or just rice. I have done quinoa on occasion. Or made brown rice with quinoa. :) I also did laundry yesterday since Sunday was spent at a gun show. ^_^ Not a big fan of guns but my husband owns one and wants his concealed weapons license. And normally, they're fun (sorta). Though this was my first Florida gun show and not as a child. Soo..a bit different looking at guns. ^_^ I enjoyed all the knives. *nods*

Breaking News! Trip to San Diego in the works!

I talked to my dad last night about my trip home. I'll be there the last weekend of October. The husband convinced me to buy a ticket to go back and visit. So I did. But I'm nervous. Like really nervous. It's been two years since I've been in San Diego. I'll only be there for a weekend (Thursday night to Tuesday morning) so it shouldn't be bad.

Part of the nervousness stems from flying alone and leaving my husband behind in Florida. I haven't flown alone before. It's been a while since I've been on a plane, about 8 years. Also, I haven't spent much time away from my husband since his last deployment and that was only for a month. So it's just weird thinking of travelling and visiting family without him. And I'll be without my cuddle doggy and Ms. Bitey (my cat). I'm sure this part of the nervousness will be fine and work itself out.

The other part is that I've gained some weight (almost 40 lbs) since I left and haven't lost much of that (maybe 5-10...maybe?). So I'm a bit embarrassed by this fact. I also haven't put much effort into trying to lose that weight. I do eat better then I used to but I haven't picked up my activity level. I sit and stare at a computer for a living. I stopped doing my walks during my breaks. (1-because it's quite warm/hot by 9am. 2-laziness and it's easier to make excuses.) I want to add some type of mini workout in the morning before anyone else is awake. I try to get up around 5:15 am and don't wake up my husband until 5:30 to 5:45 depending on what day it is. So there's a little bit of time before the rest of the house (3 roommates plus husband) is up. Trying to do a workout after work is not in my willpower. Too much going on. Too many eyes. Though the issue with doing anything in the morning requires me to force myself out of bed and I love my sleep. I hit my snooze at least once each morning if not 2 or 3 times. With this in mind, I'm going to add a life goal to not hit the snooze button. Especially on Saturdays (my worst day for snooze buttons and sleep ins). If I manage some type of exercise (mainly squats, lunges or something of that sort), I'll reward bonus STR points to myself.

Oh goodness....this took me over an hour to write down...wow.... If you were able to stick it out, here's some cute gifs. ^_^

You'll be okay travelling by yourself. It's kind of empowering to travel by yourself because you kind of realize that when all the normal comforts are taken away you can still manage. Plus I'm sure it will be fun to be with your family.

Don't be so hard on yourself about the extra weight. We've all gotten to a weight that we're not proud of, but you are here because you want to change that and you are doing a great job. Just try to remember that your an excellent person and radiate awesome no matter what the stupid scale says.

Have you done a hard hat challenge yet? I think that would do you well with the waking up early goal. That can be your one must-do for the day and it'll probably domino into more good things.

now for this...

Alarm ... on the weekends? What?

I know, right? My husband works Tuesday to Saturday so I get up with him on Saturdays to make him coffee and feed the animals. I go back to bed and without a second alarm, I usually get out of bed around 11 am. ^_^ Basically catching up on all the sleep I missed during the week.

Week 2, Day 2 update: Almost late too. Work was busy today. Barely went on NF. So yesterday, I got my hooping in. Spend a bit more time at it too. Took a video or two. Notice I move my body a lot. The dogs can be seen running around the yard. Haven't thought about uploading them yet. Wrote in my journal and spent some time reading while the house was empty. The produce stand had an all employee meeting which means all my roommates have to go to it. :D And yeah. That's the update for yesterday.

Week 2, Day 3: Woke up with no snooze button and did a handful of squats and lunges. Work was busy and wiped me out. I got home and was out of it. Took a nap, didn't hoop. I did read after my nap and also went to bed earlier.
