I am now 14 weeks pregnant, and the goal of this challenge is to get back on track with exercise, get back into the paleo breakfast and lunches that i used to take, and maintain my sleep habits.

 

Last challenge i started on a better discipline path, and i already learned a lot, but i want to continue finding tools to use and practice them.

 

Also i want to connect more with my son, i find i am often angry at him and yell a lot, wich is not the kind of mommy i want to by. So i will play with him more, giving my full attention, and be present during his night routine on my days.

 

I also want to get back into my soapmaking hobby, on Thursday nights.

 

In details :

  • Move : aim to move 30 min daily, using the following
    • Walk during breaks (0-30 min a day)
    • Walk after diner walk with son
    • 1 prenatal yoga session (30 min), usually on tuesday
    • 1 walk/run alone for 30 min, with map my run and zombie run
    • 1 strengh workout, arms and legs only (abs are not recommended), will need to find some exercise moves ...
  • Nom : eat better, towards a paleo lifestyle
    • Paleo breakefast 5 days a week
    • Paleo lunch 5 days a week, cute bento style
    • Drink more water (bring a 750ml water bottle daily to work)
    • Cut the sugar from my morning decaf coffee (1 tsp, aiming at 0), with coco milk instead of cow’s milk
  • Z : sleep 7-7h30 hours every day
    • Maintain night routine (shower, wash face, brush and floss, mouthwash, sinus rince)
    • 10 min yoga nidra before bed as needed, aiming at 5 times a week
  • Life :  Play and discipline
    • learn about discipline (no-cry discipline solution) and practice what I learn
    • play with full attention with my son a little every day, and be present during his night routine
    • get back into soapy Thursday (my playtime)

It's a bit heavy packed, but most of this are habits I already have, or need to tweek, or need to get back into, so it's not all new.

 

If anyone has good suggestions for moves i can do for arms and legs without abs, i'm all ears. I'm thinking push up, pull up, freeweight moves, lunges and squats. And some butt moves too probably. I have got 15-30 min to do them.

monday

 

move :

walked 15 min at break

ate breakfast and lunch, but non paleo.

1 tsp in my coffee with coco milk

drank about 500ml of water during the day

 

z :

slept 7 hours on the night of sunday to monday

no yoga nidra

 

life :

tuesday

 

move : 15 Min walk, then grocery shopping through costco, and parking far from the door. Also carried heavy bags and boxes from the car to the kitchen. its small but it counts

 

nom : drank my 24oz water bottle. 1/2 tsp sugar in coffee. Brought a big lunch and snacks at work, and took a big breakfast. None were paleo, but i planned ahead so its a win.

 

z ; slept 8h20, no yoga nidra needed

 

discipline :

 

evening went with some incident, probably tiredness, hungryness, and routine return after a 2 week break from daycare. My son had a consequence for his behavior, but then i felt him on the urge of crying, and i offered a big hug. He immediatly started crying when i said that, so we cuddled until he decided it was enough and the rest of evening went mostly without incidents.

 

its crazy how watching and listening, stoping to see if i find the problem well helps good parenting practices. i am really happy i took on the journey to be a better mother doing better discipline and teaching practices. it makes me feel more competent.

 

play :

no such time, but i did have a good cuddle with him ! will do better wednesday

gotta plan my soap for thrusday... what to make what to make ... oh the never ending possibilities !!!!  worst case will be just wrapping soap wich is fun too

Wednesday

Mov: walked 30min on break, and about 20-30 min walk after dinner

Nom:

24oz water

Breakfast was cottage cheese and canned peaches with decaf coffee

Lunch was rice with chineese sweet sausage.

Jad a lot of snacks like fruits, yogurt, granola bar etc

So non paleo but not too much gluten.

Z:

slept 7.4 hrs

Washed face only and teeth

Life:

Did my daily chores and some more

Discipline: an easy evening without incident, i was very relaxed, happy and flexible about everithing and it reflected on my aon sho was polite, nice to me and happy. So i realize more and more that "happy wife happy life" has a sister: "happy & relaxed mom, happy & easy child"

Fun: basement is a mess near y soaping area so i wont be able to make soap thursday. My plan is to plan ahead the next batches, sort throught my recipes, and wrap all the soap that is ready.

Thursday

Mov:

Walked 30 min at break + 30 after dinner

Cleaned the kitchen including cuppbords, probably took 20 mins

Nom

24 oz water

Huge lunch with snacks, all himemade the only "processed foods were canned peaches in juice and granola bar

Z

Slept 6,5 hrs

Life

.wrapped 28 soaps,still have to label them. Very happy to get back into my business/hobbie goal

Friday

Mov:

No walking other than in a store after dinner. Somehow skippe my 2 breaks today. Gotta kick myself in the butt to get back to that habit

Nom

24oz water

Took ... 4 meals today. Breakfast, morning snack, big lunch, tiny pm snack, tiny diner because not hungry. Something i ate yesterday made me bloated and heavy

Z

Slept 6h hrs with a yoga nidra to help fall asleep. Went to bed too late

Life:

This week was good mommy mood wise, went very smoothly. No much need for disciplin. And bo readig my book but i practiced a little or at least put more thought into it than usual

No time to play much but i crave gaming. Maybe ill have time later tonight

Gotta tweek my goals again. It seems i always need to try one week to see what i really want, what is doable and how to do it.

The basis is the same, but taking into consideration my knees that feel week, what i feel like doing and the time i have. So:

Mov:

- walk 15-30 min daily, 5 days a week. (20-30 during breaks at work and some after diner, probably 1 hike on the weekend)

- 10 min am prenatal yoga daily, at least 5 times a week. My back hurts from lack of movent and my spirit is less zen and this will help. Lack of time means some spine stretch twists instead for 5min

- not on the goals per se but i found some 10 min prenatal pilates i wanna try and would like to do it daily too.... Might be too much at once so those will be bonuses or replacements for missed walks in case of bad weather. Yeah that will work the best as a backup plan.

Nom:

- 24oz water bottle daily, 7 days a week

- big lunch and 2 snacks for me and BF, 5 days a week. Homemade and as clean as possible (no processed foods or very little)

- balanced breakfast with some protein. I love benedictine eggs in my paleo breakfast but cant eat that pregnant so paleo is hard to do. Balanced meal with protein is easier but still a challege some mornigs.

- homemade dinner at least 5 days, and aim for good choices if eating out

Z:

- 10 min yoga nidra, really helps with sleep quality and to easy into sleep and relax unwind

- 7,5 to 8h of sleep each night. I did 8-8,5 diring my vacation and t felt really good, but going to bed that early on routine and work is super hard with all that needs to be done. So, i want to have 7,5 as my lowest and aim for 8 at least a couple days a week by the end of te challenge

New category of goals: meds & treatments. This to me is between regular goals and life goals, but a big part of my life so i have been thinking abiut getting this as a 5th goal for some time, will try it this time:

- empty pillbox by the end of the week + fill it on sundays. I tend to forget my am/pm vitamins and te pillbox is the fastest way to do it and check my progress. If i have some left at the end of the week ... It will tell me how i do and will be measurable

- take glycemies 3 days a week as requested by my pregnancy doc. Gotta do it to check for diabeties since gere is a big risk for me with CF. I just got supplies at the pharmacy. Will try tuesday, thursday and saturday. Will set a reminder for it on my phone and see how it goes.

Life

- read discipline book 10 min while doing my am treatment daily

- soapy thirsday

- follow my cleaning schedule i recently came up with (thanks kailer)

Alright thats it, i fhink this will be more measurable. I will make a spreadsheet or something to make it easy to track.

I will also use apps to help: sleepbot & mapmyrun

Maybe myfitnesspal too but will see

Congrats on the pregnancy, very exciting!

I love that you have tweaked your goals to make them more measurable and also automatic, almost like a daily "make good stuff happen" checklist. :)

Yeah exactly that, daily make good stuff happen lol

With ny brain losing memory because ofpregnancy hormones i needd to make this easy

And previous challenges taught me that im better at small steps daily than weekly goals, easier to maintant and get automatique. Autopilot power!

On another note, there is brand new gum being constructed 2 min walk from my house with gym yoga and etc... Opening in september. I need to look into it. I usually do 2-3 yoga sessions per year at 140$ each and the gym would be 550$ ish... Might get more or my money but would i like it and go? There is a 5 day trial free. Women only section. Seems interesting. But previous gym experience says i didnt go that often. Any thougts guys?

Congrats on the new little one...I wish I had an (affordable) gym being built that close to me! Not sure if I would go though, I do have issues being in around too many people and youtube yoga videos are free :) (as is doyouyoga.com, grokker.com and doyogawithme.com...etc...)

Saturday

Mov:

30 min walk after dinner

Nom:

24 oz water and more

- breakfast: decaf coffee woth 1/2 tsp sugar and about 1/3 cup coco milk; canned peaches in juice and 2% cottage cheese, about 1 cup each

- snaks: grabola bar gluten

- lunch: homemade pizza with cheese in the buttered crust, made by bf, soooo tasty!

- snack: smoothi woth yogurt and straberry and banana, cheese

- dinner: bf treated me to his "souris d'Agneau" wich colled the whole afternoon with carreots and potatoes. It was awsome! We went to tim hortons for a iced capuccino after

Z: slept 6h ish yesterday

Meds:

Took all pills

No glycemy taken, wheb i openend the new material i got i found its incompatible worh my machine so i ordered a new one wich should arrive in a couple of days

- did a 2h nap

Life:

No discipline reading, my kindle battery was dead... Oops

Playwd a lottle with kiddo but i wasnt all present ...

This morning i woke up really tired from the week and short night and was in grumpy impatient mode... Got angry at kiddo but kept it to myself instead of lunching to him and did a 2 min meditation to get calm. Rest of the day went well

Sunday

Mov:

Went to a beach/park and walked some, no clue how long, maybe 20 min? At least we were outside.

No yoga this morning. I find when i let myself get up when my sleep is done ten we are all awake and i have less time for myself to do my things o the weekend. Maybe 5x a week is enough thought. A bit disapointed because i wanted to try the routine, but tomorrow morning is fine.

Nom:

24oz water and more

Breakfast: coffee with coco milk and 1/2 tsp sugar, peaches ans cottage

Lunch: cheese, grapes, veggies in mayo/ketchup dip and a drinkable yogurt. Some gatorade.

Snack: ... Eu cant remember, probably a drinkable yogurt or something along that line

Dinner: not yet its still cookig but it will be my bf's boeuf bourgignon, homemade and cooked slowly for 3h and more. Cant wait to eat! Friends are comig over to share some

Z:

Slep 9h and did a 45min nap in the car after the park. I always fall asleep durong long car rides lol

No yoga nidra yeaterday

Meds:

All pills taken, pill box not made yet

Still no glycemy taken, still waiting for my new machine

Life

- read my discipline book for about 10min

- no major issue today, just 1 event that i managed well, i stayed calm and had enogh autoroty that my son listened well. Hopefully those easy ones will become more and more frequent.

I hope to play ps3 later before going to bed, started tales of xillia

I miss playing a really good game that sucks me into it lol.

Alright, just a big woot, because today is my birthday, i am now 32

 

and pregnant with second child (in my 15th week, 3 months and a half done)

 

and super healthy

and i just realized it am now 14 years past my supposed life span. doctors said to my moms when i was a kid that i "might" reach adulthood  (i have cystic fibrosis, chronic deathly lung and digestive illness)

Mov:

10 min prenatal yoga

30 min walk during breaks

Nom:

- bf: coffee with coco milk and maple sirup, peaches and cottage

- lunch: boeuf bourgignon and a juice

- dinner: saussage and rice

- snack: candy (i got a bag for my birthday), drinkable yogurt

Z: slept only 6,5hrs, can feel the lack of sleep

I need 8hrs... Need to get vack on track with bedtime

Meds: forgot my am pills and still havnt filles the rest of the pillbox

Life:

- read 10 min the discipline book

- went to the pumptrack with my son and bf to watch kiddo ride

Good day overall

Didnt eat many snacks since ifelt bloated from yesterday and this lunchs pasta

Weeks 3 mini challenge : face a fear

For the challenge i think i will takle my fear of paperwork. Bleh

I will:

- put the desk back in the passageway and organise the stuff

- clean up and file the paperwork lying around (already have binders for each year with sections but i havnt filed for a while)

- start request for passports for me and my son

- scan and send my echo request for week 20 of pregnancy

- fill and send the government request for the daycare for 2013, i still have 3 weeks but uts best to get rid of it now

- pay any latent bills (taxes on my lawn treatment)

Tuesday

10 min yoga

Nom

Bf: egg&banana pancakes. I tryed addin a handfull of blueberry and it scrapped tge pancake texture but it rasted good. Probably 1/2banana, handfull blueberrys and 1 egg would work?! Added a small amount of maple syrop and topped with vanilla yogurt. Tasted ok. With coffee as usual (decaf coco maple)

Am snack: veggies with dip (peppers, radish, carrots, cauliflower and broccoli)

Lunch: saussage and rice

Snack: grapes and cheese

Dinner: mama pork noodle instant soup with an egg

Z

Another 6,5 hrs night bleh

Meds: took em all

My nachine arrived but i forgot to pick it up, will go tomorrow

Discipline: no reading

Fun: nothing much

spent too mych tine on my phone browsing and waisting time... I will need to address this. Cut it back.

Hum fear of being alone with my thougts, losing touch with poeple? Fear of being present in the moment? I think there is something there. This addiction is NOT healthy. It makes me grumpy when someone (loved ones) talk to me, like they are preventig me from ??&/:$/? Weird... Will think about that

Rant:

On another note, my step mother left my dad 2 weeks ago. They had been together for ... 3-4 yrs i think. Hes ok about it but already met some pther women. She is currently waiting fir married guy to leave his wife and get with her or stop the relationship. My dad wants to be with her like shes her soulmate and shes extraordinary. Told me e could marry her. WTF?! I mean you know her for 2 weeks, she somewht taken in a weird relationship, its passionate. She MIGHT be your soulmate but still!

He now calls me 2 times a day to vet, ask council and tells me WAY too much details (im his daughter not his confident i mean come on, some thigs i dont want to know....). All of a sudden hes super into talking with me

Im not surprised, its always like this when he doesnt have a girlfriend but its a bit too much.

I likek my stepmother. Too muh hanfe at once too fast.

Good think hes far away, or hed be at my ace all the time for hours. Sheesh

Ok rant over, i love my dad.
