lishvicious
Wow you guys - waking up in the morning and seeing your posts has made for a very happy Lish - seriously you guys are the best! Just when I am feeling a little down you are all here to pick me right back up again - thank you, thank you, thank you! Someone once told me (at a point that I was really low and didn't think I was worth anything) that they would love me until I could love myself. So I'm telling you lish, we are going to be confident in you until you have confidence in yourself It's ok to get overwhelmed by schedules and options in workouts. I see Lanithroe is going to be helping you out and I think that is a great place to start. He is really passionate and cares. Try to focus on what you can do today and don't worry about tomorrow's workout or next month's workout. If you do, they give you an easy way out. when I was running the other day I started to think about what I'm going to do when I get back to work in two weeks and when school starts. When will I have time to workout. But I told myself to worry about it when the time comes. If I and if you really want this, nothing will get in the way. Just take it one day at a time. Check in here and I'll always check in too! You got this lady! You'll be an awesome Athena in no time! This is exactly what I needed to hear - and you are completely right! I need to stop worrying about the future so much and concentrate on the now - and when that comes to workouts it means concentrate on my current schedule and work with what I've got! Thank you your majesty And thank you for having confidence in me - you are picking me up and making me stronger. Great post, red _ queen!! *high fives* She's totally right Lish, you can do this, and we're here to cheer you on! You may have some days where you feel like you've failed, but you just gotta keep moving forward. You're worth it, your health and goals are worth it!And there's nothing wrong with a home bodyweight workout to fill in the gaps. Keeps that motivation up and that track going strong!! Thank you lovely - your right it is worth it and I'm going to fight for it First remember to smile even when things look gloom, because life may have its storms when every thing looks like theirs no hope but storms pass. I am a stay at home dad with a son that I can't leave alone for ten seconds or he tries to ride the dog, or play in the fridge. Before I got things figured out so I could train myself, train others, and post on here a lot. I worked out at home with just my body weight, but some times I couldn't even do that because as soon as I went to do a push up my son was into something. Here is a secret of mine that i used to get in shape while playing with my son... i used him as extra weight for my exercises. I would bicep curl him, shoulder press him, I would do over head tricep extensions over the coach just in case I lost my grip, I would do weighted squats, and let him ride my back as I did push ups. You can do this! Smile - I shall, thank you. And you've made me realise that I am kind of lucky in that I can get in a workout and know that my girls won't get up to any mischief. I do use the 3yo sometimes for a bit of a workout but that is more when we are dancing in the lounge room - but jeepers lugging around a 20kg girl and a 22kg girl certainly does make for a decent workout! Chiming in to agree - you've got this! And body weight workouts are great! Thank you I really admire this! You've got yourself and two small people ( ) to take care of and still manage to get workout in there somewhere, while I can still barely take care of myself. What an awesome idea! If you get stronger while he grows up you can do this for years (I imagine). Ha ha - yes it is funny when you start to have multiple people that you are responsible for - a whole new set of challenges. It has certainly been an interesting ride so far - but time with my girls just gets better and better, I love them to bits. 2 Quote Level 1 :: Lycan (STR-2 :: DEX-2 :: STA-2 :: CON-2 :: WIS-1 :: CHA-1) Challenges: One Daily logs: Battle log / MFP Link to comment

lishvicious
Just a quick one tonight because it is laaaaate! Today started off with Miss 5yo yelling out "I have crunchies in my undies", upon further investigation it turned out that she had diarrhoea while she was asleep and pooped her pants. This led to a lot of gagging at 6:30 in the morning. So lots of loads of washing - but luckily it was a bright sunny day so I got it all washed and dry before the day was out.Upper body workout killed me - I appeared to have no strength AT ALL this morning, but at least I gave it my best.Lunch at mum's house, and then I left the girls there for a sleepover - thanks to my mum for giving me support and help when I need it.Came home and went crazy in the shed - total mess to a success in just 3 hours. And no live spiders to be found . I'll post photos of my new shed gym tomorrow.Dinner and movies at my friends house - Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Now about to drop into bed and collapse - and hoping that this dry scratchy throat is just from a big day - not because I am getting sick. Fingers crossed! Amdhiel
Sounds like an amazingly productive day! Closing it out with Thor and Cap makes it a total win. lishvicious
Well here is the before photo... And the after photos... So I have a bench, incline bench, pullup/dip do-hicky, weights (still waiting for my friend to return my adjustable dumbbells), boxing bag, yoga mat, skipping rope and an exercise ball. So I'm pretty stoked with it. On the sick front - I think I have got the beginning of a cold - my whole body is aching - especially my face, I'm a bit sniffy and my throat is sore. So I'm getting straight onto the echinacea and panadol, lots of water and I think today will have to be a rest day. I was going to go for a hike today - but I feel pretty awful. So a movie on the couch, some washing, a little bit of shopping, dinner, bed time for the girls, a nice cup of tea for me - and then bed! 4 Quote Level 1 :: Lycan (STR-2 :: DEX-2 :: STA-2 :: CON-2 :: WIS-1 :: CHA-1) Challenges: One Daily logs: Battle log / MFP Link to comment
aeshnidae
That is AWESOME! I would love to have something like that at home. Really nice job! As to the sick, gargle with hydrogen peroxide (the 3% solution that you can buy at the store, don't dilute it any). Don't swallow it but gargle for as long as possible and then rinse your mouth but don't swallow any water or drink anything for 5 minutes. After that, gargle with a strong salt water solution, as hot as you can handle. The hydrogen peroxide will foam, which is yucky, but every foam bubble is the peroxide piercing and killing all of the bacteria it encounters. It's not a cure but it will help. Feel better! lishvicious
My cold seemed to subside during the day, which was fantastic because I was able to do my body weight workout. I got it all done, the only bit that I found really difficult was the inverted rows, but that was probably because I was doing them using my dining room table - a little bit uncomfortable. I scored big time at the shops today - got a bag of fresh broccoli for $2! A total of 7 heads of broccoli - I got quite excited about it and was talking to the checkout girl and the other ladies in the checkout line about my score - they didn't seem as excited as me I also had my weigh in today and I was down another 700g and 0.1% body fat - progress! Stonie
Yay! Found you! I wanted to ask how long your breakfast smoothie keeps you full for - does adding the coconut oil prolong the length of which you feel full? Whenever I make smoothies they are great for about, oh, an hour, and then I'm ravenous again. Sure it probably doesn't help that I normally have them before going to work and running around all day, but still. Thought I'd ask. Barely have time to breathe at work on a busy day in the mornings, let alone eat! So it would be nice for it to sustain me a bit longer while working through the breakfast rush. xD 1 Quote Stonie They/Them Currently reading: Good Omens by Terry Pratchet & Neil Gaiman Currently playing: Outer Worlds (Xbox) Current DnD character: A radio presenter who’s magical bardic weapon is a portable radio broadcaster’s kit Link to comment

Hello Okay my smoothie normally keeps me going strong for 3 hours - and I think the coconut oil certainly helps in keeping me satiated, as I've tried breakfast smoothies in the past and like you were ravenous shortly after. I think for me being pretty busy in the mornings and usually trying to fit in my workout before my first snack means I am generally too busy to notice being hungry anyway - so that certainly helps. You should give it a try and see how it treats you - I love how quick and easy it is on busy school mornings. 1 Quote Level 1 :: Lycan (STR-2 :: DEX-2 :: STA-2 :: CON-2 :: WIS-1 :: CHA-1) Challenges: One Daily logs: Battle log / MFP Link to comment
Nephthie
keep it up girl, my mom was alone with two young daughters and in retrospect I wish she would have spent more time on HER and teaching us how to be strong and healthy, she kicked ass but it was always about us and never about her. Your girls will be so proud of their momma when they know all that you did for them (including keeping yourself healthy). I can't imagine it is easy but you can do it.
