I guess if I write it, I may have to keep to it so like all good stories, we begin at the beginning.

I, like most, have problems with consistency. So hopefully this will keep me on track.

Input:

Breakfast. 250 ml isowhey shake with added banana

Snack. 1 coffee, no sugar, skim milk.

Lunch. Egg salad. Not the creamy type, but a salad with boiled egg.

Snack. 2 mandarins

Dinner. 250 ml isowhey with 1 cup added frozen strawberries.

While not into paleo as such, due to other issues (see my intro if interested) I eat low sodium, no added sugar diet.

I have given up my beloved pepsi max and dont drink alcohol ( well last 19 years anyway).

I do drink 2 litres of water a day.

Output:

Im currently starting C25K so walked to park before work then 1 min jogging, 1.5min walking for 20 mins. Walked home via the killer stairs at park (I hate every one of the 42 of them.)

Its rained all afternoon so no running, but 30 mins interval on bike.

My legs are killing.

Hahaha, well I never said I was Usain Bolt.

Input:

Breakfast 250ml isowhey with water and blueberries

Snack 30gm peri peri biltong

Lunch 2 poached eggs with beans

Snack air popped casava chips

Dinner 250 ml isowhey with strawberries and water

Output:

Swam 10 x 100m swimming =1000m

I have for years dodged the gym, preferring to do any weights etc at home. But the local 24/7 gym had a special running, no joing fee, $55 card fee, 1 month free and $13 per week. So tomorrow we gym it.

Well woke at 6 as mrsnewstart had to work (damn nurses and Sunday shifts) so decided I may as well go use my newly minted gym card.

Did c25k work out on treadmill. 25 mins 5 min 5kmh then 1 min 9kmh, 1.5 min 5.5 kmh for 20 mins.

Wandered round gym, seeing what they had.

Did half assed routine:

2 x 5 lat pulls 50kg

2 x 5 incline skull crushers 20kg

2 x 5 air squats

2 x 5 lat fly 40kg

2 x 5 pec deck 40 kg

2 x 5 static lunge

2 x 10kg db press

10 min 5.5 kmh treadmill for warm down.

Eyed off the free weights/cage/smith machine.

Have SL downloaded, tempted to do that at same time as c25k but unsure atm. Deadlifts worry me. I am chemical heamophiliac ie on asprin/blood thinners so not sure I want to be scrapping my shins and bleeding like a stuck pig. Might be asked to leave.

Oh c25k how I hate thee.

Having mastered the dark art of programming the gyms treadmill I can now say I have ran the full half hour with stopping. Possibly out of fear, they have security cameras and I don't want to end up on YouTube flying off the treadmill.

5 min warm up at 5, 8 reps of 1.5 @5, 1 @ 7. With 5 minute warm down.

It doesn't sound much but it had me shaking like I had Parkinson's and looking for a quiet corner to vomit in.

Sad part is I think I shall go repeat it again tonight. Onwards and upwards.

Treadmills are sooooo scary, I know. But if it gets you to run for a full half hour, I guess that's a good thing :)

Late night gym sucked no less than normal time. Power cut had it closed earlier.

5 min treadmill warmup

Pulldowns 5 x 20kg, 5 x 30 kg, 5 x 40 kg, 5 x 50 kg

30 crunches blahhh

10 x 20kg cable chest presses (got to lose those moobs somehow)

5 x combo upright rows and over head press (think clean and jerk without bending) 15, 20, 25 kg

10 assisted dips

5 x 5 bench press 20kg

Warm down 10 mins recumbant bike.

Met someone I workwith, theyre young, dumb and full of ....... well something. I now know I can deadlift 110kg. Once.

Sequence was 5 x 20, 5 x 30, 5 x 40, 5 x 50 then balls out 110. Stupid ? Yes. Fun ? Ken oath.

By then I was a tired sweaty fatboy in need of a shower so that was it. Sleep time, tomorrow with the dreaded c25k will be upon me so need sleep.

Not sure about gym today, might pull a rest day. Or maybe just go later. Wife time tonight. And no, not like that tyvm.

Unsure how my eating is going, with the medicine (Wrote drugs but that looked bad) I just dont have an appetite.

Used a calculator and came up with these numbers. I even cheated as im going to the gym more than 3 times.

Total Calories Including Exercise (3 days)

Maintenance 3455

Fat Loss 2764

Extreme Fat Loss 2570

Not sure how I could eat that much. Hmmm
