"This half-orc scout is returning after a long absence, and the crowd seems to have high hopes for him!""That's right, rumor is he's run two marathons and has his sights set on a sub-two hour half!""We'll just have to wait and see what this kids got!"All ... or most ... silliness aside I'm going to start a new battle log as my goals and in general my life has changed since my previous one was being used I'm currently chasing a sub-two hour half and am hoping to do so in November. If/when I manage that feat, I'll be shifting my focus to fat burning and muscle building as according to my Withings scale I'm at ±30% body fat which is horrible! I'm currently hovering around 225lbs (102kg or 16 stone) and am 6' (1.83m). Now onto the battle log! 2014-09-08Yesterday was boot camp. We did a 3 station work out and sprinted between the stations. The stations done with a 30-20-10 style after the 10 set was done we would do sprint the whole distance around all of the the stations before starting the next series of exercises. Exercises were crunches, reverse crunches, and bicycles then flutter kicks, in & outs, and Russian twists. Food wise I was pretty good (MFP link), though I think I should continue to cut more processed food out of my diet ... food for later thought. After work when I had an follow up interview which went well. Currently I'm on the fence about the position due to the change in commute and what the job responsibilities are. I'm 100% sure I can do 90% of the job but the 10% I'm unsure of bothers me ... the position does have real growth and company ownership potential which is good too ... definitely something to think about later. Strickland5 Posted September 10, 2014 Author Report Share Posted September 10, 2014 2014-09-09No boot camp yesterday, instead I took my bike out with the intention of getting a 10 or so mile ride in. About oh half a mile out I heard "thump" "thump" "thump" to which of course I stopped and tried to figure out what was wrong. Turned out my back tire was 100% flat ... I'd left my emergency pump in the car by mistake so I walked back and attempted to refill the tire. This failed. So I went for a run instead ... Runkeeper decided that the 3.5 mile run was only 3 miles due to MAJOR clipping of the route. Strickland5 Posted September 11, 2014 Author Report Share Posted September 11, 2014 2014-9-10Tough workout today at boot camp and its was Race Track.Basically we sprint out at 100% to a given distance which gets shorter as the workout goes on and then run back at 75%. Today's version was really tough as we had to scale a massive hill. My knee is none too happy.On the food front I was okay ... save for a glass of wine and a celebratory cupcake for my wife's new job. I ran it with friends who are at a slower pace than I am (11:30 vs my 9:30-10) and I did my best to be encouraging and engaging. I think it was good for me as my knee didn't act up and only got tired after mile 7.Afterwards my wife and I went for brunch ... got 2 eggs w/ pimento cheese, home fries/potatoes, a biscuit and kale ... Haha, yup, that's my biiig problem too... I've been pretty good at being able to stick to my 4 beer-a-week limit but pumpkin beers are coming out, and I definitely indulged in a Heavy Seas Greater Pumpkin yesterday!! I do find though that the more I work out, the lower my tolerance goes... which I guess is a good thing for me. Last winter I used to be able to drink 2-3 hefty stouts, but the Heavy Seas the other day was definitely enough for me. Did a total of 4.1 miles in about 39m15s so said Runkeeper Breakfast was 1 egg w/ 2 egg white, a slice of toast, half a banana and a glass of Naked's Berry Veggie juice So a good start to my day! We did a workout where you are partnered off and run opposite to a point and back ... the goal is to beat your partner - the trick is one side is a shorter distance than the other. Better running was core and strength work which you were to do vs your partner ... so it was a highly competitive workout. Managed 1.75 miles of running so that's good for my current challenge.
