Yes, very entertained! When I found out I had passed the CPA exam you couldn't have knocked a smile off my face for at least a month, so I can totally picture that level of excitement, so it makes me happy that someone else gets to experience that. Just never seen it expressed exactly that way, but it's really the perfect description :)

It's true though, it's starts in my legs, they start boucing or tapping and then I give my head a few shakes and my fingers start tapping... it's because I can't stand on my desk and yell "YYYEEAAAHHHHHH!!!" at the top of my lungs without being reprimanded.

I already get a few glares when I perform my friday dance down the halls all day.. I mean come on!!! It's freakin friday!! I am tempted to do a cart wheel one day but I am sure that won't go over well at all...

And they say accountants are boring...no wonder you aren't impressed with the insurance business. Primal screams and cartwheels are tailor-made for last days (especially last days before you enter a dream career after crushing incremental goals for so long) - just sayin'. What are they going to do, fire you? ;)

Oh dear. You co-workers sound like a sad bunch if they can't enjoy FRIDAY!! I mean, there's a whole restaurant chain named after the glory of Friday. Too bad their food's not particularly good.

you have no idea how depressing these people are...

I have never been to TGIF's lol good to know.

Yep Insurance people are soul suckers.. you start off shiny and new and it takes about 5 years to be rid of it completely, and then you are there forreeevverrrrrrrrr

I plan on unleashing my vocal might on my last day there will be cartwheels, dancing, fighting imaginary ninjas, spontaneous karaoke jams, you name it... and I will spit on their farewell cake (I say good day!)... actually I won't do the last part, I will probably just cry, tears of joy and maybe a few in sadness... but mostly overwhelming joy! and boy will it be uggglllyyyyyy... (I will NOT be wearing mascara that day, or I will look like I belong in Gwar)

Week 1 Summary!

Quest 1: Work out plan

Grade: A

I found that the high I have been getting from working out regularly has worked in my favor, I can't seem to wait to get to the gym.

I have been struggling with the running portion though as my calves are being a total and utter bitches... I have consulted with professionals and they think it might be a hydration issue, as in I need to guzzle water just before I go running and continue doing so as I run... I will try it this week and see what happens

Quest 2: Eating out

Grade: C (boo!)

Eating has always been tough for me and this week, Lunches were left at home, relatives wanted to treat us, it was tough, I made great choices at the restaurants, which has help in the result that I lost a pound last week, but still eating out too much...

Quest 3: Complete 5km running

Grade: TBD

With the struggle with the running, I am hoping to find a solution to my problem and get to the bottom of it before the end of the challenge.

Overall Feelings:

Feeling pretty good about week one, as it showed on the scale and I am started to see the result of the overall weight lose journey (before I started here). Motivation sometimes wavers, but having a solid support system here and psyching myself with Mountie talk has made it easy to get out of the slump.

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HAS BEEN CHEERLEADING ME ON!!! YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!

Excited for week 2!!

What I find most surprising is that I am still super motivated. I don't know about any of you, but whenever I set out a goal and day 1 starts and then I fall off the wagon (have some cookies, or such, or not hit the gym) and then I'm like, ok I'll start tomorrow instead, fresh start, and then continue to indulge that day... and we all know that tomorrow never comes...

It hasn't been like that, every time I come on here and see that someone liked or commented or quoted my posts I'm like eeeeee XD XD XD gotta keep going!

That's called the 'Perfect Monday Syndrome'.

The basic premise is that if you mess up, you tell yourself you're going to get back on track and start kicking arse on monday.  Monday is the start of the week and so everything will be 'fixed' by having a perfect monday. The problem is that there is no perfect monday so there will be another stumble and then....just wait. Everything will be fixed on monday!  It's a very common thing. The best advice I can give is 'never 2 in a row'. If you missed a workout? Fine. But don't miss 2 in a row. Have an unhealthy snack you didn't plan for? Fine. But make sure your next meal is healthy.

Motivation tends to be a slippery slope, so as long as you are committed to being committed, things will work out.

I quoted you. Time to 'eeeeeeeeeeee XD'   :P

Yay! Well done for sticking to working out the whole week!! I love reading your thread, you're such a badass, really!

I've only posted once (but kept reading). Sorry for that, I'll try to cheer you on better, not that you need extras (you rallied a lot of people to your awesome quest!), it's just for the sake of expressing my solidarity and how fantastic you're doing!!

I know, I'm also like that! I guess this community's so huge, everyone is bound to feel overwhelmed... Personally, following people's threads and commenting is what has helped me the most with motivation this week so I really made the effort to keep it up :) and everyone doing so awesome is so invigorating! People commenting on mine felt like the cherry on top (well, actually, cherries are nice but not thaaat nice... It was the pure coca butter chocolate sculpture on top!)

Please look at my post # under my name. I've been here for less than 2 years. I feel exactly the same way.

Wowza, so it never really goes away then? It sucks, because I want to know these amazing people

Well, maybe I'm an exception. I've found out that I love people.  I feel like my entire life has changed.  This place is the mantra: You get out what you put in.

Prior to being on here, I considered myself an angry and secluded person. A lone wolf of sorts. I was beaten down by life for so long that all I wanted was to watch the world burn; but this community helped me find a sense of purpose and something that was sorely lacking in my life: love and acceptance.  I can't fully repay what this place and these people have done for me (I've lost 60+ pounds so far and there are people that are willing to fly across the country to hang out with me in November.)

What I can do though is try to pay it forward.

Also, when you say 'overwhelming', here's what I've done this past week on here:

-I wrote the adventurer mini

-I read and greeted all 100 adventurers to make sure they feel welcome

-I answered roughly 12 PMs

-I wrote the RPG storyline for an accountability group that I run

-I checked out a bunch of level 1s to see how they're doing (hi!)

-I responded to the level 1 accountability group that I run

...and I'm ready for week 2. :)

Great work on your first week Nikki :) - I hope this week goes well and that you can sort out the issues with your calf muscles - fingers crossed that hydration helps with it!

Thanks I hope so too...

Niiiiiikkiiiii!

You are a phenom! So awesome that you are excited to workout!

Stick to it girl! If you keep progressing on your goals in baby steps it will all fall into place. :)

Thanks for your awesome support! one step at a time right?

There are a lot of neglected games on the steam workshop.

haha that's how I feel about a lot of things such as my video games (the stack is like a dozen high of games I need to play..), some of my costumes (haven't worked on my weeping angel costume in weeks! or my Fem Shep!)... so many things and last night I had a night off and I just CRASHED. my brain was like

ERROR ERROR MANDATORY BRAIN SHUT DOWN COMMENCING. CANNOT OVERIDE. BEEP BEEP PURGING STARTING NOW...

I didn't move from the couch all night, I napped, watched tv and snuggled with a heat pack.

I love reading your thread, you're such a badass, really!

I just wanted to let you know that this comment has stuck with AAALLLLLL day!!! I caught myself saying "Someone thinks I'm a badass... hells yeah I am a badass.. that treadmill tonight won't know what hit it!"

Thanks to anyone who has told me they love reading my thread, it has made me want to post! which in itself is a motivation! and my confidence took a nice boost from it!

Time to kill two birds with one stone. Here's another game to add...and it involves the concept of weeping angels. More like weeping cherubs:

The site to get it should be in this guy's video description. (He has a lot of other amusing vids as well.)  Don't watch the whole video or you'll ruin it for yourself.
