PachaTisai
I don't dislike kale. I found that I had none of the issues I thought I would have. In fact, I've embraced it. I used it in place of spinach most of that first week, and found I rarely could tell the difference. Is it a little more bitter and earthy than other veggies? Sure, but so is a nice dark coffee stout, and I love those too... 1 Relax, don't worry, have a homebrew! Link to comment
Padfoot
I just started my first challenge, and I hope I did it right--it's here, if anyone wants to see. FunshineBear
I've never tried kale but you guys really aren't selling me on it. Why eat a vegetable you don't like when there are so many delicious ones? It's crazy how good kale is for you. But dark leafy greens in general are really good for you, so I don't know if I'll make it a regular part of my pantry. It's just very bitter and strong flavored, which some people really like. Not my thing, though. I did try it sauteed with bacon, garlic, lemon, and red pepper, and it was halfway decent. But I still had to take a bite with something else to make it go down. I'll probably stick with chard from now on. Lalie Fanyarendil
I finally tried massaging the kale and I thought it helped. I read somewhere that kale starts tasting really lousy if it's overcooked too much, and I think that's what I was doing trying to get it softer. There's a recipe in my heavy metal cookbook that calls for sauteing the kale for 3-4 minutes, then throwing a bit of water in and letting it steam 3-4 minutes. I liked the resulting texture. 1 Level 2 Elf Assassin Str: 4 | Dex: 5 | Sta: 3 | Con: 2 | Wis: 4 | Cha: 3 "When people called me freak, I closed my eyes and laughed, because they were blind to happiness." --hide First challenge! Randa Rooskie
I like my kale the same way I like my eggplant: With its flavor masked by something that actually tastes good... I'll blend it into a morning smoothie and smother the kale-ness with fruit, but that's about as far as my relationship with the deep-green veggie goes. Also, I've been tagged as a prospective ranger candidate for my running goals no doubt, but deep down inside I'm pretty sure there are ninja skills waiting to awaken. I've taken martial arts before (quite a while before...). Plus I've watched Kung Foo Panda at LEAST 20 times... Do you think I might qualify for monk-ness? Running is really more of a therapy for me than anything else. And... come on... 20 times... jody
I dunno if I'm more nerd, or more dork. I'm leaning towards dork. Nerds are way cooler than dorks. Smarter, too. I seem to lack the smarts that most nerds have. Anyways, I'm new and looking to figure this whole thing out. I gotta get those neat-o status bars for my signature! I'm not very familiar with forums and chats and whatnot, havning never done that stuff before. I've been overly sheltered. Haha. Anyways, um, I want to put those status things in my signature, for my challenges. I posted a challenge, but I don't know how to link to my challenge in my signature, either. And I don't have a guild yet, though I think I'm an adventurer (for now). I assume so, anyway. Um, and I need lotsa pep talkin' pals, cuz I don't wanna give up on myself anymore. I'm done being a slug. I wanna find my inner dragon. ;-) 2 A year from now, you may wish you had started today. Link to comment

Once you complete this challenge, if you want to be a monk. ..you are a monk! If you want to run, you can check out scouts! Rangers do a little of everything, adventurers enjoy the adventure of trying new things! But don't worry about that until week 6! Final one tomorrow.Goal 2: Did HIIT session today.Goal 3: Haven't eaten flour, rice, potatoes or drunk beer. Very little sugar. Decided that dark chocolate fits my definition of Paleo. This is role-playing, right? 70%+ chocolate once in a while is obviously necessary for my character's survival. As is coffee, but more like once every couple of hours. Black no sugar, no sweetener though.I'm calling that a win.Dark Chocolate is definately on my approved kinda-paleo list, too. Definitely necessary for my survival. :-) 2 A year from now, you may wish you had started today. Link to comment
