Everstorm
Parallettes today. For the record, the goal workout is this:Warm-upPlanks 5x5sPush-ups 5x5Dips 5x5Jump Through 5x5Full Swing 5x5Tuck/L-Sit 5x5sFlow Routine (opt)CooldownMine, because I have limp noodle arms, went like this:Warm-upPlanks 5x5sPushups 0, Knee Pushups with limited range of motion 3x5, Counter height pushups 1x5, Hip Height Pushups 1x5Dips 5x5Jump Through, limited range of motion 3x3Full Swing 0Tuck Single Leg 7x5sCool downNot sure if it is better to do limited range pushups or increase the incline until I am stronger. Thoughts? Also, I skipped the Full Swing since it is really a move built up from the jump through, which I cannot do yet. It's humbling not to even be able to do one rep on some of these. I have to remind myself not to get discouraged. If I could already do this stuff, it wouldn't be a challenge goal. Looking forward to noob gains! 1 Life before Death Strength before Weakness Journey before Destination Link to post

If I could already do this stuff, it wouldn't be a challenge goal. Looking forward to noob gains! That's how I felt about my strength regime yesterday. I felt pathetic for some of the weights I was using, but then, it's a challenge for a reason and it's how we get stronger. And it's fantastic you have a end-goal for parallettes... even if temporary until you can do it anyway. I always get excited to run in cool weather, unlike my dad and my former running partner, who feel that sweating is an integral part of fitness. I can live without it entirely. The only downfall I'm running into when it comes to cool weather is that I don't always bring the workout clothes to work appropriate for it. I mean, I know there's the whole, "But you'll warm up during your run!" mentality, but sometimes it's just too cold when you're starting out if all you have available are the things you wear for 80-90 degree heat. And I agree; while sweating does make me feel like I had an intense workout, it doesn't mean I like to sweat, especially when I'm wearing sunblock and it starts dripping into my eyes, ugh. I can feel just as satisfied without the sweat as with it! 3 Vicki | Sheikah Bard | Level 13 STR 32.5 | DEX 51.1 | STA 25.5 | CON 37.1 | WIS 26.0 | CHA 31.3 blkhoe24601 Gains the Power to Revolutionize the World Past Challenges: 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 2016 Battle Log Link to post

A race I did last March, I started out in pants, long sleeve thermal shirt, T-shirt, jacket, hat and gloves and I was still miserably cold waiting for the start. They're like gloves but without the hand part, and you can easily slip them off when you get hot and they're thin enough (thermal insulation is what gets them to work) that you can stuff them in a pocket so you're not running with them. I wonder if I can find them again; it's annoying having to wear a bunch of stuff you're just going to wind up carrying! (I use a long sleeve Underarmor for cold long runs since they're pretty good and keeping you cool if you get too hot, but even then, sometimes......) 2 Vicki | Sheikah Bard | Level 13 STR 32.5 | DEX 51.1 | STA 25.5 | CON 37.1 | WIS 26.0 | CHA 31.3 blkhoe24601 Gains the Power to Revolutionize the World Past Challenges: 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 2016 Battle Log Link to post

A September half means long runs in the summer. I chose November so my longest runs would be in the fall. To each their own with hot/cold running preference, and sometimes you like a particular race regardless of timing, but just something to take into consideration. 2 Life before Death Strength before Weakness Journey before Destination Link to post
Everstorm
Beautiful weather this morning, so I walked my son to school and came back nicely warmed up for parallettes training.WarmupPlanks 5x5sPushups, hip height 5,5,3Dips 5x5Modified Jump Through 5x5Single Leg Tuck 5x5sCool downMuch better today. My hands are already toughening up. Jump through was much better. I decided to modify the pushups since I can't even do one at parallettes height. Worked to failure, just short of 3 sets. I will lower the incline as I improve. 2 Life before Death Strength before Weakness Journey before Destination Link to post

Everstorm
My 11mile run went spectacularly. It was a gorgeous morning, and I felt so good, I took 1.5 minutes off my pace and still felt pretty strong at the end, except that my knee was kinda bugging me the very last mile. I ran so fast, in fact, that 11 miles only took about 6 minutes longer than 9.5 miles two weeks ago. Gotta watch my form better at that pace, though, if I want to avoid a return of ITBS.I feel awesome! 4 Life before Death Strength before Weakness Journey before Destination Link to post
