Hello! This is my second challenge and my first as an assassin!

MAIN QUEST:

Lose fat, gain some muscle, feel comfortable in my own skin. I have already lost close to 65 lbs. (mostly from diet changes, I follow a ketogenic diet and have never felt better!) and I would like to lose another 20-40 lbs. I mainly want to get stronger and feel comfortable in my body so the number on the scale is less important to me than the way I feel. I want to maximize what my body is capable of- use my body efficiently, run faster, and master some cool aerial tricks- and I know I need to drop some weight to accomplish this.

 

 

 

Quest #1: Attend 2-3 aerial classes per week.

I have been taking aerial classes at a studio for the last few months. I have mainly been working on silks and recently started on trapeze. For the first part of the challenge I will be taking aerial fitness, intro static trapeze, and mixed aerial. When my studio’s new session starts I will be taking stilt walking (new for me), aerial fitness, and mixed aerial.

 

 

Quest #2: Run 3-4 times per week to prep for half marathon.

I have three half marathons coming up- Rock n Roll STL in October, the Avengers Half Marathon in November and the Rebel Challenge (10K and Half Marathon) during Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend at Disneyland in January. I have only run 10K races at this point so I am working on increasing my distance and speed. My goal for January is to rock a slave Leia running outfit for the race.

 

Quest #3: Keep to my diet.

I have been on a keto diet for a while and recently I have been slipping up here and there and sabotaging my progress. I am not gaining any but my weight loss has been stalling. So this challenge I am going to work hard to minimize any off-plan foods and really track my food intake.

 

Side Quest: Attend a trampoline aerobics class.

I have wanted to try one of the Skyrobics classes at the Skyzone Indoor Trampoline Park, so I will make an effort to try it out at least once during this challenge.

hey! welcome to the assassins! you have got so much win in your post - aerials! weight loss! and running! are you following a training program to bump up from 10K to 1/2 marathon? I've never done a 1/2, but have done lots of 10Ks, and the http://www.halhigdon.com/ programs have never failed me. I never really thought I could get faster but my last 10K was amazing - a personal best, and it was in terribly cold november weather too.

That is the plan I am doing! Hopefully I can get a bit faster but as long as I finish and don't get swept I am happy : )

Day 1-3- So in a less than auspicious start to my challenge, I have been sick the past several days. I missed my run, missed my aerial classes, and have been asleep most of the time. I am finally back at work today and will hopefully be heading to the gym tonight (my job has an onsite gym and gives us 3 hours of workout time a week during our shifts). I also had to reschedule all three of my aerial classes to make-up. On the plus side, for the next three weeks I will now have aerial 4 times a week! Now just to get back into the swing of things....

I have been seriously deficient in my posting as of late! Being sick all last week really put me behind on things (full time job, grad school, aerial classes- everything took a hit!)

 

Finally back to running this weekend! Got in a 8 mile long run and 3.5 mile short run. Loving the cooler weather.

 

Playing two games of kickball on Saturday- lots of running in the outfield. I am also the random weird girl mixing rum and diets instead of drinking beer during the games lol. Diet maintained!

 

1.5 hr of trapeze on Monday- finally getting my L-ups without looking like spaz.

 

1.5 hr of aerial fitness on Tuesday- pretty sure I have some new bruises : ) Also my mixed aerial class is right after and no one else showed so I pretty much got a private lesson to work on my tricks!

 

Also they are trying to add a morning trapeze class next session and, if so, I will be able to take silks, trapeze, AND stilt walking every week. Squeeeeeeeeeee!

Ran a 10K race yesterday and knocked 4 WHOLE MIN off my PR! Woot! Played kickball afterwards and now I am worn out...

 

Aerial fitness today with 3 more aerial classes to follow the next two days. In two weeks I will be adding Intro Rope!

 

Been decent with my diet but had some pancakes yesterday (to be fair is was a pancake themed race...)

A PR on a 10K, then kickball afterwards?! Woot, that is amazing!

To be fair it is Division 3 kickball so mostly drinking in the park. As long as you stay upright, you are good lol

Let's see- I did trapeze on Monday for a couple hours, and then aerial fitness and mixed aerial on Tuesday (played on slings for the first time). I was learning to Russian climb and toe climb on rope. I now have rope burn between my toes- very odd feeling!

 

Ran 3.5 miles this morning so on track with running.

 

Made egg avocado boats for breakfast and a huge taco salad for lunch- haven't messed up my diet since Saturday!

Ran 4 miles on Thursday. Two rounds of kickball on Saturday. Ran 8 miles this morning.

 

Also, made some amazing spinach artichoke meatballs with a creamy sauce. Omg good. Diet on track!

 

No aerial since Tuesday but starting next week I will have class Tuesday morning, Tuesday evening, and Thursday evening. Silks, Trapeze, and Rope. They didn't have enough people sign up for stilt waking so sadly it was cancelled : (
