There is a lot going on right now.

I'm sitting on my master thesis while still having to write a 40 page thesis.

My student contract ends in november, I finish my thesis in december(or until early January...).

Since I know my university that means graduation in late january or february.

So I have to work something out to live of in December, January, February and maybe March.

I can make some money with ambulance driving, but its not so well paid.

And I have to use this time to decide what I want from my life and how I approach it.

I could:

  • Get the career track going. Immediately start a safe and  well paid engineering job in my field working my ass off.
Sounds great for security but my heart cries: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo
  • Take time until March, accept one of the above jobs and do it halfway until I have some money and a perspective to start my own thing.
Sounds ok for security, but I really don't want to work. And I would have to lie in the interview...
  • Exit. Cut my expenses hard so I will have enough money for four months and see what happens. I want to be my own boss. I could start with healing or as a meditation or even yoga teacher. Just need to get a license.
  • Reconsider option 2 with the fact that I already have a perspective. If I get a well paid job and start an education(just to get a license) for what I want to do money won't be an issue. I have to work more that I would like, but its just a crutch.

At least I do not need to know it within 6 weeks ;)

Challenge goals:

  1. Be
Everything is fine as it is. Stop fighting against myself. There blockades and everything. They are my energy. I will not fight my own energy, right? So just be, let them be and find a way to reintegrate them ;)
  2. Thesis writing
    We will see
  3. Work
Doing my job better. No more days surfing the internet because I dislike what I'm doing so much.
We will see about grades and blah
  4. Me
The obvious vipassana thing strikes here. Also yoga once a week.
And I should do some maintenance on my energy system every day.
I will figure out what and how until monday =)

To be continued ;)

Good luck with everything, sunmage!  What subject is your thesis on? (or general area of study?)

I empathise on surfing internet at work... it's admittedly harder when you're unmotivated!  Hope inspiration strikes for you!

Thanks!

I studied Materials Engineering. Metals.

So time for some real ideas for the future(you notice that I am avoiding the word goal, right):

  1. Be

Everything is fine as it is. Stop fighting against myself. There blockades and everything. They are my energy. I will not fight my own energy, right? So just be, let them be and find a way to reintegrate them  ;)

I will utilize ths idea in #4

  2. Thesis writing

    Write it.

Small thesis done within this challenge. Beginning October 5th there will be a 2 pages a day goal for every day on the master thesis.

  3. Work

Doing my job better. No more days surfing the internet because I dislike what I'm doing so much.
Spend my time at work with doing my job. No more waiting for the clock turning to freedom ;)

  4. Me

The obvious vipassana thing strikes here. Also yoga once a week.
And I should do some maintenance on my energy system every day.
    • Vipassana: 30 Minutes in the morning
    • 5 Minute energy routine: First thing after getting up
    • 30 Minutes of self maintenance in the evening:
      • Sounds(Kotodama)
      • Blockade feeding
      • Chakra cleaning
      • ...
    • Yoga once a week
    • To be continued...

There will not be measurements. Just reports how it is. I will accept everything that is as the right thing for the given time. No judging, no justification.

I wish you a pleasant start tomorrow!

Sounds like a fantastic challenge :) And since you didnt ask ;) I would go with Option 4 (Reconsider option 2 with the fact that I already have a perspective. If I get a well paid job and start an education(just to get a license) for what I want to do money won't be an issue. I have to work more that I would like, but its just a crutch.)

but if it was my choosing to do that, I would have to be very careful that I dont stay out of fear for branching out into the unknown, but you are much more of a badass, so I am sure that wont be an issue for you :D

Some things to think about in this context: 1) you won't be working "really hard" from day one. It takes a while to get to that stage, especially in a big corporation where you have to learn all the ropes. And it's up to you to pace yourself. And 2) Think about the experience you could gain in the industry and how it might serve you later in a totally different job/context. For example, there's a yoga teacher comes to our company once a week - think of the industry contacts you could make and use in that context. Or: I branched out as an independent translator for a while, and a lot of people I know from my engineering job became my customers. Also, big companies employee consultants in all kinds of capacities (for example we had a physiotherpist at one management seminar my company ran) and again, industry experience might come in useful here.

How's the actual challenge going?

Hey,

thanks. Actually I have thought and heard this one quite often. This is another thing that speaks for getting an industry job. And I know quite many people who did it like that. But most of them spent 10 years. Appears too long for me right now.

Actually I nearly stopped worrying about the future.

No matter what I do I actually have a choice.

I am free to decide what I want to do with my future.

This feels quite good ;)

There is no challenge. I just am.

Tuesday I was working long. Everything fine.

Yesterday I ate something with eggs after work. Had an allergic reaction. Actually a process started that made me rediscover the art of Kunlun.

Today I was pretty tired, long day at work, but now I am fine. I will spend some time with my energy system now.

No time wasted with newspapers at work =)

Tomorrow there is a lot of work waiting for me, Saturday I have an 24 hour ambulance shift. I miss helping people =)

And on sunday I have a seminar with a friend.

So everything is fine!

I just have to worry about how I celebrate the fact that I spent 2 years here next week...

Good night!

What do you mean by "being with a friend"? Meaning you spent 4 hours being a good friend? 4 hours teaching people how to be good friends?
