Blaidd
A badass, that's who. It's time I started believing that about myself. But I can't think my way into that. The mind does not have the power to independently think its way into anything. It only has the power to desire change. If I'm going to wash my brain into something else, then I have to use the power of habit. And also, I just don't like the life I'm living. I don't like being poor as I am, and I don't like feeling like I'm unworthy of romancing/being romanced, and I don't like having so many half-baked novels. I just don't like it. So, I'mma start some new processes and see what happens. And, naturally, I'll be posting workouts and stuff here as well. I'll try to get out and say hello to everyone too, but we've gotten kinna popular lately and the schedule makes that hard as is. If I'm gonna go to work on my life, I can't imagine it gets any easier. So, t-minus 4 days and counting...uh, a badass, that's you!! <fixed it for you! Secondly, if i wasn't happily in love and a billion miles away I'd totes make the googly eyes at you Thirdly, yeah sorry about sending all them newbies your way. Actually i'm not really all that sorry The ones I work with, yeah. Threw out compliments like a fiend today. A friendly fiend. yeah you wouldn't wanna be a creepy fiend The guru was not above lying to other business people to gank their clients. He says, and I quote: "This doesn't actually have to be true, this isn't an ethics class." To which I said: "Ah, but alas: I am an ethical person." *CLICK*yeah that's not cool. I mean if anything happened to a client due to your unethical advertising you could be in deep deep deep water and never be able to practice again - people love their libel suits (or what). In South Africa we literally have a law against unethical advertising and a whole court that is dedicated to just hearing cases against these companies. One of Jax' friends makes a ton of money representing the individuals who open these cases. It's crazy! Here's what worked for me as far as talking to women. I was at a party. The lady in question got a beer out of the cooler. I got a beer out of the cooler. She commented that she wished she had got the brand of beer I pulled out. I told her, "We'll swap! I don't have cooties!" We're married now so it must have worked. And Amy is awesome Is it weird to compliment a guy on his clothing... huh. I dunno. I complimented a guy on his bow tie, and he didn't take it as being weird. I guess it's on the other person as to whether it's a weirdness or not, and ultimately that makes it a reflection of them, and not of you.I once ran after a lady in the mall to tell her how much I loved her shoes - i really just wanted to know where she got them so i could also get a pair - and she didn't think that was weird at all. As a matter of fact, she said it made her day. Sometimes a small compliment really does light up someone's day You're kicking ass <3 1 Half Faerie (Sidhe) Scout | Black Belt Kitchen Ninja "A positive attitude will not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort" - Herm Albright You're welcome to skype me (audriwolf) too but let me know who you are My challenge Link to comment
Kishi
.......I think my brain exploded.................. It's a lot of info. Excellent infographic. Yeah, but you do crazy amounts of burpees. What did the other workout entail? Or can you say? All the reading and writing is good. Finding any good advice? Well, it goes less burpees-sprints in place-push ups-squat jumps. Repeat two rounds, rest 90 seconds, then try to hit the amount of burpees in a time limit. Couldn't hit the push ups for some reason. So far, most of the advice if it's there is psychological. But it also talks about how the guy started up doing what he's doing now as a side job, which means it's possible. The concrete part of that hasn't shown up yet. I have a feeling it won't, but TBH the book is good enough that I think it's okay. Just knowing it's possible, you know? Whoa. I have the body of a man who fights bears on a mountain! (Akshully, I really kind of do.) Go fight bears! uh, a badass, that's you!! <fixed it for you! D'aww. Creepy fiends aren't cool. Unless they get television shows made about them, like Hannibal. Yeah, no, I don't want to be in a position to try to get money from the guy for being unethical just so I can go make money doing what I love. I'd rather just skip to the end, kthanx. Yeah, that's the point I got too. If someone doesn't know how to handle a compliment - provided it's well-made - then it's really on them, and the only thing you've done is tried to make their day better. There are worse things. Thank you! * Quick one. 12/16 for compliments with two days left to go. Have done writing things every day this week. Hit a quick CC-style strength session: Wall Push Ups: 2x25Incline Push Ups: 2x15, 17 (looking in a mirror helps you to be really conscious of which muscles you're using). Knee Tucks: 2x14, 18 Took measurements in preparation for the experiment. They are... sliding back. Dammit. I really need to get better at this programming thing. Took photos. Kishi
Boom! 17/16 for the week's compliments. Need to do some writing. But first! Don't worry, I hid it so you don't have to stare at the pale hairy if you don't want to. Also, really glad that they're reasonably sized. Stupid CC and how I've seen it work for people but can't make it accelerate fat loss. Oh well. I won't have to think about it for two weeks. I'll just be able to test myself in other ways. Sketches and doodles, I know how it goes. Well fight on, can't wait to see what becomes of it! I hear you on the cutting back. Bruce Lee's the daily decrease and such. Aw, you know it! That is a sweet shower curtain. Dude, I hadn't even noticed how sweet. Might have to watch the show just for that curtain. Seriously man, just... good job. Thanks! Feels good. Nah. Here at the halfway point between 40 and 50 yoa, I call it "making friends with my flaws." You're solidly on track, and your lurches are finite. No need for any of life's greatest pleasures to have guilt-sprinkles. That's kind of how I feel about it, yeah. I feel like life is short, and on its own it is full of much bitterness. I don't want to inflict more on myself than I must, you know? * So, new training started yesterday. Did a bunch of upper body work - push up variations with some grounded burpees thrown in. Shoulders definitely talking to me today whenever I lean on something, and even though I had 2500+ kcal and three freaking cups of rice yesterday I woke up hungry. I'm kind of wowed. Also, I ended up sleeping 10.5 hours last night, which was an experience unto itself. I honestly think the training is related to that, and if so it blows my mind that 26 minutes of training could knock me out so hard. Mixed in a little convict conditioning for kicks last night, too: Vertical Pulls: 2x25Bent Leg Inverted Ring Rows: 1x10 (progression standard!) Knee Tucks: 2x16, 19 All's good so far. 'bout to go off and run some sprints now. 2 Work like a farmer, train like an athlete, fight like a soldier. 2 Tim. 2:3-6 BATTLE! Link to comment

You've said it before, intensity is a major factor. Sounds like you definitely brought that. Yup! My anaerobic conditioning appears to be holding well. I was able to go through from one thing to the next to the next in each circuit without much in the way of rest. It was the muscles that stopped, not me. * Set the time for 15 minutes and ran 16 ~50-yard sprints. 800 yards in 15 minutes? I'll take it. Had a guy come on though who supposedly ran track when he was young and clocked 1200 yards in the same time period. I feel challenged. Oh, also: Compliments: 6/4 Writing: 0/1 Oops. Mistr
Yay! Found you! I talk to the ones there are to talk to. The restaurant doesn't give us much in the way of time. You know, you could take advantage of that short interaction time at work for drive-by compliments. Especially if you pick women who are getting things to go. "Here you are Mrs. Jones, and I just had to mention that your scarf brings out the color in your cheeks". Yeah, the burpees aren't so challenging. I mean, yeah, they'll kill me, but they don't scare me anymore. But talking to people does. So yay. Start with the older ladies. They don't get many compliments any more and will think you are a charming young man. No risk. Once you have the phrases coming out easily, you can gradually reduce the age of your drive-by targets until you get to the demographic you are most likely to date. Although, I saw a picture about body types on Imgur that convinced me that I'm on the right track and that a lot of the things I cared about aren't really worth caring about. I finally looked in the mirror and said, "Not bad, man. Not bad," and meant it all the way down to my bones. That was earlier today, and I smile thinking about it... so it must have been true, right? Thank you for sharing the body image infographic. Excellent information. I am so happy that you liked what you saw in the mirror! Yup, that's what I've been doing. I try to just drop a nice thing that nobody really expects - nice things about a shirt or that kind of thing. It's actually played into feeling smoother with people, like, I feel like I'm more comfy talking than not. It's fun. I'm thinking that's what I'll do. Right now I have to master the game where I am. I've gotten to the point where I can play the levels - now I need to grind out perfect scores. ... wow, you're right. I hadn't thought to notice, but yeah, that's how it's been these past six months.
