Once apon a time I rode Downhill Mountain bikes, I climbed, I mountaineered, I was lean and fast and I want that back ... I have currently lost 20lbs and estimate I have another 14lbs to go to get under 20% body fat. Once I have accomplished that I want to Build muscle and strength and general fitness through doing weight training mixed with intensive cardio ... Oh and break my habit for living on packets of crisps (chips) and coke Main Quest: Lower Bodyfat to less than 20%, do a pull-up and get a good technique in strength training Quest 1: Strength: I am still in a calorie deficit, so the workout is to maintain muscle and teach me good technique for when I start to bulkA - Full body workout - every other day B - Full body workout - 3 days a weekC - Full body workout - 2 days a week Quest 2: Cardio: 3 mile walk each work day lunch time to the shop and backA - 5 days a weekB - 3-4 days a weekC - 1-2 days a week Quest 3 - Diet: I am addicted to Coke and drink far too much of it (although recently its diet coke its potentially still bad for me) so it has to go I want to reduce the amount of coke I drink to 6 cans or less a week A - 0-6 cans a week B - 7-9 cans a week C - 10-14 cans a week Side Quest: I really want to be SSCP certified, so need to stop being lazy and start reading and learning A - 1 chapter a week B - 1 chapter every 2 weeks C - 1 chapter every 3 weeks Motivation: I have 2 motivations .... the 1st is purely vain, I want to be able to take my top off at the pool when I go swimming with my daughter and not feel embarrassed my my manboobs and skinny arms ..... and secondly, I want to be a child again, I loved to play, I want to run and jump and cycle and swim and lift heavy things and punch things and play ! 2 Human | Ranger Level 3 | STR: 8 | DEX: 2 | STA: 8 | CON: 5 | WIS: 0 | CHA: 7 Current Challenge / Second Challenge, / My First Challenge Link to comment
Ornata
Hi Eleanorsbee -- nice quests! Really nice balance you got going here. What kind of strength training are you doing, just out of curiosity? I had to look up what SSCP certification was, and I'm glad I did. How cool! Good luck on all your goals! Eleanorsbee
Hi Ornata thanks for the welcome .... the strength training is 3 sets of 8-12 reps using dumbbells, for upper body and a barbell for squats and calves and then inverted pull-ups and pushups as well Lower body Squats - low weight, I have only just moved on from body weight squats calf training - don't know whats its called, but standing on a book/step and lowing the heel up and down while holding weights upper body dumbbell rows, flyes, tricep kick back, lying tricep extension, bicep curls, bench press, press ups ... and the killer - the pull-up routine ... currently doing inverted pull-ups as thats the best I can do :-( Human | Ranger Level 3 | STR: 8 | DEX: 2 | STA: 8 | CON: 5 | WIS: 0 | CHA: 7 Current Challenge / Second Challenge, / My First Challenge Link to comment

LadyWitch
Can't say I've noticed any benefits with my weight loss, but I've been getting far fewer headaches, and my gums have stopped bleeding when I brush my teeth I still allow myself the occasional can/glass of something non-coke related, mostly because it makes going out easier, so I'll have the occasional lemonade or ginger beer Check out my character here! Terinatum
Welcome Eleanorsbee! Sorry about the trap crap. How did the air squats go? They can be pretty intense. I did this one challenge where you had to start with 1 squat per minute and then add 1 squat for each minute after. I got to 15 squats in a minute and fell onto my chair in wonderful pain! lol Don't go crazy like I did, but let those squats mean something. I hope you are recovery well. Best of Luck! Eleanorsbee
Oh the squats !!!! Its like the most delightful pain I have ever experienced, seriously why isnt everyone doing these. I did 3 sets of 20 reps .... by the end I was sweating, my heart was pounding, and it felt like it took me for ever to walk the wobbly mile to pick my daughter up from nursery .... it stripped every amount of engery out my entire body .... slightly sore today, but in a good way Staci has a lot to answer for !!!!!!!!!! LadyWitch
I need to make my squats harder... Eleanorsbee
I dont see it staying still and cats only weigh 3lbs-7lbs thats not much weight.... you would be better off buying another cat as using them as dumbells ... that way your squats would be 6-14lbs and you could incorporate catbell lunges and catbell rows if you get in to the home lifting scene, you could buy a dog for deadlifts ? 1 Human | Ranger Level 3 | STR: 8 | DEX: 2 | STA: 8 | CON: 5 | WIS: 0 | CHA: 7 Current Challenge / Second Challenge, / My First Challenge Link to comment

Eleanorsbee
When I first signed on the dotted line, I thought I was heading for the handsome life of a Ranger ..... weights, running, looking rugged and speaking in a dramatic voice. The more I read though ..... the more I have been inspired by Calisthenics, bodyweight workouts and the shizzle that Waldo can do ...... I am sticking to my 6WC as above .... but I never specified what my workouts would consist off ..... and I know its been 5 days, but they have migrated away from flyes and deadlifts ... and I have taken on a cross between the beginner bodyweight and Advanced bodyweight workout for the 6 weeks. Even bigger reason to drop the lbs now ..... no way I stand to do half those moves harrying around this fat !!!!! 1 Human | Ranger Level 3 | STR: 8 | DEX: 2 | STA: 8 | CON: 5 | WIS: 0 | CHA: 7 Current Challenge / Second Challenge, / My First Challenge Link to comment
LadyWitch
As someone who can't afford a gym, and has no room for weights at home, I do most of my strength training though bodyweight workouts... I love knowing that I can (or at least, will) lift my own body weight in any position... Hence why I think something like yoga is a great compliment to pure strength training. Gets you flexible and using your strength in other positions too. Check out my character here!
