Road to Rockstardom: Liberator's 7th Challenge

Liberator

Recommended Posts

Why a Rockstar? A few people have called me a rockstar on different occasions in the past few months. The first time I was embarrassed then a few more people said it. I realized I loved it, so I am owning it and embracing my inner rockstar!   I have recruited my colleague and we are planning to have a rockstar school year together.  So rockstardom is an on going project of awesomeness.

What is a Rockstar?
What qualities of a rockstar do I want in my life?
Confidence: A rockstar oozes confidence. Mind, body & spirit confidence is my aim.
Kick ass body: A rockstar is in shape and ready to rock all night. I want to be up for whatever adventures come my way or I make happen.
Fearless, A rockstar takes on life's challenges and lives large.
Fun: A rockstar doesn't take life to seriously.
Stylish: A rockstar dresses with confidence and personal style and is not afraid to be noticed
Rebellious: A rockstar follows their own heart and lives a creative passionate life.
Entourage: A rockstar doesn't do it all alone, they have support staff. I want to develop my own "support staff" and a positive rapport with the people around me.

Favorite Rockstar Role Models:
Sting: I love how Sting walked away from the security of a teaching position and followed his passion for music.  I love how chooses to work with other amazing musicians and is open to many different styles of music. I love his writing skills. The man can write gorgeous lyrics!
Eddie Vedder: I love his crazy, fearless 50 feet jump and crowd surfing awesomeness. I love his giving humble spirit.
Patti Smith: I love her courage and her heart. She has an amazing ability to love.
Joe Strummer: Risktaker with passion and meaningful purposeful rebelliousness!

"Magic?" the old man replied, his raspy voice curling around the pipe like smoke,

"There's no such thing as that; not the way they mean...

There's sight, there's wisdom, and there's motion.

The rest is just...seeing what happens."

Hahaha! I know chocolate is great. My weight keeps creeping back up and I don't eat many bad things. I will treat myself to to a whole chocolate bar a couple times a week. I need to get it under control.

Gratitude:

I am grateful for a warm blanket to snuggle under on chilly days.

I am grateful for fast and nutritious meals from the grocery store.

I am grateful for sleep, I am worn out today.

I am grateful I don't take any meds. I have had numerous students who struggle with meds and the difficulty of trying to get off of them.

I am grateful for J increased understanding of directions. He is closing the fridge when you tell him to.

I am grateful for all the opportunities the universe supplies. Friday, there was a job posting for an on-line tutoring position I am one of five people that qualify for the position and it is a great resume builder. Today, another posting for conducting a workshop that I am uniquely qualified for and it is two blocks away from my house. It is as if someone is writing these posting with me in mind.

Confidence & Style: I bought this bright orange 60's retro coat from a vintage shop when I was out with friends. It was totally a peer-pressure thing, I brought it because all my friends loved it on me. It was only $30, so I got it thinking it will sit in my closet. And it did until this weekend. I wore it to an outdoor party, out to art galleries and today. Each time I was the only person with a bright color on, I was definitely noticed, especially at the grocery store. I will not fear color! :peach:

No black pants today!  :peaceful:  Olive Maxi skirt and new shoes   :peaceful:

Fearlessness: I was struggling with what I am going to do for fearlessness. I have a list of things I need to do that I have been putting off. I need to get over my various anxieties with these things and make them happen.

- Roof repair

- Jacob's teeth cleaning

- Leaded window repair

- Tax Planning

- Retirement planning

- Not taking home a pile of work and books and don't do or read anyway.

Six things to tackle, one for each week. Wednesday will be my "Get It Done Day"  to focus on making these things happen.

Liberator, there's sooo much positive energy and good karma here, it's just overflowing.

It makes the impression on me that you are starting already in a good place, is that so?

The only thing  I am a little bit worried about is the amount of details and that they will overwhelm you. Make sure you rest from time to time!

Beauty & Style:

Last night was Home Spa night (and Guys' Night) I did a henna treatment on my hair, as the boys watched a movie and ate pizza and wings. I like the color of henna and it is all natural. The downsides are it takes a couple hours to do and a few days to completely remove from my hair, it only lasted 4-6 weeks, it is messy and my hair smells like hay for days.  That said it does look good and has great body and waves from the first week. Last challenge I tried Morocco method all natural shampoo. It took time to get use to it. My hair was healthier and had great body, I didn't lose as much hair in the shower and my hair seemed stronger. I switched to a different all natural shampoo that didn't make my hair look as greasy or sticky. I liked it better, however I am losing hair in the shower again and my hair seems thinner and more fly-away. So I want something in the middle. I am going to see if I can alternate between the shampoos.

I think it is time to get rid of my old yoga pants and so other things that make me look too sloppy and don't suit my body. I am not comfortable in any of my jeans lately so I need an alternative for casual weekend wear. My husband is probably going to think I am a bit weird for wearing skirts on the weekend, however I am super comfy in them. More wardrobe work needed. :)

Need weekly meal plan.

Bodylove:   :peaceful: rest day 2/10; Monday a workout day is planned and Thursday. I will have to use the school  gym, no time to get to the health club until Saturday.

Beauty & Style: I want to see if I can go the whole challenge without wearing black pants. There are years that all I wore was black pants like it was my uniform or something!! I brought another dress today and a bunch of colorful winter coats. Really trying to got away from so much black.

I am grateful for the dappled sunlight streaming through the window. Beautiful sun, so reliable, so giving. It is understandable why so many ancient cultures worshipped the sun. Thank you Sun, without you I would be completely lost. You give me everything, light, energy, food, warmth, wind, seasons, time… life. You are amazing.

This is a wonderful 'sun salutation' :)

"Magic?" the old man replied, his raspy voice curling around the pipe like smoke,

"There's no such thing as that; not the way they mean...

There's sight, there's wisdom, and there's motion.

The rest is just...seeing what happens."

Today I was wide awake at 4 am, a issue was bothering me. I took action to resolve it and fell back asleep and then got up late for work and had a rocky day. It was difficult to be smiling and kind but these are the days that maintaining your composure really matters. I still had some nice interactions with students and colleagues so all is not lost. Tomorrow is another day.

I feel a bit of the blues. I need a bit of solitude and a good nights rest to bounce back. Life is good.
