18ck Was Only Supposed To Blow The Bloody Oars Off

Subbing in.

Oh I do dearly miss english parks and bike rides.  Many squirrels around this time of year? I love those critters.

Hope work doesn't bog you down too much, and you manage to maintain activity through the next few weeks :)

Ugh, the week didn't end well, at least not as far as goal-meting goes. No portuguese, no running, no food that wasn't made of bread wrapped in bread and fried in bread oil. I didn't even get down to the rowing club, whcih I think makes it the first weekend I've missed in.... oh god, I don't know. I've been working, working, working and eating, eating, eating.

This morning was a bit nicer, Mrs 18ck had her half marathon so Flyer and I went along to support her and we shouted and cheered and Flyer high-fived everyone who passed by. Mrs 18 was a bit under-trained and wasn't feeling good about the race at all but she had a really good runner pacing her so she did really well. Even with a tweaky hip (setting in at about mile 10) she managed a PR somewhere around 2.40. So it wasn't a total disaster as a weekend but I need to pull my socks up for next week, I think

Oh and I'm falling further and further behind in the diction PvP. I don't know if you can read it but just above her name she's written "18ck's going down!"

Hey 18ck.

Tough on the weekend thing, sorry. With your work, it seems really tough to manage your needs. Is there anything that can be done while you're at work (during breaks) that can put you in touch with your body again?

The food will always be there so ask your brain, when it's screaming for the bread!) if you let that go right now, I'll get you some the next time. Then the next time it asks, same thing. So hopefully that gets you to a sustainable 50%.

Good Luck, I hope this week is going better. Hugs!

Hi 18ck!

Thought I'd pop in for a metaphorical cup of tea on your thread :)

Am I allowed to say that Flyer19 is adorable?  An assassin should be allowed to kill people with high heels - who'd a thunk it? :)

That portuguese book - ha ha ha!  I'm sure the author would find my family a disappointing contradiction to his book.  And I don't remember anyone behaving like that at a Cambridge formal hall either, but let's not let the facts get in the way of anecdotal stories! :D  After all, a don would have done thorough research, right?!

As the fish in Nemo might sing (sorry haven't seen the movie so don't know its name!!) "Just keep sculling" :)

Sounds like Flyer and Mrs are exceeding their goals - how about you?? Any better the past few days??

Hm, not so much, actually. Missed my Tuesday session this week to attend a thing at Flyer's school. Today is circuits day but it started half an hour ago and I've only just left work (and planning on doing a few hours more when I get there) so it's a big, fat goose egg this week so far. Hi ho.

Thanks for the support. I'm all over the place at the moment. When I pull out of this there's going to be a lot of repair work to do.

Oh yeah, you can say that about Flyer as often as you like. She's away on a school trip, staying away at an outdoorsy adventure centre for a couple of nights. We're missing her a lot but apparently they set some traps and she caught a shrew. That's m'girl.

Now, I wonder if BBC Good Food has any nice shrew recipes.

Hm...

Shrewdles?

Chroux buns?

Mushrewm Shrewp?

Anyway, how is your bump? Sorry I haven't visited for a while. Busy, busy, and hardly ever logging in these days.

She sounds like a proper assassin-in-training, catching (small) beasts in the wild!

I once had a shrew in my bedroom at home (as a teenager).  We got the neighbours' cat round to deal with it. :)

Anyway, hope she's having a fantastic time! :)  And maybe shrew has the sort of flavour that would make it a hit on a savoury Great British Bake Off challenge?  (I love that program!)

Me/bump seem to be well, thanks for asking.  Hope work eases up soon for you!

Being so busy is rough, but you're staying focused on what's important, so that's a win. I'm not sure if I'm ready for shrew food porn...

I turned the shrew recipe idea into a twitter hashtag but there wasn't much mileage in it

Anyway

I got up early and went out on the water with a guy from my rowing group and we did a double up the river a few miles. It was good. Afterwards I went to the weight room and did some lifting. The weight I am even lifting is going up and up. Hm... what guild am I in again?

Most of the rest of the day has been working but I went for a walk with Flyer in the evening and we stopped for some bridges, skips, handstands, pullups, balancing, and a short sprint, at various strategic spots on the route. It was a lot of fun.

I've even eaten reasonably well. Yes. A few more days like this would be good.

Day 2 of my resurgent scoutliness:
Well, it didn't start well. I was up till 4AM working then slept till mid-day. The afternoon swept by in a haze of stress but in the late PM I went for a vibram run for a couple of K, then after dinner Flyer 19 and I did some Neila Rey workouts - Pokemon, full metal, Lara Croft with a bonus round (Full Metal again for me, Pokemon for her) at the end.

And I've eaten reasonably well and listened to a portuguese podcast. Still lots of work to do but i'm aiming for a 10PM bedtime. this is my dream. it's not much but it's all I've got *melodramatic face*

Well done! Hopefully it will continue

Catching them all from my iPad using tapatalk

Hey, it's a good thing. You're back in the swing. Enjoy it! You've sacrificed plenty to work. Now you have room to enjoy yourself, take it!!

Thanks both for the encouragement.

Sadly, another day with my neglected gym stuff in my bag, leaving work at 9pm. Piss.

Ok, that sounds like a thing I can do instead of circuits. Thanks. What is the theme about? It's not one I recognise.

you need to ask @tateman about it, I am not yet familiar with full metal alchemist. :)
