[Katastrophenkatzchen] Kitty takes babysteps

Recommended Posts

I dropped out last challenge.

Nothing to talk around it.

This time I will do way easier goals:

1. No Booze for 42 days (Joker for October 11th.... the wedding of my uncle) win/lose (+ 1 CON)

2. Work up to do "guy" push ups (+5 STR)

http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/02/15/proper-push-up/

Goal is doing at least one proper push-up at the end of the challenge. So it's a win/lose goal but the goal is still passed (with a bad grade) if I can do at least 4 sets of 5 knee pushups.

3. Leave the house every day... even if it's just a 10 min walk - 42 points (+5 STA)

4. Wear my glasses: week 1 and 2 at least 30 min, week 3 and 4 at least 1 h, week 5 and 6 at least 1,5 h a day - 42 points (+2 CHA)

These goals seem totally easy but I need to set goals that are sustainable for 6 weeks.

I totally suck at that.

eggs, I have them for 1 and a half month I guess and I know I see better with them but somehow..... I don't know I don't wear them when leaving the house because I'm scared of losing or breaking them ( they were expensive but are pretty <3)

I can't get used to the thought that I need them, I think.

I decided on the programm for the push-ups:

Goal is doing at least one proper push-up at the end of the challenge. So it's a win/loss goal but the goal is still passed (with a bad grade) if I can do at least 4 sets of 5 knee pushups.

Welcome back!!!

Do you really need your glasses?

Or just for driving?

Don't wear them if they don't feel ok.

I had to work my bottom off to get rid of 1,5 diopters. Still have -4,75 left...

Fate whispers to the warrior: "You cannot withstand the storm."

 The warrior whispers back:
 "
I am the storm."

I need them for reading but didn't even put them on in lecture in University when sitting waaaay in the back.

I know that I become tired when reading way faster without glasses than with them and that I can read easier and faster.

So yes, I need them for reading... but honestly.... I'm not used to wear something on my nose!

Yesterday was a good start:

1. No Booze yes

2.  push ups nope

3. Leave the house yes

4. Wear my glasses: yes (40 min while watching anime to get used to them...)

You have great goals :). I know the problem with glasses, it also took me a long time to get used to them. However, when you're used to them you don't want to go without them ;).

Yes, yes.... I like them alot while playing point&click atventures with my boyfriend... sooo much easier to read. And I don't get so tired....

I have some strange eye thing going on..... one thing makes the image in the eye be projected before the retina and the other thing behind it.

Really weird!

Good going, Kätzchen :)

First week is usually going good. I didn't really come to the hard stuff. ;)

Next time I practise push-ups (I'm still at wall push-up-level) I'll do the wrist warm-up first!

Hope to be able to progress to inclined push-ups soon. But form is first priority now.

I really like your goals. I am doing a cut back on alcohol for this challenge, but not totally quitting it. Maybe next time. I also really like the 10 minutes outside. Right now I'm out a lot every day to go to work / visit client's at home, but soon I will be self-employed and working from home. Getting out and about for even a short time is going to be really important for me also.

Nice job so far. Keep kicking butt! :)

Yay! Sustainable goals. I've been mainly been focusing on forcing myself to do things I like and/or really need to get done to try to forge some successes building habits before trying something crazy like forcing a set number of workouts or something. I'ld have some trouble with that 'leave the house everyday' though.

Pay glasses have wildly different prescriptions for the different eyes and were causing me to see double. I already had a lazy eye, it was just fighting to try to do something once corrected and causing the weirdness. When I told the doc, he decided to just put a clear piece of glass over the lazy eye and correct the fairly good eye to perfect. I never even knew that was an option. I just told him exactly what was happening and said I never wear them, 'cause it's safer for me to drive with the distance a little blurry than to randomly start seeing double at all ranges.

I hate wrist pain from push-ups too. I opt for knuckles pushups most of the time to keep my wrists straight.

It's great you returned with more sensible goals after your earlier setback. Glad your making some progress on your goals. Keep it up!

Babysteps are the best and they lead forward as all other steps (almost) do  :nevreness:

I like your goals and I think you can ace them!

Dropping out is easy, coming back is hard so you already did a great achievement, right!?

I should also work on my big girl pushups  :playful:

Lets finish strong on week one....

Pretty bad.... It goes as I thought.... my bf has vacation and my goals were a compromise to playing lots of things with bf and becoming healthier.

Friday to Thursday report:

1. No Booze 7 of 7

2.  push ups no

3. Leave the house 5 of 7

4. Wear my glasses: 2 of 7

Somehow I do more playing all the things than becoming healthier.

Nö booze for seven whole days!!! You're nuts, kiddo, but you did it :D AND you went out most days. AND you wore your glasses a couple if times. Sounds like progress to me.

Maybe push-ups aren't the right goal right now. Perhaps wrist exercises working towards push-ups? Or wall push-ups first thing in the morning before your brain has a chance to protest?

Whatever, three out if four goals are progressing, which is pretty damn good if you ask me...

Doing it first thing in the morning did the trick.

Wrist streching

10 sec plank

20 wall push ups

5 inclined on countertop

15 wall ups

Eggs, I always do wall ups cause I can't do other versions.

Alcohol is especially hard on weekend.... I'd love to have some wine or Federweiser. But... I stay strong.
