So in lieu of a gym I joined the nerd fitness academy, I'm hoping the game-ist approach they build will spur me into more and more fitness and lifestyle upgrades.

 

Goal 1: Academy Quests

 

These seem to be more focused on habits etc.

 

A Complete 25 (2 wis)

B 20

C:10

D: 5

 

Goal 2: General Quests, there is all kinds of stuff here (1 wis, 1 sta, 1 cha)

Goal 3:  Assassin Quests (since there are no monk quests)  (3 str, 1 dex, 1 con)

Goal 4:  Make my own damn monk quests!  You're not the boss of me, academy!  (2 dex, 2 sta, 1 con)

 

Gonna take suggestions/requests on this one but the numbers are the same!

They vary from do a 5 minute walk to stick to a fitness plan for 3 months. Do a 30 second wall sit and do a 60 second plank are the mid range stuff

There's gotta be something in WH40K about academies and such.

Also, me and the other guildies gotta get our acts together and figure out what we're gonna be about with those quests for the academy. Shame on us.

The whole multiple discipline aspect of monks and druids makes it tough. I was sad that I could not pick my true path

Did a bunch of the academy things, before photo, taking measurements, picking a path.

 

Measurements (In lieu of before photos)

Weight: 160lbs

Neck: 15.5"

Chest: 37.5"

Waist: 31.5"

Hips: 37.25"

Thigh: 20.5"

Calf: 14.5"

Bicep: 13.5"

I said multiple disciplines made it hard, too.  I suggested splitting martial arts into Hard Arts (punches/kicks) and Soft Arts (throws and joint locks).  Not perfect by any means, but things that can help generalize how training works. *shrug*

 

Also, where's your "Come to Boston" goal?  You train with 7FG, you can't have THAT MUCH WILLPOWER to resist Mr. Recruitment Officer over there. :P

I've been harassing him.  He hasn't cracked yet.  Some nonsense about "scheduling".

Reviewed the diet section and I'm somewhere between lvl 7 and 9.  Which is pretty much precisely where I want to be.  Less dairy is my goal there, stupid coffee with milk and greek yogurt.

Are the quests in the form of progressions?  That would be a problem with the variety in martial arts.  Otherwise, is it do X number of [technique]?  So many techniques to choose from!  Or something like learn and practice all techniques for [kyu or your equivalent]?

They vary, some are follow X plan for 2 weeks, 4 weeks 3 months.  Some are do X,

 

My most recent monk quest:  Do a plank longer than all the general plank quests combined x 2
