Preparing for the contract

Will dropped down the the rooftop the note had indicated. He looked around carefully and saw the small man standing by access door. He could see the two heavies trying to hide in the shadows but was not concerned. He walked up to the man and nodded to him. The little man sneered and looked him over, finally speaking in a whisper.

 

"You are smaller than I expected. We were hoping for more."

 

"You are foolish to let appearances trick you."

 

"We shall see. Everything you need is in the folder. You might want to shape up a bit before taking this guy on..."

 

"The job will be completed by the proper time, I assure you."

 

"See that it is, Assassin. See that it is."

 

The little man handed him an envelope of cash and a large sealed folder. Will accepted it and watched as the man and his associates left the rooftop. He opened up the folder and began to laugh. The picture inside was the very man who had handed him his assignment. So much for the warning, but Will also knew not to underestimate a target. His assassin training had taught him that much at least. He had six weeks to complete the mission, so he might as well take his time in planning this one out. This little man could be more complicated than he seemed.

@Harika I am a full time student and trying to be full time employed. That is going to require streamlining my schedule a lot

 

@Batwoman Something that pays comparable or better to current job with better treatment of employees

That is 80-hours of expected work. With 8 hours of sleep that is the entirety of 5 days, solid, without time to eat, cook, bathe, . . . @_@

 

Better pay and better treatment is something worth spreading yourself thin for.

Hey there! You look like you have some solid goals. My question is how are you going to be measuring your progress? Other than Mission 2, which can be rather obviously measured.

@NicTheRugger   For Time Management: having more sleep time and free time to do other things.

                              For "Find a better job": Non hostile work environment would be a nice start...and maybe a regular schedule.

@Harika Job hunt is progressing. have had several interviews so just waiting on call backs.

                Time management is working as I have been able to get a bit more sleep since I started scheduling everything in a planner :)

Update to progress:

 

Time Management Quest: Now that I have reorganized things and have a new job which has more reasonable hours, things are falling into place. I am having more time to spend with my son and more free time to work out.

 

Conditioning Quest: Things are underway without issue. Started with 10 sets of 10 pattern to warm things up and 2 5 mile walks rather than a single 10, but all will be evolving as the quest continues.

 

Better Job Quest:  Old job is gone, starting new job at 10am today. Once I have been there a bit I will be able to judge more. Everyone there is pleasant and smiling and the pay rate is workable.

Conditioning Quest: Now up to 5 sets of 20 pattern to warm things up for my 10 mile, but all will be evolving as the quest continues.


 


Better Job Quest:  New job is working out well. Minor vehicle issues but no need to worry on that as it will be fixed.

~A dark rooftop in the city~

 

William Crouched low, his rifle trained on the target. The little weasel had been harder to track than he expected. As he aimed, he softened his breathing until his heartbeat was the only sound in his ears. As the cross hairs fell into place, William exhaled and squeezed the trigger. He watched through the scope as the bullet passed through the glass and into his target's chest with no emotion.

 

He took the rifle apart, laying it in the case and armed the explosives. As he sat in the coffee shop across the street, he watched as the rooftop erupted in a fountain of flames and noise. He smiled over his cup. One down...and many to look forward to
