Mini Challenge Thread: We don't need no stinkin title.

I guess I'll have to hit the treadmill incline for this challenge.  No stairs in south Georgia.  There are literally no two-story buildings in our town, and they keep the football stadiums locked tight so you can't access the bleachers there.

 

Getting vertical has been a challenge in getting ready for backpacking/hiking.  With no hills or stairs around, it's hard to get your body in shape for the mountains.

Step ups, maybe? I think a standard flight of stairs is 14 steps.

It's meant as an extra surprise workout, I suppose. Usually they last for a week and it's up to you to keep track. A post here when you're done will do, but feel free to post ideas, progress and anything that might inspire and keep the enthusiasm levels high :)

Good thing I work on the 5th floor at work then... managed to get 12 flights already today (since our filing room is on the main floor) all before 10 am!!

Working on the top floor does have its benefits.  6 flights just to get up here and I am already over 50 flights for the week.

I'm at 10 flights at home (with a buckets of laundry or bags of groceries) and 10 flights at work.  I need to increase the workload with a workout to get to fifty.  Tomorrow was suppose to be biking, but I can go for a run and find some stairs instead.

Per this article - the average flight of stairs is 12 steps. So, 600 steps to complete this challenge. Let's get to it!

Excellent mini quest, definitely adding a daily walk up the stairs to the 7th floor in work to the 'new me' lifestyle (doesn't hurt that one of the lifts is broken so at the minute it's faster to walk it!).  

Come on team! Don't leave me all alone at the top here!

Oh, and I'm in.

 

Sweet! I counted the steps at the station this morning and there are 86 steps. That means it's 7 flights of stairs! So with that in mind, I've done 22 flights so far this week. 

 

It's OK, I've got this.

Hmm. . .So using the average of 12 steps = 1 Flight. I'm at 60 Flights. . . Hmm. . .

Already at 47 flights, plus gonna do at least 4 more in the evening when I go to pick up my climbing equipment for Sunday. Don't know if 60 Mountain Climbers on each leg during Wednesday's training count. Think I'll be dropping a rope by tonight to pull my fellow Rangers up

Ran 1 mile with lots of stairs.  The stairs are walkways going up a hill to an office.  Not sure what constitutes a flight, but I'm going to convert to my home stair cases.  I went up 16 steps 25 times for 400 total steps.  My home has 10 steps per flight, so that is 40 flights.  Add in my previous 10 home flights and I'm at 50.  My work flights are much long than 10 steps, probably around 30, so that's another 30 flights.  Whatever the count, I put in some work!

Done! I waited for everyone to leave work and went up and down the stairs 20 times. Add that to my going to the upstairs office throughout the day and I'm just past 50!

I work on the fourth floor, apparently double height, 24 stairs per floor. 6 or 7 trips Thursday 10 or 11 Friday. I tell my coworkers take the stairs, it's free exercise, but they don't and I have to wait for the pokey elevator to finally bring them upstairs.

I did it, I go up and down my stairs at home constantly every day. I estimated how many I do minimum a day, then threw in 20 extra in a row just for good measure.

 

If i had known Dark_Raider was gonna throw down a rope I woulda just waited... Just kidding.
