The internet is a small place indeed. haha. We lived in the UK before moving here, so I miss that in return. But as long as there are still bags in my family pack of PG Tips I'm ok. Still relatively new here, so let me know if you have any 'must visit' places. 1 Forever Respawning Rebel CURRENT CHALLENGE Previous challenges: 01, 02 "Just sitting here on the corner of awesome and bombdiggity..." - unknown Link to comment

Mera
Day 04 Update I was mentally prepared to hit the pool, only to find out that pool opening times in France are worse than finding a free parking spot in downtown London. Seriously, 12-13:45 and 17-20h. I knew they opened at 12, but I thought they'd be open all afternoon at least. Alas, no swimming today. It worked out in the end though, as I found out I'll be going to the pool with the children I take care of tomorrow. The Mom will meet us there after work, so my plan is (if I have any energy left), to just stay there afterwards to do my lanes. One entrance fee saved! I'll therefore do my meditation day today, which was the plan for tomorrow. So all on track. 3 Forever Respawning Rebel CURRENT CHALLENGE Previous challenges: 01, 02 "Just sitting here on the corner of awesome and bombdiggity..." - unknown Link to comment
Odango
What do I read about France? Seriously though, sorry to read that about the opening times. They often keep the times during the day for schools. Hope you can find a good place to practice regularly. You're doing great!! Hope you can find a good place to practice regularly. You're doing great!! Keep it up Mera You're right. Totally didn't think about that. It all makes sense now. I have a Level 1 Swim Teacher qualification and a big issue I found in London is that kids don't swim often enough and don't learn it in school. So really it's thumbs up for France and I'm happy to schedule my workouts around the kiddos. That does suck about the opening times, but I'm glad to hear you've already found a workaround keep it up! Mera
Day 05 Update: I SWAM! As planned, I went to the pool with the kids this afternoon. We did a bit of exercises for them to improve their swimming, and I got to do my lengths after they left with their Mom. Brand new pool, superbon! I'll be going there with the kids every Friday from now on, which makes scheduling my weekly swim hella easy. I even swam four lengths of front crawl in one go without dying. It seems the whole no smoking, no drinking, working out routine is starting to work. I aim to get back into a shape long-gone, when I could swim for 1.5h+ front crawl without breaks.(Still kinda pissed about not being a mermaid) 2 Forever Respawning Rebel CURRENT CHALLENGE Previous challenges: 01, 02 "Just sitting here on the corner of awesome and bombdiggity..." - unknown Link to comment

Mera
Day 07 Update: Hike today was super lovely. Ended up walking for 3.5-4h, which was more than expected. The legs were quite tired in the end. But totally worth it. Just did 30mins of meditation. I think I need to find a better time of day for those. This late in the evenings (11:30pm here) I'm either too tired or too impatient (or both) to sit how I'd like to. At the moment it's more like: Week 1 Recap: 100% of goals completed! WOOT. Odango
YESSSSS!! Awesome week 1 Well done!Don't know if that helps but I personaly meditate better just after waking up, I literally wake up, sit on the edge of the bed (I feel so uncomfortable in lotus position xD) and just meditate. It's so blissful and my day is so bright after that. Also, weirdly, I get less of the impatient feeling because I feel I have the whole day ahead. Mera
Nol, you're totally right of course. I used to meditate in the mornings and that just made the day so much better. So with this in mind... Day 08 Update: Did this morning, followed by 15mins meditation. The time of day and stretching beforehand made a world of difference. I'll definitely try to keep that going. Before dinner I did a bodyweight workout. After lots of kettlebelling and hiking this weekend, my knees ached a bit today, so I focused on core and upper body:- 50 counter push ups AND 1 SUCCESSFUL CHAIR PUSHUP!- 45sec and 30sec wall plank- wall head stand (free stand for around 5 secs)- 3x12 double leg lifts For dinner we had this paleo broccoli quiche, which was lovely. Although I'm not really doing paleo, just cutting down on complex carbs, so I used normal milk.Overall, successful first day of week 2... 3 Forever Respawning Rebel CURRENT CHALLENGE Previous challenges: 01, 02 "Just sitting here on the corner of awesome and bombdiggity..." - unknown Link to comment
Mera
Week 3 Mini Challenge reproduced from L1 Thread: 1. I'm having a hard time to keep my kettlebell workouts going because my knees have been giving me problems. (Goal 01)2. Researched the forums and found many threads on weights, squats and knee pain (especially, here and here). I think my issue is form rather than runner's knee (no bruise-like pain).3. I'll start doing squats without the bell for a while to get pressure off the knees and really focus on getting my form right.
