Day 09/10 Update:

 

Yesterday, I actually managed to get out of bed 30 mins earlier (and I don't even have to get up very early, but it's still hard) and did my yoga and meditation. I'll try to do this 4 times a week, which will add up to my challenge goal of 60mins meditation.

 

Today, my knees are feeling a lot better. A day recovery was very nice. I watched a video on squat form and did the BBWW without my kettlebell (apart from the rows) when I got home from work. Will do that until knee pain is reduced and strength increased before putting the strain of the bell back on. Will still keep using it for upper body of course. 

For motivation, I watched Buffy while doing my workout. Damn she's awesome.

How are you liking the yoga and meditation? 

 

 

It's been great. Makes for such a nice start for the stay and it's amazing how much better I sit for my meditation after 20mins of yoga.

Day 11/12 Update

Did a meditation this morning (in the car while having to wait 20mins. Talk about time well used). Naturally, I'm more focused at home but I was glad to be able to fit this in today.

It's Friday, so I went for a swim this afternoon. The pool was very crowded so I had to figure out how to get proper exercise while the general speed is very slow. So I did either arms only or legs only with a kickboard. Definitely felt those muscles burning, so I think it worked.
 

Always extra hungry after swimming, so we had homemade beef roast, veg and gravy for dinner.  Yummers.

Saturday, Day 13: 

 

home workout time. I chose the 'burning core pyramid' workout I pinned to my fitness board years ago:

50 crunches, 40 mountain climbers, 30 side crunches, 20 in & outs, 10 scissors, 20 in & outs, 30 side crunches, 40 mountain climbers, 50 crunches.

 

Followed that up by 50 counter push ups. Definitely feeling that today! 

 

Sunday, Day 14:

 

15 mins of meditation completed, with 10 mins chair stretches to prep for meditation beforehand.

Monday, Day 15

 

25 mins mettabhavana meditation in the afternoon. 

 

Evening workout: 'burning core pyramid', 12 (!!!) chair + 38 counter pushups, knee exercises with resistance band (2x12 in all 4 directions for each leg)

 

I also bought myself a scooter today to cut my commuting times, because that's totally allowed in France! I love that thing. So that adds like a couple of dozen lunges with my left leg I guess  :playful: `
