IronGlider Completes Bodyware & OS - Challenge 7

This is it.

     The time has come.

          It's coming full circle.

During the progression of this 7th challenge marks the approximately 1 year into my post-NerdFitness lifestyle! This challenge brings with a high chance of completing one of my biggest life goals: reaching neutral BMI and celebrating all the benefits and capabilities that this lifestyle brings. As someone who's just a hairline away from being morbidly obese for my entire 24 year old life, and with the horrors and limitations it's put on my life, enough is is enough.

On October 3rd, 2013 I had 90lbs to burn. Now I only have 3.8lbs.

It's been a long road, and as I've pressed on, it's become a tough one too. Due to life being a little wild at the moment, this was going to be the first challenge that I skip, but I can't do that. As with reaching any goal, chaos somehow manages to be at its very strongest. But I'm going to face it head on. I'm going to see this through.

5 weeks v.s. 3.8lbs. I'm going to muster everything I've got in this, whilst facing everything that gets in the way of it.

But I need to be strong. And whilst I've been keeping on well with health, fitness and habits practically throughout (with the power of balance!), I've learned that the only real threat any of this had in the first place is every pressure and obstacle around me. I can either repulse or relapse.

LukeRepulse.jpg

So as I look for inner strength to see this voyage through, and all the attempts that have been made to sway me off-course throughout this time, I think "What do I need now to do now? What am I missing?" One can end up feeling a little lost preparing and facing things ahead.

Which is why I will fight the big fight amongst adventurers, even with the going gets tough, even when everything appears to be relentlessly scary, I will press on and I will find a way.

DEATH-STAR_510x510.jpg

And for that, I need the rebel alliance (a.k.a you guys xD) for the big final push.

Coming out of this (hoping that I do) I will forever have changed my history and destiny, and I want to live on in the Rebellion by giving rebels the courage and strength to face their own evil empires, and living the legend.

I briefly look back at the last 11 months, and for the first time, see myself for how I looked like back then. Whoah, I was practically a different person! But I also look back and think "When did I have the most strength and courage?"

And to my surprise, it's not now, it was the very start.

So I will face everything, and come full circle to the person I wanted to be, living the neutral lifestyle. Lets go!

Challenge 7: Completing the first iteration of my Bodyware & OS.

Challenge 1: Facing the evil empire!

I'd list many things I'd want to accomplish within this timeframe, but it's too much to go over and explain, so instead, every-single thing that I need to just do will be represented by using Star Wars enemies!

Upexpected Light Tasks/Obstacles: Stormtroopers

Enemies in the way:

Incinerator Trooper

EVO Trooper
Stormtrooper Commander
Imperial Officer
Senate Guard
Imperial Guard
Jumptrooper
Shadow Guard

End of Challenge Goal: Defeating the Empire

Challenge 2: EXE!

Keep up on exercises, 3x workouts and 3x interval jogging (I've been running in the early morning these past few weeks, lots'a fun!)

Challenge 3: The Swing of Things

This is just keeping up with what I do (which I have been ever since the last challenge concluded. The last challenge presented many obstacles, like weight plateau, but surprisingly, it went after the challenge concluded! Nothing should hopefully get in the way of this, unless the empire overpowers, it's good practice to expect the worst, so that's what I'll do, I'll prepare and be ready!

p.s. Hopefully I can keep on top of my posts/availability here if things get on the wild side, thankfully just yesterday both of my sisters are in a much better situation, putting much less strain/time on me.

p.p.s. Due to not participating a week earlier, I will be cutting the final scores/stats a bit...

Background: 25 year old Nerdling. Here to kick some health......butt?? I need to work on that.

Current Challenge: Hani Gets Back On The Health Choo-Choo

Week 1 Summary:

Everything went to plan, I didn't do as many workouts as I wanted, but that's about it really. Can't believe I finally nailed this 'waking up early' thing... :-p Still cook the same sort of things, but I've made the effort to eat more eggs, as I've noticed I've barely been having them for the last few weeks (as living a *mostly* vegetarian lifestyle, I need every protein I can get!). So once a week (on Wednesday) I aim to make an omelette for dinner from now on! I had one yesterday, it was scrumptious! :-P and is helping with the fast I have going on today!

Week 2:

Day One: Great, every essential thing covered! Ate 3 times today (breakfast, lunch, dinner) now that I'm close to neutrality, I find that it's important to fit days like this in. Also, on Mon, Wed and Fri I plan to either like this, or do a lite fast until 1pm so that I have plenty of strength for a good quality workout. Tue, Thu, and Sat are for doing either 19hr, 24hr or Warrior fasts as I find that they don't intervene with the quality of my jogging in comparison to working out.

Day Two: Another great day! I'm pretty much adapted myself to the soy protein powder I had left over from a year ago which is good (it gave me butt aches back then + it was going to expire pretty soon!), although I won't be buying any of it again after I finish with what I have left... I've been having these on Mon, Wed and Fri (a.k.a workout days). I did a 17hr lite fast.

Day Three: Went well + this is the date of when I officially joined this challenge. I managed to do all the essentials and challenges 2 and 3, but I'd yet to tackle any of the enemies for challenge 1. Hope to rectify that for Thursday :-) I ate normally today because of working out, so no fasts today.

p.s. I've been having this terrible song in my head for the past few weeks (for COMPLETELY the wrong reasons), I think I need help... :-/

While reading your post and the countdown to the last 3.8 lbs this is what was playing in my head.

You are as epic as this film.

You are a poster boy for NF lol Man I am so excited for you... 3.6lbs psch you got this. Will it be strange on the other side? A focus switch from losing to maintaining wow! Admittedly sometimes I forget that after this is all over (this weightloss thing) it isn't actually over and its never over. But by then its a lifestyle and the habits are already built; it becomes a second nature to do these things that seem so much effort now. Its been a real pleasure to see you get to this point and I like that we all got to be apart of your experience. :) Anyways enough of that sappiness!

I also have trouble hitting my protein, but I feel it will be helped with tracking again :) I have never really tracked how much protein I took in before.

Hiya all! Here's how the last few days have gone!

Thursday: 24hr Fast. Interval jogging + lotsa walking
Friday: No fasting today. Interval jogging + lotsa walking (I intended to do a workout, but I spent absolutely hours walking and running around town in a rush to do some much needed shopping...)
Saturday: 24hr Fast. 40min workouts (My workout quality suffered on this day, I was far into the fasting cycle and had moved around way too much by this point...)

Thursday and Friday were good days, Saturday was good until later on one of my sisters panicked the absolute living hell outta me with some of the mess she had gotten into, starting to lose my patience a little, but anyway what's done is done...

Good days for challenge 2 and 3, stormtroopers got in the way of dealing with the bigger enemies for challenge one. Hoping to tackle this today, I gotta keep focused and make sure nothing else gets in the way...

Sunday Diagnostics 28/09/2014:

After maxing out this week in many of the different ways I could, I'm glad to announce it payed off, as I managed to cut off yet another -1.2lbs off my weight, putting my total body-weight at 177.4lbs.

However, for some reason my BF% and M% weren't reading properly today, it came up with a weird error and then largely inconsistent readings. I think I need to change the batteries... :-/ (looking back, my feet were a bit wet, maybe that's why...) either way I know I've gotta change batteries soon because sometimes it's come up with 'low' xD Just 2.4lbs to go go go! xD

...

Hope everybody had an amazing week (looking forward to seeing how you've all done!) hope you're all ecstatic for the following week... <3

Rock those last couple of pounds.

haha I should'a sang this when I made waffles yesterday! xD

Very inspiring! You are awesome! Good job and I'm glad you're here and didn't sit this one out.

Thanks! :-) I'm glad I didn't either. A part of me wanted to wait for a few things to settle, but then I was reminded of Henry Sr's quote from Indiana Jones 3, to which I immediately knew I couldn't sit this one out:

Why are you sitting there resting, when we're so near the end?

:peaceful:

Interesting, around August I was a little anxious on how I would tackle maintenance life (since I've never been there!) I was worried that, without a number, I'd be complacent and staying in one level. Fortunately, reading one of Kamb's article on the subject instantly made me realise what I'd originally forgotten "I've got one chance on this planet" and really, that's the best mentality to have, I can either spend the rest of my life like before, on the brink of morbid obesity and asthma ruling over, or I can have what I have right now + improvements to come.

Now that I know asthma is a CHOICE for me (thankfully), I see it on the same level as something like smoking, it's my choice whether I want the negative effects to ruin my quality of life. And my decision is to never have it back.

And yeah, you're mentality is good, it is actually never over, but I prefer this Ogre (Health) and Hydra (Asthma) as 'frozen' once I accomplish these types of goals. Any wrong moves or bad habits and they live to rule once again! But they're going to stay frozen so as Kamb puts it, I can find another beast to slay... (he said Dragon specifically, but for my world, there are many beasts, and the Dragon revolves around my Career...)

p.s. In combination with strengthening & making more good habits + @skinnyLara's habit of noting down positive stuff everyday + HabitRPG, I feel more positive that I'll be okay in maintenance land! :-)

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! He's back....he's back.....He's back!!!! :triumphant: :triumphant: :triumphant:

Bravo!

graphics-johnny-bravo-750528.gif

2.4 lbs left now and it's so close I can smell it! Have you decided how you will celebrate your goal? Because you should seriously think about it since this the final countdown!

Haha Guzzi just asked me about it long ago! Originally I intended for the whole Fort William event to mark this occasion, but I had to cancel that out due to all the recent SL finances + keeping sisters in check :-(, really REALLY gutted about this!

I don't think I'll be planning anything tbh :-/ I won't be celebrating with anyone around here, as they'd find it weird to + they're usually busy. I'm thinking that I might cook something special, and hopefully spend as much of the day I can on NF writing the post (here + woot thread!) and celebrating + being happy amongst you awesome rebels for getting me here! :-D (I wouldn't want it any other way)

I'm not sure about this part, but I originally intended to actually move on from the adventurers and choose a class! Thing is, I feel sad to! Even though I could still totally catch up with you all just the same, I feel like an adventurer is my true home. I've always been a nomad, so what would I be? An assassin? A warrior? A monk? Maybe a Druid? I'm thinking I should at least be an adventurer for the rest of this year maybe... I know, I have to grow up, but I'm hoping I can actually help a lot of my spare NF time on the you amazing people + Level 1's + Adventurers, I feel like I'd be more NF qualified and actually give some sound advice! xD

Maybe I should open up my own guild? That'd be GREEEAT! It'd be all about productivity, turning yourself into an android (that's NOT run by Google *sickburn!*) and MUSHROOM FUNGUS!!!1"

But yeah, to answer you're question (properly), my celebratory day is likely going to be taking a nice, reflective walk in the park, spending the day on NF and cooking something cool for myself.

But first, I've gotta get there, right? You never know, the last 2.4lbs could take 3 months to burn! xD *touches wood* :-I

p.s. I did promise @AshPS I'd bellydance again, so there's that... xD belly_dancer-1118.gif

I know how you feel with the guilds, took me a while to find a fit, I thought I was a scout for one challenge and then worked out I was a ranger, good luck with the decision, no reason you can't stick with Adventurers :)

Okay, these are how the past 4 days have been:

Challenge 1:

Defeated a bunch of Stormtroopers, and also the Stormtrooper Commander, that was a hard one, but I must make haste with the others!

Challenge 2:

Going really well! I've done 2 jogs so far, and 3x EXErcise sessions, one normal, one light (w/ a resistance band) and today I did the KONAMI CODE workout! Was a ton of fun! :-) I've also doing short burst exercises during pomodoro work breaks (I was inspired by Steves recent holiday post) and opportunity to do some squats/reverse crunches/push-ups/pull-ups is really great!

Challenge 3:

Great! Had a Standard Fast Day for Monday, No Fast Day Tuesday, 24hr Fast Wednesday, Lite Fast Thursday!

Smile Please!:

I forgot to add/announce this section prior! This has gone through MANY name changes, but it's basically to note at least one positive thing for that day (inspired by @skinnyLara :-D) I now store these in my evernote and ensure that HabitRPG reminds me to do before bed... (talking about HabitRPG, jeez, how have I lived this long without it? xD)

Mon: For better planning and approach with fear/perfectionism/courage

Tue: For really feeling stronger these days. Also, less time gone towards

Wed: Happy that I had time to revise, refine and clean up my Evernote account. Really helped feel like I had my priorities organised.

Thu: and the last one...

1x PULL-UP ACHIEVED!!!!1

Day's finally come my friends! Many of you know that I thought I accomplished this many months ago, but I confused it with a chin-up. Ever since I did @Hazard's challenge, I've been practising here and there, then when I got close, I couldn't quite reach the top of the bar. Then, a couple of weeks ago, I felt like I could do it, but the form was wonky. Today I managed to do it properly (the move does really take it out of me though). I can also do 6x chin-ups in a row! :-)

Today's a long time in the making for many reasons! Thanks for sticking it out with me everyone! And @Deftona with the encouragement way early on that I could do it! :-)

p.s. Cause I need to share my awful taste to what music is in my head these days! :-p Have no clue what on earth she's talkin' about in this song, but tune's stuck in my head! Tried listening to @Teros's awesome "Bacon and Pancakes Mix" but darn it doesn't work! :-(

p.p.s. With my music taste lately, I'm starting to think if I'm only a man on the outside, and an angst teenage girl stuck in the 90s on the inside... xD
