Well done, Rebels.  You have completed your first 6 week challenge. From here you will be moving to your various guilds and going forward with your challenges.

We'd love to know how you all did (outstanding, good or bad - we don't judge). So please either copy and paste your final wrap up for your challenge here (with a link to your challenge) or just a link to your challenge.

Don't forget you also have another 5 points that you can allocate now that the challenge is over.

My challenge

Well this is my wrap up   and a link to my challenge:-

Well 6 weeks is up .. how did I do

A - Full body workout - every other day

B - Full body workout - 3 days a week

C - Full body workout - 2 days a week

Yay - I managed an B+ for this .... I missed a couple of workouts half way through when I prioritized decorating the garage to turn it into a gym - but the end result is I now have a dedicated workout time and place at 5am every morning Mon - Sat

Quest 2: Cardio: 3 mile walk each work day lunch time to the shop and back

A - 5 days a week

B - 3-4 days a week

C - 1-2 days a week

Again I rocked this easily I only missed 1 walk as it was torrential rain and I didnt want to get wet at work .... but I made up for that by increasing my weekend activity and forcing the family to go for a walk every sunday .. AND started using an indoor rower 3 times a week

Quest 3 - Diet: I am addicted to Coke and drink far too much of it (although recently its diet coke its potentially still bad for me) so it has to go I want to reduce the amount of coke I drink to 6 cans or less a week

         A - 0-6 cans a week

         B - 7-9 cans a week

         C - 10-14 cans a week

         In six weeks I drunk 1.5ltrs of Coke ... and all of them on my birthday as a treat so I aced that one

Side Quest: I really want to be SSCP certified, so need to stop being lazy and start reading and learning

        A - 1 chapter a week

        B - 1 chapter every 2 weeks

        C - 1 chapter every 3 weeks

        Ah ... I totally totally failed this quest ... I did NOTHING ..... after spending all day at work, I just couldnt bring myself to read about it at home .... for the next challenge I will have to work out how to fit this in ... hmmmmmmmm

Over all an interesting 6 weeks ... I made a mistake of joining this quest .. I discovered NF 2 days before the quest and jumped into it without realising what I really wanted ..... I have changed my workout mid quest, changed my approach, so its all been a bit of a mess ... I still achieved but my goals changed

Annoyingly I was loosing 2lbs a week for the past 2 months ...... the second my garage was finished and I started a far mor intensive workout with weights and HIIT cardio work, I stopped loosing weight, despite my diet being the same ... and have put on 2lbs in the last 2 weeks

now the internet says, dont worry this happens with working out, its water retention .... but dammed if it isnt demotivating feeling weak from calorie deficit, aching from working out, hungry AND putting on weight.

I have now started measuring instead of weighing .... if I dont see results I will be cross !

Yeah seeing lbs on the scale is super demotivating. Other than water retention (which normally fades after the first few days), you're building muscle.  It's easier to build muscle than to lose fat in the beginning and the same size of muscle weighs almost 3 times as much as fat. So you could just be losing fat at a slower rate than gaining muscle. Measuring your inch loss will show you a much better picture of the actual loss.

Here's an example of the fat, muscle ratio:

Ok guys and gals, Update time!

Main goal: 85kg towards the end of the year:

Well, my scale is broken, so I don't know how much I weight right now, but the last time I weighed, I was around 84,5kg.

This means I've reached my main goal 2 months ahead of time. Kinda unexpected :D

Quest 1: The bodyweight workout: Did it, except for 1 day of illness, and this last week I started Stronglifts 5x5. So I do count that as completed.

That's +3STR +1STA for me!

Quest 2: Running: Did it except the last 2 weeks, because I read on stronglifts running isn't that necessary. I might pick it up again, but I'll focus on the weights first, when I can recover well from squats and deadlifts. So I give myself a C, +1STA!

Quest 3: Now this is a tricky one: did I eat all paleo? Nein. I do eat quite a lot of peas/green beans and yoghurt, and sometimes something unhealthy.

But then again, I did lose A LOT of weight (around 8kg in 6 weeks). But since my quest stated paleo, and it wasn't full paleo, but around 1/2paleo, I'll give myself a C with the +1CON.

Life quest:  A): My gf isn't on the train, problem is she absolutely dislikes the paleo stuff. Chicken/turkey is the only meat she eats. No pork. No beef. No fish.

B) Family: Haven't really talked about it ith family, except my mom. She thinks it's weird (but don't you have to eat potatoes/pasta/.. No mom, you really don't), but she sees the results and I did get her thinking. C) Friends: they basically don't give a shit about what I'm doing, but none of them are really obese, so that's not a surprise. They do notice my weight loss, but haven't really asked me how.

All in all zero points for the life quest.

Oh yeah, I also reached the 3 week milestone so I need to give some attributes there as well, how did I do that again? :D

Conclusion: I am semi satisfied. Although I should really be satisfied. I lost a lot of weight. I bought new pants, and I bought them a bit too small as to motivate me to lose even more weight (still around 10kg to go!)

But I don't truly eat paleo. I should say no to unhealthy meals more often.  I simply dislike running, so I quit doing that.

My next challenge will likely be in the warrior guild, since I started with stronglifts.

What do you guys suggest? Let me leech your knowledge and wisdom!

Hey folks!

I was really happy how this challenge went.  The format is great for keeping yourself accountable and I cant recall if I've stuck to a plan for 6-weeks consistently before.

I'll be tossing my final pictures and measurements up on my challenge thread tonight.  Good job everybody!

Well, here it is.  The official wrap up...

Goal:  Fit into a size 34 by the end of the year

UPDATE:  I'm down from a 38 to a 36.  I am halfway there!!

Side quest 1:  I have trouble with junk food, so do not indulge in junk food during the challenge at all.

A = 0 days  B = 3 days  C = 6 days

A = 3CON  B= 2CON  C = 1CON

UPDATE:  I have not indulged in junk food of any kind (salty, sweet, soda), so this gets an A!!

Side Quest 2:  At the end of the challenge, I'm going to see my girlfriend in Vegas, and I want to look good naked.  So, weight train 4 days/week (body weight workout at first, and then move into the gym as I progress)

A = 24 days  B = 20 days C = 17 days

A = 4STR  B = 3STR  C = 1STR

UPDATE:  I missed a couple of days here and there, I hit 21 days working out.  I'm giving myself a B+.  BTW, the visit was this past weekend, and we had a nice, relaxing time.

Side Quest 3: Eat a fruit or veggie

Side Quest 3:  Learn to love veggies.  Its that simple.  I grew up in a meat and potatoes house, where the potatoes were mashed and coated in butter and gravy (or, meat juice, if you prefer).  So, I will cook with a new veggie each week.  Week one will be the hardest, I think.  That's going to be "Learn to love Kale" week....

A = 6 new veggies  B = 5 new veggies  C = 4 new Veggies

A = 3CON 3CHA 2WIS  B= 2CON 2CHA 1WIS C= 1CON 1CHA

UPDATE:  I definitely learned to love veggies.  I would say that my veggie intake is probably close to 60% of my calories now!  This is a solid A!

Veggies tried and eaten this challenge:  Kale, Brussel Sprouts, Sweet Potatoes, Squash, Cauliflower, Brocoli.  And, I still work them all into my recipes.  In fact, Saturday, I made Sweet Potato hash for Adelrune, who had never tried sweet potatoes before.  SUCCESS!

All in, I'm calling this challenge an A.  Did I miss some workouts?  Sure.  Did I drastically change my habits and begin turning my life around?  You bet!  I need to go back and find where I allocated my stats at the halfway point so I can add in my 5 points.  Watch for before/mid/after pics in my soon to exist battle log, and for all my stats in my signature!

My wrap up is in my challenge thread with pretty pictures. The highlights are the I aced all my quests, dropped 9.4 lbs, 2 inches from my waist and hips and about 4.8% body fat. I'm feeling pretty darn good and excited to move to the assassins for my next challenge. Having the forums has really made my quest for improved health and fitness so much easier and more enjoyable!

Okay, I'm done, and did an overall analysis over at my challenge thread.

Thank you everyone for the fantastic support as we all worked through this together, and here's looking toward the next challenge!

Special thanks to Blaidd for guiding us, and to Lalie, amberdisa, Teirin, Terinatum, KingLeeroy, and all the others who stopped by my thread over the past six weeks to cheer me on. I know we're all splitting up now, but thankfully there's no rule that says we can't cross-post to keep helping one another out.

Best of luck to everyone as they move on to their guilds!

I've got my end report over on my challenge thread.

So, six weeks later I've lost a total of 22" measured from my limbs, torso, neck, yadda yadda. I've lost 5.5" off of my stomach alone, and another 3" off my waist and 4" off my hips. I've also gone down 6.8% body fat. I've successfully passed my road test and now can legally drive (Hooray!) As for my life quest? My Rheumatoid Arthritis is going into remission and my doctors are now tapering me off my medication.

Yep. That's a pretty big deal and I'm sort of shocked still. NOW TO KEEP GOING.

Anyway, thank you everyone for being so supportive over the past 6 weeks and thank you, Blaidd, for being an awesome guild leader!

My goals were to:

* Playground/beginner's bodyweight workout 3/week at local park - 3 circuits. (working especially toward proper pull-ups)

* Run/walk 2/ week around the other park's 5K course, cutting down on allowable walk breaks each time.

* 1 big serving of leafy greens 1/day.

Bonus INT quest: Keep up with Japanese study via Anki and at least 10 new kanji/week,

Weeks 1-3 Summary:

* BW3: A, C, C = 73% B

* 5K2: A, A, C = 87% A-

* Greens: A, A, A = 100% A

* Kanji: A, A, A = 100% A

Weeks 4-6 Summary:

* BW3: A, C, A  = 87% A-

* 5K2: A, A, A = 100% A

* Greens: A, B, A = 94% A

* Kanji:  A, F, A =  66% = C+

Final Grades:

BW Average: 80%

Run 5K Average: 93.5%

Greens: 97%

Kanji: 83%

Point Allocation:

* Bodyweight 3x/week: +2 STR, +1 CON  (x .8) = 1.6 STR, .8 CON

* Run 5K 2x/week: +2 STA, +1 DEX (x.935) = 1.87STA, .935 DEX

* Greens 1x/day: +2 CON(x.97) = 1.94 CON

* 10 Kanji/week: +2 WIS (x.83) = 1.66 WIS

I feel I did well, and while I didn't take pictures or measurements since last December (boo on lack of planning), Some of my clothes are looser, I'm sleeping better, have less urgent and less frequent sugar cravings, eat less, and actually get impatient having to wait to go running! I need to tart up my battle log a bit - SheHulk really raised the bar there, and I'd like to emphasize some of my big goals, that maybe won't be immediately obvious.

Wrapping up.....

Main Quest: to remain fit and strong during a year when adding an intense course of study to my already busy work and family life is going to make things hectic and stressful at times; to be able to come out the other side next May without having regained the weight I've lost over the last two years, or fall out of the fitnesss habit. Yeah. Oh yeah. After these six weeks I am leaner, faster, stronger and more flexible and agile.

Quest 1: to do (variations on) the beginners' bodyweight workout 3-4 times a week. Yep. Variations being the keyword. I've not always had time to do a lot, but I've kept doing something. I'll give myself an A there. I've also been learnig about good form, so +WIS

Quest 2: to do one HIIT session each week. More or less. I've done at least one speed-focused session, mostly intervals, every week. Not exactly HIIT by the book though. a B for me.

Quest 3: to eat 'paleo' (I have my doubts about the wisdom of the tag, but still) from Sunday evening to Saturday morning. I am not including in my definition of 'paleo' either pulses or cheese. I am including all forms of alcohol. I'm in two minds about dark chocolate. I had, that I can remember, at least five or six lapses- lunch with colleagues, beers on a Friday night (cos I'm studying Saturdays and Sundays), not being able to resist my wife's cooking. But on the whole I think it's a pass. I think in future I'll focus more on the controlables- i.e, when I'm deciding what I'm eating, when will-power reserves are likely to be sufficient and accept that there will be moments when you can't stick to your best intentions. a C and another +1 WIS. Oh yeah, and I'm down to a 32-inch waist and 85.4 kilos, from a 34 and 88.9kg

It's been excellent doing this, and I'll be signing up for the next one- maybe with the scouts as I have a 10k in seven weeks, so that's about right. The thing is, I think my goals are going to stay the same- Running x3 or 4, including one long and one fast; keep working on the bodyweight exercises; keep eating paleo-ish. So maybe the adventurers, I don't know.

My thred is linked to in my signature. I did two mini-challenges (the reach out to people one and the signature one). How many points should I be allocating myself? I just realised I only allocated 9 at the halfway point. (MATHS FAIL!)

Okay, I'm confused. I divided ten points among my four goals, and got most of them. They are in my Sig line. Ditto the bonus points from mini challenges. Is there another five points that we get for finishing?

If so, half is going into Charisma, because I feel gorgeous. I think exercise makes you prettier. Plus, new clothes because pants too big! Yay!

Yes, you get another 5 points for finishing the challenge for a total of 15 plus points from whatever mini's you did.

Overall, I am very pleased with the progress I've made in my first challenge.  Despite the fact that I lost my grandfather in the middle of it and struggled with insomnia, I kept going until the end of the 6 weeks and made some great improvements.

1. When I began the challenge, I was jogging for 90 seconds at a time.  Now, I'm jogging for 8 minutes at a time.

2. I went from being able to do 9 pushups in one set and then quitting to doing a max of 12 in a set and adding two more sets after that with fewer reps.

3. I've practiced assisted pull-ups and negatives so that I'm closer to being able to do my first pull-up than when I started.

4. I'm getting more vegetables in me than I have in decades.

5. I've gone from 20% body fat to 18% body fat.

Aw I'm soooo glad to see that the RA is tapering.  That's the best news ever!!  Well done on the inch loss too.

It's ok if your goals stay the same for next challenge, that really has no bearing on where you want to go.  if it's Scouts then go there, if it's Adventurers then go there.  Wherever you go, go with happiness :D

Also yeah at the end of first challenge you get an additional 5 points (6 in your case) to allocate (on top of the 10 your received mid way).

Did a screenname change in honor of becoming an assassin. I also just realized I only did 4 points instead of 5, so I need to go back and fix my math.

Overall I couldnt be happier with where NF has helped me get to these last six weeks. I may have done all the work but NF definitely gave me all the fun and I am so grateful for joining the community! I continue to work on my quests in the interim, going to update my battle log for that.
