Wufkar Goes Steady.. -ish

Rokie doke.

 

Last challenge was crazy on multiple levels. This time, it's time to get back into it like a real person, or less like a crazy one? We'll see.

 

Goals:

 

  • Lift regularly and on a program

I haven't really lifted consistently for the last month. Something something -travelling around like crazy- something something. I'm going to start a program and actually stick to it. I need the consistency and the focus. I also need to figure out said program. It's probably going to revolve around doing things I don't like. (Read: lunges, hammie work, abs)

 

  • Calorie Maintenance

I don't have a dress to fit into, so I'm going to eat more towards maintenance and getting stronger. 

 

  • Home life

My apartment is a bit chaotic right now, take my word on that. I need to get it in line so it matches my head which is now much more organized than it was before.

 

 

Things coming up this challenge to contend with:

  • Work Training 11/14-11/17
  • Travel to Florida 12/6-12/21
  • Ruck with Wildross 12/20 for his 55th birthing day

At some point up there I need to fit in two swing dancing classes too, cus I already paid for them.

 

Relatively light for a Wuf-challenge. I can promise brain dumps, and I'm sure someone will provide gifs. Let's do this :)

As you learned at trapeze class, one of the fastest ways to make your abs want to depart from your body is hanging inversions. Just sayin'. ;)

They have yet to want to reattach. Something about I did stomach vacuums and leg raises too. We're going through a rough patch in our relationship right now.

No gym yesterday or today. Yesterday I was absolutely exhausted. I haven't had much of an appetite lately and with training and regular work load my mind was just fried.

Today was going to be a gym day but getting the thermostat replaced on the car took longer than I expected. I did make use of the 5 mile round trip to the mechanic with a 25# plate.

Nesting things completed today:

-fixed my bike

-hung curtains

-hung canvas paintings from Christ artist

-grocery shopping

-some organizing

Tomorrow a friend is coming over to help me mount my TV.

The nesting stuff may not seem like that big of a deal, but its the first time I've really hung anything in my walls with intent vs just to take it out of a box. That includes any apartment I've ever had, not just Texas.

Rokie dokes. Since it's challenge day 1, here's the plan to follow.

 

Volume based, focusing on weaknesses so I gets stronk like bull.

 

Monday:

  • Volume Front Squats
  • Overhead Press Volume 

Wednesday

  • Volume Deadlifts
  • Accessory Front Squats (light weight, lower volume)
  • Vertical Rows (high pulls etc)

Friday

  • Clean/Snatch Medley
  • Triceps/Biceps/Shoulder Accessory

 

Saturday

  • Bench Press
  • HIIT circuit

 

Core work M/W/F in the form of leg raises, flutter kicks and hollow body holds.  This should help address my Hammies, Lower back, and core. Back Squats are not in this program because my legs can handle more than my lower back right now. All of this really does track back into my ankle injuries and are my major imbalances. In other news, I may well need new pants in a few months. again.

Nov 10, 2014 Workout Log Day 1

Both racks were taken on arrival so I kind of did Fridays instead of today

Hang power clean

Front squats Rack opened up at the last minute. Not quite the volume I was intending but after cleans this was huffy.

Total: #10,180

Notes: really tried to focus on hip contact with the cleans. I have a tendency to muscle the bar in an arc instead of use my hips. Towards the end it really started clicking and despite fatigue the weight seemed lighter.

Food: steak fajitas with chammy. Still don't really have much of an appetite. We'll see how it goes in a few more days.
