Alright! Challenge 8 here we come!!  :) Who else is ready??

 

This is my 8th challenge. Ugh. I feel like I have made progress within myself but not near as much progress on the outside as I would like. I have recently joined the YMCA and I LOVE LOVE LOVE having a gym to go to and all that equipment to use, and group classes, and the pool, especially the hot tub!! ;) Anyway, I have decided on a long term goal... I want to be at my goal of 135-ish and fit/healthy by the time I go back to work after the summer. I think this is totally attainable, but I have to really buckle down on my eating!

To hit my goal range of 125-135 and do it in a healthy way!

So, here is the current workout I am doing with my middle son, D, 3 days a week:

(along with weights and reps for my workout I did Monday.)

 

[When I write the weight, it is for ONE dumbbell, even though I am holding 2, and I do 2 sets of each exercise]

 

Dumbbell push press: 15 lbs: 10, 8

Dumbbell bent over rows: 15 lbs: 10, 8

Dumbbell squats: 20 lbs: 12, 12

Alternating bicep curls: 15 lbs: 8, 8

Triceps extention: 15 lbs: 10, 10

Dumbbell deadlifts: 20 lbs: 12, 10

Heel raises: 20 lbs: 12, 10

Pushups (kneeling): 10, 8

Crunches: 20, 20

Floor bridges: 12, 12

Planks: 30 sec, 40 sec.

 

1/2 mile walk before workout

1/2 mile walk after workout

 

I will be adding in the lat pull down machine on my next workout. I will be working up to the pull-up machine also.

Oh noes, your new photos aren't showing up for me. :(  Man I wish I was brave enough to post photos like that.  Maybe by the end of this challenge.  

 

Good job on tracking your numbers at the gym, best way to level up!  With the lat pulldown machine, I recommend pulling the bar down in front of your face as opposed to behind your head - it's a bit safer for your shoulders. :)

CRAP!!! I don't know why the photos aren't showing up!! I will try to fix it! :) 

 

Yesterday was my middle son's 20th birthday! We got him Settlers of Catan for his birthday present, which we played last night!! Awesome game!!! 

We took him (and X of course lol) out to dinner tonight. He wanted to go to the Chinese buffet. I had ONE plate of stuff, and nothing with gluten... and half my plate was veggies!! And of course only water to drink, since I don't drink pop anymore! (Yes, I still crave it EVERY DAY!!)

 

Today is my 22nd wedding anniversary. My husband and I are celebrating tomorrow. We will be going out to dinner at Sweet Tomatoes, which is like a salad buffet with great gluten free options, and we will also hit Starbucks to do some studying for his last RT test. 

 

I have decided to try to learn to draw again... I have visited drawing several times in the past... I LOVE coloring lol but I really want to be able to draw my own stuff eventually. I am a certified Copic Marker instructor, so I have several Copic markers and I want to draw my own stuff, probably manga more than anything, to use with my Copics. Tonight I bought a set of Copic inkers (had a 50% off coupon so the set was only $10!! Yay!) and tomorrow I am using a 60% off coupon to buy a sketch pad! If I actually come up with anything worth posting I will post it! ;)

 

Haven't worked out since Monday because I have been sick sick sick and am trying to get well. I am pretty sure I have a sinus infection. YUCK! I am going to go try to work out in the morning and hit the pool and hot tub before our anniversary adventures!!

Got my sketch pad yesterday! I've not drawn anything yet, but I will!!

 

Worked out yesterday! Yay!!! Was still pretty sick, but just did it anyway!

 

Here was my workout:

Crunches: (actually did the thing where you sit up and hold a medicine ball and rotate side to side...): 20, 20

Planks: 10 sec, 15 sec. - did I mention I was SICK?? lol

I am off work tomorrow and Tuesday, and I am so glad!! I will have time to get some laundry and other cleaning done, but also rest some more so I can try to get over this sickness!!

Had the day off today from work, because it was a professional development day for the teacher's and the para's don't go to those, so yay day off! However, I feel like I wasted a lot of the day lol I did take time to catalog my Copic markers. I have 43 Copic markers(the majority are Sketch with a couple regular Copics thrown in from my certification kit). There are 358 Sketch markers and I want them ALL! lol The bad part is they are around $6.00 EACH. The good part is that you can refill them, the refills are only $6.00 each and refill the marker 8-10 times. 

 

Anyway, my day off... the marker thing and cooking dinner was about as much as I have gotten done today so far, and it is almost 8:30 pm. I did go the gym!

Lost a lb! Woot! That's what I need to see... but even more, I am already starting to see my shape change since we started working out! That is AWESOME! My husband even commented on it, saying I was looking slimmer in the waist! YES!! 

 

So... I have accomplished a big lot of nothing these 2 days that I have been off! Last night I didn't get to sleep until 1 am, because I was drawing and then watching YouTube videos. Got up at 7 am to help hubs go get tires for his car so he can stop riding his bike, since it is COLD here now. When we got back around 10:30, I went back to bed... until 2 pm!! WTF!? I still had to DRAG my butt out of bed with the promise of coffee and breakfast... yes, breakfast at 2 pm! 

 

Anyway, I am up now and still have to do all the laundry and clean the kitchen and cook food for dinner tonight. I had these grand plans of cooking a lot today for the next few days, and getting up early and getting the laundry all done. Uh huh... didn't happen, but we have no plans tonight, so once I start laundry, I can just keep going until it is finished and I will still cook dinner tonight, and might go ahead and cook for tomorrow night too. (I hate cooking on gym nights!! It's so late when we get home!)

I had no idea about pencils and soft/hardness until I took a course way long time ago.  It's quite remarkable what a difference it make though.  I've never art-y (drawing, painting, etc) -  more a "crafty" person.

Got up at 7 am to help hubs go get tires for his car so he can stop riding his bike, since it is COLD here now. When we got back around 10:30, I went back to bed... until 2 pm!! WTF!? I still had to DRAG my butt out of bed with the promise of coffee and breakfast... yes, breakfast at 2 pm! 

 

Anyway, I am up now and still have to do all the laundry and clean the kitchen and cook food for dinner tonight. I had these grand plans of cooking a lot today for the next few days, and getting up early and getting the laundry all done. Uh huh... didn't happen, but we have no plans tonight, so once I start laundry, I can just keep going until it is finished and I will still cook dinner tonight, and might go ahead and cook for tomorrow night too. (I hate cooking on gym nights!! It's so late when we get home!)

Mmmmm, it does feel good when the significant other makes mention of the changes! And just stop being so busy and get to bed :P

I realized I hadn't measured in a year... can that be right!?? Anyway, added current measurements to the first post... it's not as bad as it could be since I did gain a bit of weight back, but at least I have a new starting point!

My daughter, Becca, loves anime, and draws a lot of eyes.  LoL  She's actually pretty darn amazing at it, and she spends a lot of time drawing.  She wants a scanner so she can upload pics to the deviant art website.

 

I love manga and anime, so that is what I decided to start with, since I am so drawn to it! I just started a new DA page, so I plan to do the same! :)

 

I had no idea about pencils and soft/hardness until I took a course way long time ago.  It's quite remarkable what a difference it make though.  I've never art-y (drawing, painting, etc) -  more a "crafty" person.  

 

Mmmmm, it does feel good when the significant other makes mention of the changes! And just stop being so busy and get to bed :tongue:

 

I also am more of a crafty person, besides photography, but I have always WANTED to be an artist... so I figure the more I practice the better I will get! :)

Omg!! I'm so flipping tired!! I went to bed at a decent time and went back to sleep after hubs left for work at 5:30 this morning but I'm just exhausted!! Hopefully I'll wake up while at work and not need a nap before the gym tonight! (I get off at 3:30 but we wait for X to get out of wrestling practice at 5 to go to the gym, so I COULD take a nap if needed).
