Bard
A faint noise, soft light;remnants of dream forgotten.blanket of green grass. I open my eyes,Where have I been? For how long?A baby bird chirps. Time to get back home,Time for a new beginning,Beautiful rainbow! Yes I've been away these last few challenges, a few personal things, moving house (out of a capital city to a smaller town!) and suddenly losing a big part of my employment... But now we're getting comfortable in the new house and it's time to get disciplined again! Major goal:- Get back to doing at least 4 days of exercise (of at least half hour duration) per week. This is my longer term goal as firstly I need to get my gym setup, and particularly I need to get disciplined to get up and exercise before everyone else gets up on days when I don't have work. Previously when I've worked out 4-5 days a week, it's been first thing, before heading off to work. Now I'm not working full time, and the days I am working, I'm up REALLY early, I need to get into the habit of working out on my days off, and realistically this could take a few months to get right, but I want to get it right, not do it next week and then give up. Milestones:- Setup the gym - fairly straight forward, although this will involve setting up the whole of the new garage, which is currently full of pretty much everything which we haven't otherwise setup around the house, so a decent bit of work to do here! STR +4 - Average two runs a week - no excuses here, no equipment needed (yes my runners are unpacked!), STA + 4 - Do at least one family exercise a week - whether it's playing soccer with the girls in the backyard, or taking them to play in the playground (and not just sitting down watching but joining in) at the park, or going for a big family walk. Since where we are, we pretty much have to go for a decent walk to get to the shops and back we've been doing that at least, but I want to get into the habit of doing something family exercise oriented regularly. CHR +3 Side quest:- Write an Android app - I've been meaning to do this for ages, and now that I'm not working a couple of days a week, it's a way to get back to using my higher level IT skills, and potentially a way of bringing in a very small amount of extra cash. WIS +4 Starting stats: Starting stats: Str, 9Sta 13, Wis, Chr 14Dex 5, Con 15 (at least that's what I found from the start of the year!) Haiku to finish:(The rest was also haikuyou must just count funny, wink) Feelnig at home here,Challenge faced with familySit on fresh cut grass. 1 Quote Link to post

And looking forward to seeing what you do for an Android app. I'm learning iOS skills and want to do some Android as well.Looks like a great challenge plan! Quote All men dream, but not equally. Xena
One of my favorite threads a couple challenges back, QuirkyDM convinced his kids that it was fun to find heavy logs and run around carrying them. They made up their own little obstacle course. All kinds of cool family fitness stuff around the boards Quote Xena, Level 14+ Valkyrie Ranger January 2017 December 2016 Oct/Nov 2016 Link to post

Bard
Ran this morning, yay!I really am out of shape:All my leaves fall off. Ran 1.6km with the puppy - old puppy though, she's a 10 year old Labrador but starting to slow down and she wanted to go home after that, so I dropper her off and kept going on my own for another 2.5 km, but I had to drop to a walk by the end, I haven't had to do that in a while - shows what having three months off does to you, I was always very amateur, but I wonder then how olympians who are sidelined for a few months get back into it! I'm even a bit stiff after my gym workout yesterday and I have to confess - I only used the bar with no weights! I wanted to get back into it slowly and safely. Very happy I have things setup now though and can hopefully bully myself into keeping it up. Ok, now I've blurted that out, it's back to haiku! Stiff and sore I am,but the blowing wind yields not:Onward to greatness! 1 Quote Link to post
