I was supposed to start this challenge with excitement and strength and good news. Instead my heart has been broken again. I’ve lost another baby and am feeling utterly defeated. As well as this Next year hold much uncertainty about my job. I will still have a job but where and doing what is out of my hands and in those of upper management because of huge structural changes going on. So I’ve come to the druids for nourishment and recuperation.

 

Motivation: My daughter. Always my daughter. To be a good role model for her and be able to give her an awesome childhood.

 

Goal: to increase my energy and decrease my migraines. To find joy in my body again (vague I know but I can’t put my finger on it more than that)

 

Quest one: Read Gods word. Every day. No exception. Write down what he is telling me.

I feel most alive when I am with Him. I feel connected, loved and whole. I need to work on this connection so much. I have a diary by my bed I can write in all ready and the bible on my phone so no excuses.

 

Quest two: write a meal plan and stick to it.

I do this but I don’t stick to it and eat out way too much (I’ve been using a budget app recently that has highlighted this to me). At the moment the quality of food I have isn’t the focus but making a plan and sticking to it.  Better food can come later.

 

Quest three: Move every day.

I love yoga with adriene. It’s getting hot here in Australia and I’m very pale and there are snakes around here so going outside won’t always be an option but a 20min yoga video is doable. Bonus for getting my daughter in on it with me.

 

Quest four: work towards getting my landscaping finished

THREE DAMN YEARS!! We got ripped off and money stolen from us a few years ago and then we had a baby so no money anymore! I need to find the steps to do this

  1. Order more dirt, fill in in retaining wall
  2. Another layer of stones
  3. Front retaining wall
  4. Fill in with dirt
  5. Set up vege patch
  6. Set up chicken run

If I can get 1 and 2 done I’ll be so happy.

 

Quest five: do something fun with Wilhelmina every week.

 

I do full time shift work as a nurse and am not always a very fun mum. I am tired or need to get the housework done (my awesome husband tries but he isn’t very organised). I need to take the time to focus solely on her and I at least once a week. Go out, do something, enjoy it.

 

I know this seems like a lot but they are tiny goals really. Things I already do but not with any focus.

Let me also say that I am very sorry for your loss.

You have come to the right place for nourishment and recuperation.

 

Congratulations on a wellstructured and achievable challenge, I really like it. Your motivation is solid and your goal doesn't have to be more clear than it is. How will you grade your successes?

Thank Taijibum  and I am eve. It sucks but I am trying to remember that life continues despite. So I should too.

I always forget about grading! I'll have to figure it out and  edit :P

 

Day one for me. It's the 10th here in Australia and I've done my yoga. :) nice and refreshing, especially when Billie tires to 'help'. She's nearly 2 and just hilarious.

I'm pleased to read that you will be putting forth focus into these things you already do.

Been super busy at work so haven't worked out may grading yet. Hopefully today.

 

Day 3 here. So far so good. read the bible last night (with a toddler on my head), stuck to the meal plan (with the help of gorgeous husband who actually cooked!!!), got my yoga on!

Some unexpected money has come to me too so we can get some of the dirt this week :) monday woooo!! I was going to go see the maya the bee movie today but its only on over the weekend when i work so i have to think of soemthing to do the next 2 days. ideas? maybe the zoo but its going to be very hot!

Billie has started joining me for yoga but it mostly involves her trying to see how high she can climb me while I'm doing it. I love it. It's reminding me to enjoy the experience instead of have it as a chore. I'm also sticking to the plan so super pleased with myself there. We caught up with a good friend and his fiance yesterday which Billie loved. She is such a sociable child which is bizarre as my husband and I are quite shy.

I've written next week meal plan as well. Time to order the groceries :D Nothing makes me happier then having my shopping delivered. We live quite close to farms so the veg is delivered, then i get the supermarket delivery for canned stuff and milk, then I get the free range butcher to deliver our meat. So much easier with a toddler!

I'm sick :( stupid spring weather changes! Wasn't up to yoga yesterday but i might try some gentle yoga for when you are unwell (NO DOWNWARD DOG FOR ME :P ) Also giant freakin spider in my house yesterday. Every time I think I'm over my fear of spiders one has to jump out at me and prove I'm wrong.

I've started to clear things out. Declutter my life. clearing out emails and unsubscribing from crap. Clearing liked pages and 'friends' from fb. I feel like I'm making room to breathe.

I hate spiders.  My theory is - if it needs more than four legs to get around…it CANNOT be trusted.  ;)

I used to have a massive scare of spiders.  At some point I got over it by catching them with a glass, shoving a paper under the glass & throwing them outside.  the time observing them in the glass before tossing them outside , kinda got me over my scare.  ( it's not like I would enjoy one to crawl over my hand or something , but the initial shock has subsided from 'freaking completing out', to 'adreneline -> fetch glass & catch the sucker)

 

I have no reference point about the size of Australian spiders offcourse.

Nope. spiders must die. or else they know you're weak and take over the house. ha ha there is only one type of spider im not afraid of and would even let it crawl on me.

Anyways been sick all weekend. But i did a healing yoga sequence today. :) feeling a little refreshed.

those ones with the tiny body and long legs that are almost clear. we call them daddy long legs. for some reason i don't mind them and will let them live happily in my house.

YARD WORK!! Had a load of dirt delivered. Billie loved it 'dig dig mummy!' ha ha ha then my gorgeous parents took her for a few hours so we could get stuck into it. phew worn out though!

woooo! Been busy ACHIEVING MY GOALS ha ha

Completed step one of the yard!!! All the dirt is in and the retaining walls are filled. Next step poison the weeds, pick out some plants and dig out the old drains and replace them. then i can get the stones delivered!!!

Been doing little bits of yoga but the yard work has been taking up a big chunk of my day. I am so exstatically happy about this. :D Giving myself a deadline has really worked!
