Breakthrough Navigates Turkey

I'm hoping to actually pass my challenge this time. It seems kinda quiet everywhere this round. I'll still try to post at least once a week even if it's just us. :)

Breakthrough of the week: While I'm trying to put on weight, my dear hubby has about 50 lbs to lose. He spends most of the day at the computer. He says he wants to start jogging again but never gets around to it with everything else going on. I've been doing challenges for about 6 months now and finally he said he'll start working out with me. Last night was our first session.  I'm hoping we can both stick with this and keep eating well. I'm just so excited he finally said yes.

Two really awesome breakthroughs happened for me this week.

On Friday I went to a dance when I really don't dance. I am so glad that I went. It was so much fun! All the dances were cowboy themed and ninety percent of the other dancers were the same skill level as me. A few of the other dancers were actually teaching the dances. That was interesting. There were train wrecks on all the dances that involved the entire group. I loved it.

Today I went for a walk and passed by the fire station that is close to our house. If I was running it wouldn't have been so cold, but since I was walking it was a bit colder especially with the fantastic wind chill. I went inside and asked if I could warm up inside for a few minutes. They said sure, and a few minutes later they asked if they could give me a ride home. While I could have walked the rest of the way home perfectly fine, how could I pass up the opportunity to take a ride in a firetruck. It was awesome! My family thought it was awesome too.

Damn Artemis, leaving me in the dust! lol

One breakthrough last week, I used flaxseed as an egg substitute for the first time! Actually made s gluten free, vegan pumpkin pie. It was AWESOME!

Got a mini for us this week! It's the Just Start mini. Every day that it's possible, find something you've been putting off and just start! Example: Today I started a 5-8 page paper about whether or not Pebble Mine will be good for Alaska that I've been putting off.

Also, if you have ideas for minis or themes, let me know! :D

So, last night, I got in my just do it for yesterday! I've been thinking about starting a service fraternity that is associated with a sorority and a gender-blind frarority, and last night I spoke to some people about it. If my wife and I decide I don't have time to see it through, they might take it up :)

Today, I've started the introduction on my 16-20 page paper on mining policies in the United States. It's gonna be a good day!

Breakthrough: I went to the company's holiday party last night. It was awesome! Not part of the breakthrough, but I had some very delicious carrot cake! It's my absolute favorite cake. I saw it and all will power went out the window. Back to the breakthrough. It was casino themed and I won a lot of chips. And there was a sweet old couple who gave me all of their chips. The woman must have gotten 20 blackjacks. I cashed in my chips for 75 tickets and put them all towards winning a Samsung Galaxy tab 4. I won it! Also, one of my coworkers asked me to dance. Since I went to the dance last week I was able to dance with him. It was also very worth it to see the CEO dance the Macarana. That was funny! :) Second breakthrough, today I jogged for two minutes consecutively at least three times during my "run" today.

As far as my Just Start It, I started working on a book that I have been trying to write for over a year. I have most of the book planned out. The beginning and the end I pretty much know plus a little of the begging middle, but it's the end middle that I am still working on.

How have ya'll been this week?

I jogged for about a minute and a half today. I believe that is a personal record. Also, I finally had some friends over. My father has been trying me to do it for months. Trying to get all of schedules to work can be a nightmare, it just so happened that it worked out perfectly.

Artemis, awesome! A new PR and a get together with friends, I'm jealous ;)

I did nothing last week. My wife had three ear infections (2 in one ear, one in the other), I have a sinus infection, and we had my brother over for two days.... Getting back on the horse today, though!

I jogged for about 8 1/2 to 9 minutes. That totally trumps my last personal record. And it's a good thing too, considering I am having Frito Pie and hot chocolate for dinner tonight. It's a college holiday party. It was cancelled last year due to weather issues.

Don't worry about it. Finals week can be quite hectic. I spent two hours waiting for my turn to speak a presentation yesterday only to not have to present. Talk about getting worked up over nothing. But I did get to pet some puppies afterwards. The school had some rescue puppies brought in for de-stress week. :)

I haven't been keeping up with updates much either. The only breakthrough that I can think of for last week is that I got every one of my goals done last week. I am pretty happy about that.

It's been a while since anyone posted here.

On January 1 I was out the door a six in the morning to go for a "run". Out of the 51 minutes that I was out there I stopped running for about 4 minutes. Did I mention it was drizzling? It was really fun and I enjoyed it.
