At the end of my last challenge, I was in San Diego and being away threw me off track a bit. And then I got sick during the second week off. I've been trying to pick myself up since all that. That's why it's taken me so long to post a thread and to start following everyone. Let's do this!

Main Quest
To live in the here and now. To love myself for who I am and gain my confidence back. Getting healthy will be a bonus to being myself.

Goal 1: The Golden Movements (+3 STR & +3 DEX)
I'm copying this goal from my last challenge. Mainly to get the habit in place. ^_^

1) Twice a week, I will walk the dog with or without the husband. The weather has cooled off and it shouldn't rain at 4 o'clock like in the summer. Walking = minimum 2x/walk

2) I really enjoyed belly dancing so I'm going to stick with it. I also drove by a belly dancing studio this weekend soo...I may decide to take an actual class sometime. :) Belly Dancing = 1x/week

3) I'm hoping yoga works out as well as it did last time. It was fun. I think I should do it more then twice a week to help with sore muscles. For now though, yoga = 2x/week.

Goal 2: The Real Stuff (+3 STR)

I want to get back/start doing actual exercise. I want to be the best that I can be. However, I am holding myself back. I'm going to work on body weight exercises this time. Incline push ups, squats, lunges, and work towards some KB stuff once I get it in my head that I can do this. That I can ignore the thoughts in my head that other people will watch me. Still deciding on how often and what I'll do exactly. Probably will create either a SS or have a notebook to write in.

Diet Quest: Food (+2 CON)
To enjoy what I eat. Taking the easy way by ordering food does nothing for my health or my taste buds. I enjoy the meals I make so cooking my meals and eating less processed food will be the goal. To say no to the candy jar and sweets that I didn't make myself. If I happen to eat out, I will chose something that's not heavy and tastes good. Something that won't derail me. I need to focus! The holidays are coming..

Life Quest: To Continue the Journey to Betterment (+2 CHA)

Continue my gratitude journal. To not take life too seriously. I'm also participating in a Ladies' Only book club hosted by the wife of one of my husband's friends. So we'll see how that goes. I need to read and get comfortable talking to women..

Do something everyday to make this journey flow as smoothly as possible.

I love the Golden movements quest! I struggled with the BBW consistency last time too, I am doing it this time around again to hammer it in. No more chicken arms for me!

Glad to see you back and good luck!

Challenge is off to a good start. Made all my meals yesterday. Monday, I ate out so that was a bust. Today is starting off right. Made my breakfast and prepared my lunch. Steam bag filled with veggies and pulled pork. ^_^ It's going to be a good day. Need to get my walk in this afternoon. :)

Were you able to get that walk in despite the weather?

..no... The weather has been a bit cold but it's still nice out so I could have walked with no problem. However, I just feel totally unprepared for this challenge. I'm lacking willpower or something. Just feeling really out of it this week. Well, really, the past few weeks. The trip back home is partly the cause I think. The husband has picked smoking back up after 5 months of not smoking. I've slipped back into negative thinking and need to put more focus into the positive. Like by next week, we will have paid off 1 of the 6 debts (credit cards or loans) that we have. :victorious:  And our 3 year anniversary is coming up in 3 weeks.  :triumphant:

Tell that man that cigarettes are stealing extra years away from you and him that could be spent loving each other with healthy bodies. Plain fact.

Im sorry you are feeling down. Forgive me, but I feel a little tough love is in order. Weather blues and family stuff aside, the only person stopping you from being awesome is yourself. Time to grab those bootstraps and tell your poor mood to take a hike!

If you dont want to do anything towards your goals, then you better be prepared to harvest what comes from that.

Personally, you are absolutely beautiful inside and out, and I will quote you: live in the here and now, do something every day to make this journey flow.

Keep at it. Even if you do only one thing today.

I was looking for whoever had a belly dancing tag and came to check out your thread. Cool challenge - lots of good stuff besides belly dancing, too! Paying down debt is a big win.

Are you from the San Diego area? I grew up in Vista...but that's been a long time ago. I haven't been back there since 1987!

How did you get interested in belly dancing?

Oh, believe me I have. I'm hoping once he finally gets over being sick he'll quit again...

I could totally say "why do you have to be right?". ;) However, I will instead say Thank you!! I read this when I first got up this morning (at 5:30) and instead of going back to sleep and having an unproductive morning/day, I stayed up. Watched the new Sailor Moon episode, did my belly dance lesson and walked the dog. I do feel better now so thank you. I'm happy to have a bit of tough love directed towards me. :)

And a quick cheer for the debt thing! That is huge!

Paying down debt is a big win.

Yes it is. Thanks! :)

I am. Was born and raised there. Moved to Tampa just over two years ago. hehe...I was born the year after you last visited. ;)

I've been interested in belly dancing since I was a teenager. I loved the hip scarves. ^_^  I just never tried to do it until recently. A bit of nerves, I guess. Still have them though. I recently found a studio that does classes so I'm most likely going to check it out in the next month or so. Right now, I'm just using 2 DVDs.

Good to hear that you shook of your 'mehs' and took charge. I always feel better after I knock something out and can stop guilting myself.

Hi there! I don't think I've posted on your threads before, though I seem to remember you being in the brigade last time around.

This is awesome! I've been finding it helps to think about how you'll feel after you go through with something when things are otherwise "meh." Every "meh" is an opportunity to stride forward with epic victory! ...or something like that ;)

Yay Sailor Moon!!

Thanks for the reminder! Im loving the new one so far.

Im glad that it helped. My husband gives me tough love too, and sometimes I hate it but I know he's right so I do what needs to be done.

Here's hoping you have a great rest of your weekend!

I had the same issue with Kung Fu.  Looked cool but thought I would look like such a dork doing it.  Well lo-and-behold apparently in a Kung Fu class there are a bunch of people likewise interested in Kung Fu.  The camaraderie is one the unexpected benefits of taking classes.  I hope you have a similar experience when you try out the belly dancing classes!

I started this week better then last week. I walked the dog last night. Thought I was crazy to do to it but it felt good. It was 50 degrees outside....yeah, it's not snow but it's still cold! :P I may take her on another one tonight, or just do some yoga. We'll see how this afternoon is.

Being kind of lame with my updates this time around. ^_^

I got some yoga in and did a minute of elbow planks for the mini. Need to work on those some more. I've got like no core strength. But hey, I participated. ^_^
