Several challenges ago, Erick the Red created The Wild Hunt accountabilibuddy group for fans of the Dresden Files. He's graciously allowed me to continue with that tradition for this challenge!

Lightning flashes across a storm-ridden sky and you hear the call of a hunting horn as hounds bay for your blood. Terror grips you and you only have three choices: join, hide or die.

Joining the hunt means competing again the best warriors of all time: Odin, Herne the Hunter, King Arthur, and the Erlking, among others. Hiding means you can only hope the monsters won't find you and kill you anyway; or if you choose to flee as prey to somehow outpace the horses. And dying...well, that's not really an option now, is it?

If you choose to join, you are committing to working towards your challenges, whatever they may be, for the duration of the hunt (our 6 week challenge). Offering support to your fellow riders and being relentless towards your own goals. We will be dedicated and we will succeed or die trying!

So what will you do: join, hide or die?

Rules

1. Sign up in the official Accountabilibuddy spreadsheet here.

2. Follow this thread and other members threads by clicking the red 'follow this topic' button at the top right of your screen.

3. Post a short introduction about yourself, what your challenge is all about and how it pertains to the Dresden Files.

Hi,

I'm a Level 1 Rebel looking at Accountabilibuddies groups as part of the mini dungeons and saw this one.

I've watched the Dresden Files (great series even if it was short-lived), but not gotten into the books. My wife has quite a few of them and I've managed to have a look at a couple of the graphic novel adaptations of the books and enjoyed those.

However, what really drew me here was the name of the group. I saw it and thought of an image I hadn't looked at in a long time (I hope it comes through):

If you'll have me, I'm working on my first challenge and you can see more of it here.

Thank you.

The graphic novel adaptations are fine, and tell the story, but a lot of the quirky humor and characterisation has to be left out for space.  But you get cool pictures, so that's all right.  I agree that you should read the books though.  The majority opinion is that the first few novels are less strong than the later ones, but since the while 20+ novel series has been planned out from the beginning, there is foreshadowing rom the very first sentense.

And I am on my work computer with a bunch of filters, so the image didn't get through, but I think it is related to this one?

I had this book on my D&D shelf as a teenager.

Hi there!

I just saw this group and was very pleasantly surprised.  I love the Dresdan Files, Jim Butcher is one of my favorite authors.

I'm actually rereading the books right now, though a bit out of order since I just grab whichever one I see first on the book shelf.

I would love to join this group.

Also, Zombie dinosaurs are cool and all but I'll take Mouse anytime.

I am torn, but Mouse is probably my favorite character.  And why I can't have a "for real" Caucasian Shepherd Dog, because it wouldn't be the same.

Elinox, this is a LINK to PositiveBlue's challenge thread, to make it easier for you to get to it.

I appreciate it Red, since I'm currently on a tablet!

Welcome to the hunt PositiveBlue! My favorite character is Murphy and while Red's right in that the series really only gets exceptionally good around book #4, my favorite is still Fool Moon. Werewolves and all. ;)

We should look on the bright side.  Shoveling is good exercise.

Good exercise true, so long as you don't over-do it and have a heart attack. :P

And last night at my house Mab was really in a happy mood as it was 17 degrees (central PA).

Just had a great time reading through the individual threads of everyone here. Some really great things going on for all of you.

It's definitely gotten colder around here. Not even supposed to get above freezing tomorrow if I heard the forecast correctly, but thankfully, we've not gotten the snows like have hit where I used to live a few years ago (western New York).  I know I'll have to shovel soon enough, but I'm not ready to welcome that just yet.

When it comes, then I'll have to get out the hand axes to toss at the frost giants so I can get the regular work done.

I am experiencing the most interesting technical difficulty.  I can post on any thread except for my own.  The field at the bottom of the page (the oone I am typing in right now) is simply absent on my challenge thread.  Huh.

Weird. Does this happen just on your challenge thread or in your battle log as well? Everything looks okay on my end.

Erick, I just popped over to you thread and it had the comment posting box-thing.

Weird that you're not seeing it.  Maybe refresh the page?

Tried it.  Tried restarting the computer even.

Hey Erick, I posted something in the mods thread pointing them to your post here.  Hopefully that will lead to someone being able to help you get your issue resolved.

Thanks.

It was just happening to that one thread, but I had not tried the battle log.  But when I got home, I can post on my thread on that computer.  I will try again on my work computer tomorrow, and if things are still weird I will let you know.  Thanks for stopping by, stay for the Dresdeny fun!

Things have been quiet here the past couple of days, but I'm sure if you listen closely, you'll hear the baying of the hounds and other wild beasties that are running through the night.

They're coming. Will they run you down or will you lead them on the chase?

The Wild Hunt

How's things been going for everyone?  Welcome to the end of Week 2. Keep it up. We're a third of the way to our goals.

Well, Summer was trying hard to push its way back into northern Minnesota, but the rain has turned to snow again.  The Hunt has returned!!!

(I can't believe I missed this accountability group for several challenges.  Mea culpa!)

Welcome CTJ! Does this mean you're joining us on the hunt?

My week #1 was so-so, while my week #2 sucked. So for week #3, I'm going to kick it into high gear! Rawr!!!
