High light of training right now is definetely squats.  I'm starting to feel like my deadlift and bench are lagging a bit.

Monday (Peaking starts):

 

Squat Singles: 115kg, 125kg, 132.5kg, 140kg, 144kg
Squat: 3x2 @130kg, 5 @115kg

Bench Singles: 70kg, 77.5kg, 82.5kg

Bench (first paused): 2 @72.5kg, 5x2 @75kg, 5@70kg - twinged my left trap on my last rep so skipping snatches... again
Assistance: db row and over head lunges.

I'm going to start my own fed, where we do back squat, front squat and over head squat.  All other lifts are irrelevant.

I'm almost afraid to ask, but what is your PR OH Squat? 

60kg, but it was a couple of years ago.  I haven't done much OH squat recently, except when finishing the snatch and that's easier.

This week is the first week in a while where I deadlifted more than I squatted.

Tuesday:

Speed Deadlift - 110kg, 120kg, 127.5kg, 8x2 @117.5kg

Paused Front Squat - 3 @87.5kg, 3 @91kg, 3 @93kg, 3x3 @83kg

Clean & Jerk - 5x3 @50kg
Assistance - inverted row, push up, lat pull down and barbell roll out

 

Thursday:

Paused Squat - 103kg, 115kg, 123kg, 129kg, 133kg

Speed Squat - 2 @121kg, 7x2 @116kg

Bench Press (Long Pause) - 3x1 @75kg, 3x2 @70kg, 2x5 @65kg

Assistance - bent over row & cable row

Saturday:
Deadlift - 135kg, 142.5kg 147.5kg, 4x3 @130kg

Deficit Deadlift - 3x5 @105kg

OHP - 12 @25kg, 8 @30kg, 5 @34kg, 3 @31kg, 3 @36kg, 11 @26kg

Jerk - 2x3 @48kg 2 @48kg, 3 @48kg, 2 @48kg, 3 @45kg, 2 @45kg - had problems in the rack position today

Checking in.  I like the angles you show on your squat videos.  I am trying to find some things to fix on the form since I am recovering from a recent butt-wink.

If you have access to a good coach in person then talk to them about possible cues to fix technique.

Monday:

Squat: 1 @120kg, 1 @130kg, 1 @140kg, F @ 147.5kg, 3x2 @130kg, 5 @116kg - failed 147.5kg on hip join laxity coming up past parallel

Bench: 1 @70kg, 1 @80kg, 1 @85kg, F @87.5kg - backside off bench on 87.5kg

Snatch: 5x3 @40kg

Assistance: dumbbell row & over head lunge

On the bright side, once joint laxity subsides I should be a kilo or so lighter.

I got some advice and I feel good about it!  I even composed a song about it, but will spare your thread from it.  Thanks!  :)  I will get another video and see how many issues it fixed.

Today the BJJ coaches discovered I make a very good training partner for new people, expecialy new small people.

Despite the fact that every one has seen a pretty boss kata garuma on some fat guys, I know how to react for a small person and not out strength them and scare them away.

I am being an asset again.  :D

This is called playing to somebody's strength, correct?

 

Hey, I really like the deadlift videos you are posting too.  Even though you call the last ones you post "speed deadlifts," you move from one position to the next position.  It is clean and smooth and you are in each position long enough to show what the position is supposed to look like.  Watching the video exposed some more flaws in my technique.  So thanks for posting them!

Monday:

Squat: 115kg, 127.5kg, 135kg, 142.5kg, 3 @135kg, 2x3 @130kg, 5 @120kg - got stuck on 147.5kg, becuase of thow fast 142.5kg was I thought I had it tonight

Bench: 70kg, 77.5kg, 82.5kg, 85kg, 87.5kg, 90kg, 5x2 @80kg, 5 @75kg - felt pretty good about this till I watched the video back.  It's a start though

Assistance: dumbbell row and lunges

 



I need to get that set up better and get more stable on the bench.

Been bad at updating this.  Not much videos from training and not much excitement other than peaking for the EPF classic next week.  Comined with some judo coaching at BJJ (OMG! EJU! B&!)

Had a trip down to the West Midlands for an equipped squad session and trying out the new shirt.  Been told to get a belt to hold it in place, it doesn't even touch with 110kg :(

 

 

The rest of this week is openers and last warm up weights, plus trying not to be a fatty wee fat fat.  I've found out that my hotel has a sauna so I feel a bit less pressure on the making weight front.

So... at around 4:00... what's with the plastic bags on people's arms while benching?

The plastic bags help with pulling on tight suits and shirts.  The plastic bags are still there during benching so the shirt can be easily adjusted.  They would be removed after the last warm up at a comp.

My shirt is loose enough to not need bags or suit slippers, but it needs a belt so it back be held down and I actually get the full use of the chest panel.
